QR codes

Once the QR Scanner becomes available in the game, you can access it under the Pokedex to scan
QR codes to unlock rare Pokemon in the game. Scan the QR codes using your Nintendo 3DS
camera. Every Pokemon has its own unique QR code. Use the Island Scan ability to scan ten QR
codes to get 100 QR points (10 points per scan). After getting those points, scan one of the four
islands for a rare Pokemon. There is a different Pokemon available each day of the week.
Monday: Totodile (Melemele), Spheal (Akala), Swinub (Ula'ula), Conkeldurr (Poni)
Tuesday: Deino (Melemele), Luxio (Akala), Duosion (Ula'ula), Togekiss (Poni)
Wednesday: Horsea (Melemele), Honedge (Akala), Roselia (Ula'ula), Leavanny (Poni)
Thursday: Klink (Melemele), Venipede (Akala), Staravia (Ula'ula), Serperior (Poni)
Friday: Chikorita (Melemele), Bellsprout (Akala), Vigoroth (Ula'ula), Samurott (Poni)
Saturday: Litwick (Melemele), Marill (Akala), Axew (Ula'ula), Emboar (Poni)

These are all rare Pokemon you cannot find anywhere else. Additionally, once a QR code is
scanned, you will gain an entry in the Pokedex. Note: Only ten QR codes can be scanned per day,
and you will only have one chance at catching the rare Pokemon that spawned from the QR codes
used.
Infinite money

This exploit requires access to the Battle Royale Dome by completing the third Island Trial. Then,
enter the Thrifty Megamart on right side of the Battle Royale Dome on Akala Island. You can get a
50% off coupon at the door. Go to the vendor (lady in red) that sells Poke Balls and buy them in 10
increments. For each purchase of 10 Poke Balls, you will get a free Premier Ball. Once you are out
of Poke Dollars, sell all the Poke Balls to get all your money back with the help of the coupon you
acquired earlier. You will still get to keep the Premier Balls you obtained, even after selling the Poke
Balls. Sell the Premier Balls for 10 Poke Dollars to obtain an unlimited amount of Poke
Dollars. Note: To make the process quicker, press Right on the D-pad to auto select 11 Poke Balls.
Easy money

The Amulet Coin is a special held item that doubles the amount of money earned after each battle.
Happy Hour is a special move that also doubles the amount of money earned after a battle.
Combine the two to get 4x the normal amount of coins. To get the Amulet Coin, go to Paniola Ranch
on Akala Island. Start at the Nursery building and walk directly right. Look behind the red truck to find
the Amulet Coin. To get the Happy Hour move, select the "Mystery Gift" option at the main menu
and connect to the internet to get a Munchlax with Happy Hour already memorized. Note: The
Mystery Gift ends January 11, 2017. Equip the Amulet Coin and use the Happy Hour move at any
point during a battle to get quadruple the prize money.
Easy XP

Any Pokemon that you have acquired through a trade will get an extra 50% XP. Trade all of your
Pokemon away and then back again with someone you can trust to get an instant increase in XP.
Using Pokemon Refresh, any Pokemon with two out of five hearts filled in the Affection meter will
gain 20% extra XP. To increase the Affection stat quickly, use Poke Pelago and shake the tree in
Isle Abeens daily. Use the Rainbow Beans and feed them to your star Pokemon. Depending on your
Pokemon, you may gain multiple hearts with a single Rainbow Bean.
Successfully complete the game by defeating the Elite Four and becoming Alola Champion. Then,
return to Route 1 and visit Professor Kukui's Lab on the beach. If you have 50+ Pokemon in your
Pokedex, talk to Professor Kukui to get the Lucky Egg item. The Lucky Egg is a held item that gives
a 50% XP boost to the Pokemon holding it.
Easy Happiness

To easily raise Happiness for a Pokemon, collect or purchase two TMs. Make sure both TMs can be
learned by the Pokemon you want to increase the Happiness. Replace one move with a TM. Select
a move you do not mind losing for now —- you can relearn the abilities afterwards. Use the second
TM to replace the first TM. Replace the second TM with the first TM. Keep repeating this for 5-10
minutes to max out Happiness. You can use this exploit to easily evolve a Pokemon with the
Happiness evolution requirement.
Easily prevent evolutions

Most Pokemon evolve once they reach a certain level requirement. However, to prevent a Pokemon
from evolving, during the Evolution animation, hold B to stop the evolution. The Pokemon will evolve
at the next possible level-up, if all requirements/conditions are met. Normally, Everstones (which are
rare) were the only way to stop an evolution in previous Pokemon games. They are still available
in Pokemon Sun/Moon. For example, you can get one by defeating Ilima in his house in Hau'oli City.
Ilima, the Trial Captain, goes home after you defeat the Melemele Island Kahuna.
Easy Shiny Pokemon

Pokemon Sun/Moon generates Pokemon eggs and their contents before you even begin hatching.
Use the following steps to pre-generate a Shiny Pokemon. You will first need the following Pokemon
and items:
Pokemon
Ditto (foreign): Enter GTS and trade for a Ditto with a name in any foreign language (Japanese is
best). Foreign means any non-North American Ditto in GTS. Note:Be aware of 5/6 IV Japanese
Ditto, as these are most likely hacked Pokemon. Hacked Pokemon will not work for this method.

Magikarp: Any Magikarp will work. They are common in any body of water in Alola.

Goal Pokemon: The "Goal" Pokemon is the species you want to generate a shiny for, which can
be any Pokemon.
The foreign Ditto is the most important part of this process. You must have a foreign, un-hacked
Ditto. There are other ways to do this method, but using a foreign Ditto is by far the easiest.
Items

Destiny Knot: Equip it on the foreign Ditto. It cam be purchased for 48 BP at the fourth counter in
the Battle Royale Dome.
 Everstone: Equip on the "Goal" Pokemon. It is given by Ilima after re-battling him in the large
house in Hau'oli City. It is also available for purchase for 16 BP at the second counter in the
Battle Royale Dome.

Shiny Charm (optional): It is only needed if you do not use a foreign Ditto. It is given by the
Game Director in Heahea City after completing the Alola Region Pokedex (excluding Mythical
Pokemon).
Then, go to the Hatchery, wait outside at the ranch, and use the following steps to breed a Shiny
Pokemon:

1. Save your game.

2. Deposit the foreign Ditto with the Destiny Knot equipped into the Nursery, then deposit
Magikarp.

3. Run in circles to generate eggs. Collect 25-50 eggs. Enter the enclosed fence across the path
from the nursery entrance, and spin while riding Tauros to quickly generate eggs. You can
generate as many as desired. It is recommended to generate at least 30 to improve your
chances of finding a Shiny.

4. Remove one of the Pokemon from the nursery to stop eggs from spawning. This is just a
safety precaution. If you continue to generate eggs, you may pre-generate an IV/Shiny/Nature
you want that you will miss.

5. Hatch all of the eggs you just collected. Spin with Tauros in the fence area to quickly begin
hatching.

6. If you found a Shiny, continue to the next step. If you did not, repeat steps 1-5.

7. Take note of the egg that hatched into a Shiny. For example, Egg #21 since your last save
hatched into a Shiny Pokemon.

8. Reset your 3DS without saving. This is very important.

9. Return to the Nursery and deposit Ditto and your "Goal" Pokemon. Make sure Ditto is holding
the Destiny Knot, and your "Goal" Pokemon has an Everstone equipped.

10. Collect eggs up to the number where you hatched a Shiny with Magikarp, which is Egg #21
in our example. For genderless or single-gender Pokemon, add +1 to your number. For
example, for a genderless or single-gender Pokemon, hatch Egg #22 instead of #21.
11. Finally, hatch the egg (for example, Egg #21) to get the desired Shiny
Pokemon. Note: When breeding Pokemon, simply refuse the eggs from the Nursery you do not
want until you get the right egg with the Shiny Pokemon.
Easy Pikachu

Go to Hau'oli City after your first trial when Pokemon can call for help. Enter the fenced area across
from the mall. Walk around in that grass until you run into a Pichu. Note:Set another Pichu or
Pikachu with Static as the first member of your party to increase the odds of a Pichu appearing. This
is best done in the area on Route 1 where Pichu spawns, as this does not also have a Magnemite.
Stall the battle until Pichu calls for help. Get the Pichu to low HP to increase rate of it calling for help.
The Pokemon it calls for help will either be Pikachu, Pichu, or Happiny. It calls Pikachu 4/7 of the
time, another Pichu 2/7 of the time, and Happiny 1/7 of the time. If it is Pikachu, K.O. the Pichu and
catch the Pikachu. If it is Pichu or Happiny, K.O. the new Pichu or Happiny and stall the battle again
until Pichu calls for help and it is Pikachu.
Oval Charm

Successfully complete the game by defeating the Elite Four and becoming Alola Champion. Then,
visit the Game Freak building and defeat Morimoto to get the Oval Charm, which substantially
boosts the rate at which eggs appear at the Pokemon Nursery.
Shiny Charm

Complete the Alola Pokedex. Then, speak with the Game Director in Heahea City to get the Shiny
Charm, which which triples the rate Shiny Pokemon are found in the game.
Poke Finder upgrades

Early in the game, you get the ability to take and submit photos with the Rotom Dex. You get points
for each photo you submit that are used to upgrade the Poke Finder's version once you reach a
milestone. Get the indicated number of points to upgrade the Poke Finder to the corresponding
version and gain the listed new feature:
Version 2: Get 1,500 points to unlock the Zoom function.
Version 3: Get 10,000 points to unlock the Zoom upgrade.
Version 4: Get 100,000 points to unlock the Final Zoom upgrade.
Version 5: Get 1,500,000 points to unlock an option to call Pokemon to you.
Getting Alolan Dugtrio

It can take quite a bit of time to find an Alolan Dugtrio in the game. A quicker method is to just catch
a Diglett and evolve it into a Dugtrio. Diglett can be found on the first island. It can be found in the
cave where you do your first trial. You first have to complete the trial before you can catch any
Pokemon in that cave. You can also find Diglett in the cave next to the Pokemon Lab on the island.
You need to be able to ride Taurus in order to break the rocks to enter it. After you catch Diglett,
level it up. Diglett will evolve into Dugtrio at Level 26 -- so you need to use it quite a bit. You can also
use some Rare Candies on it to level it up quicker. The "Exp All" does help level it up much quicker if
you do not want to use it. If you do not want to level up Diglett, you will have to wait until the third
island. You can catch it there and on the fourth island, but that is further into the game.
Getting Alolan Vulpix

Vulpix is one of the exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Sun. The only way to obtain it in Pokemon
Moon is by trading for it. To get Vulpix, you have to get pretty far into the game. You can find Vulpix
on Mount Lanakila, north of Route 14 on Ula'ula Island. That area is under construction until later in
the game. After completing the final trial, you can return to Mount Lanakila and take the elevator up.
When you reach the top, search the grass to eventually see Vulpix appear. Vulpix is pretty common
-- so you should not have to spend too much time looking for one. Once you have Vulpix, you can
evolve it into Ninetails by using an Ice Stone on it. Vulpix is just an Ice type, but Ninetails is an Ice
and Fairy type. When you evolve Vulpix into Ninetails, it can also immediately learn Dazzling Gleam.
Getting Cosmog

Successfully complete the main quest and defeat all four Island Kahunas to become the Alola
Champion. Go back to the Altar Of The Sunne. Enter the Portal at the Altar, then go to the Lake Of
The Moone. Go to the platform at the top of the lake to initiate a cutscene. Cosmog will join your
party. Note:You can only get one Cosmog per playthrough.
Getting Eevee
You cannot catch Eevee until you reach the second island. You will get a mission early while on the
second island to go to a Pokemon Ranch. On the way to the Pokemon Ranch, you can find Eevee
spawns right before the town, near the ranch. However, it is rare for them to spawn. You can also
find them on the other side of the map, on Route 5 coming down from the ranch. Eevee will often call
for extra help -- so be prepared for that. You can evolve Eevee into multiple different forms.
Getting Grumpig

Note: This Pokemon requires Update 1.1. Open the Rotom Pokedex and choose the "QR Scanner"
selection. Scan the following QR code. Then, go to any Pokecenter to obtain Grumpig.
Getting Magearna

Note: Before you can unlock Magearna, you must defeat the Elite Four and become Alola
Champion. Then, open the Rotom Pokedex and choose the "QR Scanner" selection. Scan the
following QR code. Next, travel to Hau'oli City on Melemele Island and go to the Antiquities Of The
Ages shop to obtain the mythical Magearna. Magearna is a unique Steel/Fairy dual-type Pokemon
that is completely mechanical and artificial. It is also the only currently known Pokemon that can
learn the Fleur Cannon special move.
Easy Munchlax and Snorlax Z

If you play the game during the launch window (until January 11, 2017), you can get Munchlax and
Snorlax Z immediately. Start a new game and get your first Pokemon. Then, save and exit the game.
At the main menu, select the "Mystery Gift" option, and choose the "Get Gift From Internet" selection
to get Munchlax and the Snorlium Z for Snorlax. Munchlax can now be found at any Poke Center in
the game. Talk to the guy next to the healing station, and he will tell you he has your gift. Munchlax
will be Level 5 and can be either male or female. To evolve Munchlax, you need to max its affection
with you. You can do this by feeding it, using it in battle, petting it in the groom section, and cleaning
dirt or other things off it after battle. When you max the affection, it will evolve the next time it levels
up. When you get Snorlax, give it the Snorlax Z stone to give it a special ability.
Getting Necrozma (Legendary)

Necrozma (Psychic type) is the final Pokemon available to capture in Pokemon Sun And Moon. To
capture Necrozma, first defeat the Elite Four and become Alola Champion. Next, complete all Ultra
Beast quests for the Looker. Then, go to Ten Karat Hill on Melemele Island. Break through the
boulders using the Tauros Ride HM and enter Farthest Hollow. Necrozma spawns in the grassy field
in the back-left corner where Rockruffs naturally appear. There is a very low chance that Necrozma
will appear, but you can do the following things to increase the chances it will appear:
 Use Super Repel to keep low-level Rockruffs from bothering you while you try to get Necrozma
to spawn.
 Always keep running, or ride on Tauros and charge in circles. The faster you move, the more
likely you are to enter into a random battle.
 Do not put Pokemon over Level 75 on your team. Necrozma is a Level 75 Pokemon, and will not
spawn if you have Level 75+ Pokemon.
The Pokemon in Ten Karat Hill are Level 10+ at best -- so Super Repel will prevent low-level
Rockruffs from bothering you as you circle the grass, and only Necrozma will appear for a battle.
Once it does, use the following tips to catch it:
 Necrozma is the hardest Pokemon to catch in the game. Save the Master Ball for this battle to
make it much easier to catch it.
 If you do not have a Master Ball, buy a large quantity of Ultra Balls. It may require over a dozen
attempts, but the Ultra Ball will eventually capture Necrozma.
 Do not use Beast Balls. Necrozma is not an Ultra Beast. Thus, Beast Balls will actually lower
your chances of catching Necrozma.
 Bring Pokemon that are about Level 60+ to have a fair fight with Necrozma.
 Use Ground type special moves against Necrozma to weaken it. Necrozma is a Psychic type,
and uses Iron Defense to precisely increase its defense.
 Once you have weakened Necrozma, use Yawn/Hypnosis or other moves to make it fall asleep
as you attempt to catch it.
Getting Sungaleo

Get Cosmog, then evolve it. Cosmog will evolve into Cosmoem at Level 43, and Cosmoem will
evolve into Sungaleo at Level 53. Sungaleo is a Psychic/Steel type.
Rare aquatic Pokemon locations

Defeat the Wishiwashi Totem Pokemon on Akala Island to get the Fishing Rod. Then, go to the
indicated fishing spot to catch the corresponding aquatic Pokemon. Make sure to bring lots of
Pokeballs when fishing. For better results, save Lure Balls (given by Samson Oak on Blush
Mountain) to increase your chances of catching Wild Pokemon while fishing. Unfortunately, these
Pokeballs are not available to purchase -- so use Lure Balls wisely. Alternatively, you can use Dive
Balls which increases your catch rate versus water type Pokemon while swimming or fishing. Those
are sold for $1,000 each. Note: Pokemon will only appear at fishing spots with bubbles. You can
reset the fishing spot by leaving and re-entering.

Barboach: Enter Seaward Cave from Melemele Meadow on Melemele Island (enter the small
hole south as you enter the yellow field of flowers). Once you are inside, go left to the small pond
of water. Jump onto Lapras to find the single fishing spot. There is a 50% encounter chance.
Barboach is a water/ground dual type that evolves into Whiscash at Level 30. Getting Whiscash
is the main reason to catch this Pokemon.

Bruxish: On Route 13 on Ula'ula Island, enter the trailer park from Tapu Village, and proceed
down the path south from the oasis in the center. Down on the coast, travel right from the old
man, and right of the Trainer Tips sign, to see the fishing location. There is a 20% encounter
chance. Bruxish is a water/psychic dual type that can also be found on the Secluded Shore, or
on Route 14 and Route 15.

Chinchou: Search for the two fishing spots on the east coast of the Akala Outskirts area on
Akala Island, near a fisherman. Go to the more northern of the two fishing spots to get this
Pokemon. There is a 20% encounter chance. Chinchou is a water/electric dual type that evolves
into Lanturn at Level 27.

Corsola: Start from Hau'oli City beach on Melemele Island, and use Lapras to swim southeast in
the Melemele Sea to a cave entrance blocked by boulders that only Sharpedo can break. To the
left of the cave entrance is a fishing hole. There is a 20% encounter chance. Corsola is a
water/rock dual type that does not evolve into any new forms. To easily reset the spot, simply
use Sharpedo to bust into the nearby Ten Karat Hill cave.

Dhelmise: In Seafolk Village on Poni Island, enter the Steelix houseboat and go through the
lower door to the porch/balcony exterior with a view of the fishing spot. You have to coax it from
its hiding spot in Seafolk Village. There is a 10% encounter chance. Dhelmise is a grass/ghost
type that does not evolve.

Dratini: There is one fishing spot straight ahead after entering Poni Meadow from Poni Plains on
Poni Island. There is a 10% encounter chance. Dratini is the first form of Dragonair. Dragonite is
a dragon type introduced in Gen 1. It is a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, but it is powerful and
grows in strength quickly.
 Feebas: Just as you enter Brooklet Hill on Melemele Island, go down the ramp to the bridge.
Jump onto Lapras and ride south to find the fishing spot that is only accessible from the water.
There is a 10% encounter chance. Feebas evolves into Milotic when traded while holding a
Prism Scale.

Lapras: In Poni Wilds on Poni Island (west of the Seafolk Village), there is a 5% you will
encounter Lapras while swimming in the water to the left of the beach. This is not a fishing
location. Lapras is an ice/water dual type that does not evolve. Lapras is most well known for its
Swim HM ability, helping trainers easily cross water. Lapras can still transport trainers with the
Poke Ride system.

Mareanie: This Pokemon is found in the same fishing spot as Corsola. Typically, Corsola will
summon Mareanie when it calls for help. The encounter chance is unknown. Mareanie is a
water/poison dual type that evolves into Toxapex and becomes much deadlier.

Relicanth: On the beach in Poni Wilds on Poni Island, locate the final trainer (the Dancer) and
walk directly left. Ride Lapras to the first fishing spot directly left (and slightly below) that trainer.
There is a 10% encounter chance. Relicanth is an ancient water/rock dual type that does not
evolve.
Sharpedo: It is found just south of the entrance to the Ruins Of Hope in Poni Breaker Coast on
Poni Island. There is a 10% encounter chance. Sharpedo is a brutal/dark dual type that evolves
into Carvanha at Level 30, and has a Mega form when equipped with Sharpedonite. Note: To
get Carvanha without using Wonder Trade, breed Sharpedo.

Shellder: Exit Seaward Cave to reach Kala'e Bay on Melemele Island. Just as you exit the cave,
use the fishing spot north near the shore. You will not need to use Lapras to reach this spot.
There is a 20% encounter chance. Shellder evolves into Cloyster with a Water Stone.

Wishiwashi: This Pokemon is found in the same fishing spot as Chinchou. There is a 30%
encounter chance. Wishiwashi unlocks the Schooling ability at Level 20. In School form,
Wishiwashi joins up with a horde, turning the swarm into one giant fish school body. It changes
the look of the Pokemon while in its new body. Wishiwashi does not evolve.
All Eevee evolutions

Complete the indicated requirement(s) to evolve Eevee into the corresponding form:

Espeon and Umbreon: This evolution requires you to increase Eevee's Happiness to around
220. Evolve Eevee during daytime to get Espeon or during nighttime to get Umbreon.
Flareon: This evolution requires a Fire Stone. It can be purchased for 3,000 at Olivia's Shop in
KoniKoni City on Akala Island, or from Poke Pelago. Alternatively, one can be found in the hot
rock located on the northwest edge of the Tunnel Of Diglett. Note: Tauros is required to reach it.
Glaceon: Have Eevee in your party and go to Lush Jungle, which is located near Route 8 on
Akala Island. You can fly there to save time. Once you are inside Lush Jungle, find the frozen
rock that is covered with ice and can easily freeze you. Interact with the rock to get a notification.
After you have interacted with the ice covered rock, explore until you encounter a wild Pokemon.
Once you have defeated the Pokemon, your Eevee will level up a few times (if it was a lower
level Eevee), and you will automatically get the Glaceon Eevee evolution. Note:You must level
up your Eevee after interacting with the ice covered rock to get the evolution. You can either do
that by battling wild Pokemon or using an item.
 Jolteon: This evolution requires a Thunder Stone. It can be purchased for 3,000 at Olivia's Shop
in KoniKoni City on Akala Island. Alternatively, one can be found at the backside of the Fossil
Restoration Center on Route 8.
Leafeon: Have Eevee in your party and go to Lush Jungle, which is located near Route 8 on
Akala Island. You can fly there to save time. Once you are inside Lush Jungle, find the green
moss/slimy rock. Interact with the rock to get a notification that it is covered in moss. After you
have interacted with the large moss covered rock, explore until you encounter a wild Pokemon.
Once you have defeated the Pokemon, your Eevee will level up a few times (if it was a lower
level Eevee), and you will automatically get the Leafeon Eevee evolution. Note: You must level
up your Eevee after interacting with the moss covered rock to get the evolution. You can either
do that by battling wild Pokemon or using an item.

Sylveon: This evolution requires you to teach your Eevee a Fairy type move and get it to two
hearts. Then, Eevee will evolve into Sylveon when it levels up.

Vaporeon: This evolution requires a Water Stone. It can be purchased for 3,000 at Olivia's Shop

To capture Ultra Beasts, defeat the Elite Four and become Alola Champion to begin accepting Ultra
Beast missions from the Looker NPC. Ultra Beasts can only be captured with special Beast
Pokeballs, given by the Looker. The Looker gives you ten Beast Balls after defeating his partner
Anabel in a duel, then sends you to collect the next numbered Ultra Beast. Go to the indicated
location to begin the corresponding Ultra Beast quest. Then, search the listed area to find the
corresponding Ultra Beast.
UB-01: Nihilego (Poison/Rock type)

Looker Location: Talk to the Looker at the motel to the left of the Pokemon Center on Route 8 on
Akala Island.

Ultra Beast Location: It is a random encounter in Diglett Tunnel on Akala Island, after accepting
the quest from the Looker.
UB-02: Buzzwole (Bug/Fighting type)

Looker Location: After capturing Nihilego, talk to the Looker and Anabel at the Route 2 motel on
Melemele Island.

Ultra Beast Location: It is a random encounter while exploring the Melemele Meadow on
Melemele Island, after accepting the quest from the Looker.
UB-03: Xurkitree (Electric type)

Looker Location: Talk to the Looker again at the motel to the left of the Pokemon Center on
Route 8 on Akala Island. This quest requires you to find and capture two Xurkitrees.

Ultra Beast Location 1: The first Xurkitree can be found in Lush Jungle on Akala Island.

Ultra Beast Location 2: The second Xurkitree can be found at Memorial Hill on Akala Island.
UB-04: Kartana (Grass/Steel type)
 Looker Location: Talk to the Looker and his partner at the hotel on Route 13 on Ula'ula Island.
This quest requires you to find and capture four Kartanas.

Ultra Beast Location: All four Kartanas will appear in random encounters while running around
Route 17 on Ula'ula Island.
UB-05: Guzzlord (Dark/Dragon type)

Looker Location: Talk to the Looker in the restaurant in Seafolk Village on Poni Island. He has a
new partner, Nanu, whom you must defeat in a duel to unlock the final Ultra Beast quest.

Ultra Beast Location: Go to Resolution Cave on Poni Island and stay on the lower level to battle
Guzzlord in a random encounter.
TM (Technical Machine) locations

Search the indicated location to find the corresponding TM item. TM (Technical Machine) are items
used to give your Pokemon moves they normally would not learn. There are a total of 100 TMs
hidden throughout the Alola region. You need an open move slot on your Pokemon to use a TM
item. Otherwise, you will have to forget one of the four moves a Pokemon can keep memorized to
use it.

TM54 - False Swipe: Melemele Island, Iki Town – Given by Professor Kukui after defeating the
Island Kahuna Hala.
TM55 - Scald: Akala Island, Route 5 – On the grassy path south of the second pond.
TM56 - Fling: Melemele Island, Hau'oli Cemetery – Go to the graveyard on Route 2, and talk to
the Machamp carrying its trainer.
TM57 - Charge Beam: Akala Island, Route 5 – Approximately around the middle of the route
path are two small ponds with a grassy patch in-between the pair. Search in that grassy patch to
find it.

Poke Center.

south and east to an area with tall green grass. In the grass, go north to find a passage that
leads to a clear spot with the TM.

mother to get it as a gift.
TM88 - Sleep Talk: Akala Island, Paniola Town – Enter the town from the Route 6 path to the
east of the town. This will lead into a small storage area across from the water tower with the

Evolution Stone locations

There are Evolution Stones for each type of Pokemon. Most stones are hidden in or around the
environments of Alola. Not every Pokemon requires a stone to evolve, but many do. Some stones
are free, while others must be purchased. Search the indicated location to find the corresponding
Evolution Stone:
Dusk Stone: It can be purchased at the Flea Market at Malie Community Center on Ula'ula
Island. It can also be found underwater in Poni Wilds on Poni Island.
Ever Stone: Battle Ilima again in his house on Melemele Island to get it.
Eviolite: It can be found next to the Pikachu in KoniKoni City on Akala Island.
Fire Stone: It can be found at Diglett Tunnel on Akala Island.
Ice Stone: It can be found in the northwest corner of Po Town on Ula'ula Island.

Sun Stone: It can be found on Blush Mountain on Ula'ula Island.
Thunder Stone: It can be found behind a truck at Dream Park on Akala Island.
Thunder/Fire/Leaf/Water Stone: It can be purchased at Olivia's Shop in KoniKoni City on Akala
Island.
Z-Crystal locations
Search the indicated location to get the corresponding Z-Crystal. Z-Crystals are required to use Z-
Moves. There are a total of 18 Z-Moves, one for each type, and specific Z-Moves that only certain
Pokemon can use. Z-Moves can only be used when a Pokemon and a trainer have a Z-Crystal, and
after earning the Z-Ring at a certain point in the adventure.

Buginium Z (Bug type): It can be found in Guzma's chest in the Shady House on Ula'ula Island.

Decidium Z (Decidueye only – Spirit Shackle): It can be found in Malie Garden (part of Malie
City) on Route 1 on Melmele Island.

Flyinium Z (Flying type): Go to Ten Karat Hill (ride Tauros to break small boulders from town)
and locate the shortcut to you hometown. In the lower-left corner of the cave is a large light-
colored boulder. Push the boulder with Machamp Shove to open the path.

Groundium Z (Ground type): In the cave in Vast Poni Island on Poni Island, make these turns at
the forks in the road: north, east, south to reach it.

Incinium Z (Incineroar only – Darkest Lariat): It can be found in Malie Garden (part of Malie City)
on Route 1 on Melmele Island.

Icium Z (Ice type): Starting from Tapu Village on Ula'ula Island, take the large lift north of the
Pokemon Center up to Mount Lanakila. Enter the cave at the top. In the cave, take these turns at
the forks in the road: north, east, south to reach it.

Normalium Z (Normal type): Successfully complete Ilima's Island Trial in Verdant Cavern on
Melemele Island.

Pikanium Z (Pikachu only – Volt Tackle): Obtain it from the Pikachu trainer north of the Pokemon
Center in Konikoni City. Look for the woman with three Pikachu near the cliff.

Primarium Z (Primarina only – Sparkling Aria): It can be found in Malie Garden (part of Malie
City) on Route 1 on Melmele Island.

Psychium Z (Psychic type): Go to Haina Desert near Tapu Village on Ula'ula Island; the mini-
map will not help. Follow these directions: 2, 1, North, 4. Check the stones for path directions.
Cross the mud path with Mudsdale Gallop. It can be found in the last area you enter.

Fishing Rod: Defeat the Wishiwashi Totem Pokemon on Akala Island. It allows you to fish.

Focus Band: Return at night to the Police Department on Akala Island to find it. It adds a 10%
chance an attack that would normally defeat a Pokemon will only lower that Pokemon's HP to 1.
 Heart Scales: In the restaurant in KoniKoni City on Akala Island, order food to obtain two of
these items. Give it to Move Reminder NPCs to relearn forgotten moves.

Lucky Punch: Talk to a female NPC near a Steelix Boat on the docks in Seafolk Village on Poni
Island. It increases Chansey's Critical Hit ratio two stages.

Muscle Band: Battle Lana again at Lana's House on Akala Island. It boosts power of physical
moves by 10%.

Safety Goggles: In Haina Desert on Ula'ula Island, follow this path: 2, 4, then talk to the Hiker at
the end of the path. He only appears at night. It gives immunity to powder moves and weather
effects.

Shell Bell: It can be unlocked during the Delibird Event at Tourist Bureau on Melemele Island.
1/8th of all damage dealt is restored to the wearer as HP.
Battle Styles

Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding Battle Style. Before a battle
begins, you can show your battle pose; each style has its own unique Poke Ball throwing animation.
You can change your Battle Style by speaking to the old man in the Outer Cape located at the north
of Malie City.
Elegant Style: Speak to the old man at the Malie City Outer Cape.
Girlish Style: Defeat Lana in a battle in Konikoni City.
Idol Style: Reach "Master" rank in the Battle Royal.
Left-Handed Style: Defeat Ilima in a battle in Hau'oli City.
Passionate Style: Get 50 consecutive wins in the Battle Tree.
Reverent Style: Defeat Kiawe in a battle near the Thrifty Megamart in Paniola Town.
Smug Style: Defeat Gladion on Mount Lanakila before the Elite Four.
Learning new Pokeball Throw Styles

To learn new Pokeball Throw Styles, you must defeat Trial Captains in their homes, and then find
the Pokeball Throw Trainer. Trial Captains return to their homes after their Island Kahuna is
defeated. Each Trial Captain you defeat in their respective home will unlock one new Pokeball
Throw Style, which you can then learn from the Pokeball Throw Trainer. The Pokeball Throw Style
Trainer can be found outside the Recycling Plant on Ula'ula Island. They will teach you new Pokeball
Throwing Styles for each Trial Captain you have re-battled. The Trial Captain houses can be found
at the following locations:
Ilima: Look for the house with a pool southwest of the Pokemon Center in Hau'oli City.
Lana: Look for the house in the northwest corner of Konikoni City.
Mallow: Look for the house south of the Pokemon Center in Konikoni City.
You will also get valuable items, such as Evolution Stones and Pokemon held-items, for re-battling
Trial Captains.

Key NPCs are unique characters found across the Alolan region. They have something special to
offer, such as a skill, feature, or something else you cannot find elsewhere. Go to the indicated
location to find the corresponding key NPC:
Hidden Power Checker: Talk to the NPC to the left of the main desk in the Daycare Center at
Paniola Ranch on Akala Island.
Keldeo/Moloetta Tutor: Talk to the tutor at the Hano Grand Hotel in Heahea City on Akala Island.
Name Rater: Talk to the name rater in the Alola Tourist in Heahea City on Bureau Akala Island.
Pledge Tutor: Talk to the pledge tutor at the Hau'oli Shopping Mall in Hau'oli City on Melemele
Island.
Pokeball Throw Style Tutor: Talk to the tutor outside the Recycling Plant on Ula'ula Island. The
tutor teaches new Pokeball Throwing Styles for Trial Captains you have re-battled in their
homes.

Shady House solution

While on Ula'ula Island, you will reach the Shady House. You will have to solve a quiz to gain access
to the upstairs room. When you reach the second floor, a door will be blocked and you need the
password to enter. The first clue is on the first floor, in the back most room on the left. There is a
piece of paper there you can check to get the clue (it may be "Beat Up"). Then, take the door that
leads under the stair case and proceed across to the other side to find a piece of paper in the
kitchen that contains the next clues. The first part is the password (it may be "Tapu Cocoa"), and the
second part will either be "No!" or "Yes!". The third piece of paper can be found on the second floor,
in last door on the left. The clue may be "Golisopod". Finally, talk to the guy at the door and answer
all questions using the clues. He will then ask if you are sure. You must answer with "No!" or "Yes!"
depending on the listed clue that was found on the second piece of paper to proceed.
Demo bonuses

Successfully complete the indicated task in the demo version of Pokemon Sun/Moon to unlock the
corresponding item in the full version of the game using the "Pokemon Link" option:
Ash-Greninja (Greninja with Battle Bond used in demo): Successfully complete an adventure.
Balm Mushroom: Celebrate the birthday of the Pikachu in the corner of the City Hall 12 days
after starting the demo.
Comet Shard: See the girl in the Marina off on her journey 24 days after the demo starts.
Nugget: Successfully complete the Pokemon Capture challenge.
Pretty Wing x10: Speak with the man outside of the Pokemon Center one day after starting the
demo.
Star Piece: Defeat all of the trainers at Ten-Carat Hill.
Stardust x3: Get rid of all the rocks in Mahalo Trail.
Exclusive Pokemon

There are seven exclusive Pokemon each in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. The following is a
list and description of all 14 exclusive Pokemon:
Pokemon Sun
Lycanroc (Midday Form; Rock type): The second form and first evolution of Rockruff is a wolf-
like Pokemon that lives alone. While still threatening, the Midday Form of Lycanroc isn't nearly
as menacing as the werewolf-like menace exuding from her brother, the Lycanroc Midnight
Form. In its midday form, it retains the light-brown colors and looks much more like a wolf, ready
to pounce on prey.
Ninetails (Alolan Form; Ice/Fairy type): The Alolan evolution for Vulpix, Alolan Ninetails becomes
a dual-type with the addition of Fairy. This chilly Ninetails features a billowing tail, making it
resemble a freezing winter fog. It has adapted to live on high peaks and traverse freezing
conditions on mountains.
Passimian (Fighting type): A Pokemon that's all about teamwork, Passimian works together with
a pack, passing hard-shelled berries to help friends or hurt enemies. Seen taking a Quarterback-
like stance, Passimian even wears a green helmet fashioned from hard Alolan berries.
Solgaleo (Psychic/Steel type): The sol-based Legendary found only in Pokemon Sun comes in
two phases — normal, and Radiant Sun. When transformed, Solgaleo can expend the vast
 amounts of solar energy from its body, and glows brightly. This Pokemon can't be captured by
normal means. Only the strongest trainers will be able to calm it's burning personality.
Turtonator (Fire/Dragon type): This explosive turtle Pokemon features elements of a common
tortoise mixed with a landmine. That makes a tough combination, and the fire type / dragon type
combo only makes sense for a fire-breather. The heavy shell it uses to protect itself makes this
tank-like Pokemon ideal for the lava-filled volcano environments found in Alola.
UB-02 Absorption: This Ultra Beast only appears in Pokemon Sun, and resembles a massive,
muscular lobster. This massive creature is all about physical attacks and high defense, and can
bring the pain with its over-sized fists, raining punches on unsuspecting Pokemon and their
trainers if they're not ready for a tough fight.
Vulpix (Alolan Form; Ice type): Vulpix and Ninetails return in Pokemon Sun with their all-new
Alolan forms. Switched from their traditional fire type, both are now ice type due to their living
conditions on a cold Alolan island. Although it doesn't visit warm climates often, Alolan Vulpix
can lower the temperature of an area on command.
Pokemon Moon
Drampa (Normal/Dragon type): Another dual-type, this calming sea monster comes from the
skies high above the Alola region. Looking something like a Chinese Dragon (think Dragon Ball
Z), this chill creature rides on a wave. It likes to move slow, take its time, and doesn't really like
going up stairs. Constantly riding on a cloud, Drampa loves nothing more than caring for its
children.
Lunala (Psychic/Ghost type): The Legendary of Pokemon Moon is a massive bat with guillotine-
like wings. It is the opposite of Pokemon Sun's Solgaleo, and absorbs dark energy into its body
instead of light. The Full Moon form changes the colors of Lunala so it more closely resembles a
complete moon, right before unleashing its deadly psychic abilities.
Lycanroc (Midnight Form; Rock type): The aggressive, and red-hued Midnight Form of Lycanroc
loves to fight, and it shows. Looking more like a werewolf than a regular wolf, Midnight Form
Lycanroc walks on two feet, and remains permanently hunched over, coiled and ready to attack.
Oranguru (Normal/Psychic type): This wise old orangutan lives alone, deep in the forests, where
it can calmly ponder the mysteries of life. Orangurus, according to legend, were once mistaken
for humans deep in the Alolan forests, due to their highly intelligent nature.
Sandshrew (Alolan Form; Ice/Steel type): Leaving the ground, the chilly Sandshrew has adapted
to Alola and become a dual-type; Ice and Steel. Like the ice Vulpix, Sandshrew also migrated to
the freezing mountains of the Alolan region where it took on new traits.
Sandslash (Alolan Form; Ice/Steel type): Replacing quills with even bigger icicles, the Alolan
Sandslash uses its claws to carve through the snow on high mountains where most trainers
won't dare tread. They might be rare, but photographers covet Sandslash sightings due to the
snow they kick up.
UB-02 Beauty: The exclusive Ultra Beast found in Pokemon Moon is UB-02 Beauty, a slender
mantis-like being that can move faster than lightning. Its strange features sap the will to fight
from trainers, suggesting it will lean more heavily on buffs / debuffs when you encounter it later
in the story.
