Text Book:
1. A first course in computational physics, Paul L. DeVries & Javier E. Hasburn, 1st ed,

math of numerical techniques.
Numerical techniques using computers have led to powerful methods to solve problems. It is
difficult to find solutions to many problems using analytical techniques. Numerical techniques
come to our rescue to solve many of these problems. Success of these techniques is often limited
only by the speed of computers. Advent of computers together with numerical techniques have
also led to discovery of phenomena that would otherwise have never taken place.
Every week there will be three lectures (12-12.50 pm) and one tutorial (5-5.50 pm) in C 307
