Team Teaching Lesson Plan: Group 1

Lesson Title: The History of Popular Culture

Time: 50 minutes.

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:


a. Identify what is the meaning of “Popular Culture”
b. Students will be able to demonstrate the history of Popular
Culture
c. Students will develop an appreciation for the diversity and
richness of Philippine popular culture by engaging in respectful
discussions about its significance, demonstrating empathy towards
differing viewpoints, and recognizing the importance of cultural
heritage preservation.

a. Identify what is the meaning of “Popular Culture”


b. Students will be able to demonstrate the history of Popular Culture
c. Students will develop an appreciation for the diversity and richness of Philippine popular
culture by engaging in respectful discussions about its significance, demonstrating empathy
towards differing viewpoints, and recognizing the importance of cultural heritage
preservation.

Drill Activity :

● “What do you think or what comes to your mind whenever you hear the word
“POPULAR CULTURE”?
● “Can you give a viewpoint of the meaning of “Popular Culture”?
● “Can you give an example of a “Popular Culture”?

Motivation (4 minutes):

Must discuss the rise of Popular culture from Ancient Roots up to Globalization era
Must discuss the evolution of Popular Culture from time to time.
Must discuss the lives of John Fiske and John Storey.

What made them relevant when it comes to Popular Culture?
Do you think the two people that we discussed is a great part of the evolution of Popular Culture?
