Slide 3 Abstract

It has come to the researchers’ attention that in line with the data gathered,

their recreational facilities are mainly or is focused on basketball courts,

hence, the recommendation, Hupay: A Proposed Enhancement of the

Riverside Promenade at Aklan RIS in Barangay Sigcay Banga Aklan.

Slide 4 PROJECT JUSTIFICATION

This articulates the problem or opportunity the project addresses,

outlines the objectives, and highlights the anticipated benefits and impacts,

supported by evidence and alignment with strategic goals.

Slide 5 Problem Statement

Barangay Sigcay's riverside promenade, a popular tourist spot, is


underdeveloped due to lack of street lights, proper waste management,
benches, sun shading devices, and landscaping, making it unsuitable for
PWD, and lacking guard posts and security cameras.

Slide 6 Justification of the Problem

The unresolved issues could lead to increased site violations, decreased


visual appeal, and failure to achieve the primary objective of creating a leisure
space.

Slide 7 Statement of Need

Barangay Sigcay, located beside the Aklan River in Banga, has been
developed to improve community well-being through recreational
activities. The area has 33 basketball courts, a covered gymnasium,
and a cockpit. However, several drowning incidents have occurred,
requiring street lights and security personnel. The proposal includes
waste management, benches, sun shading devices, PWD ramps, and
landscape improvements to enhance comfort and enjoyment for users.
The former Barangay Captain's statement supports these proposals.

Slide 8 Context

The National Irrigation Administration has improved rice production


in Sigcay, Banga, through gravity irrigation and water from the Aklan
River. The municipality grows crops like palay, corn, coconut, and
fruit trees. Sigcay is susceptible to floods and landslides, with the
worst case occurring during typhoon Frank. The municipality's soil
type includes Alimodian clay loam, Sara clay loam, Sigcay clay,
Umingan sandy loam, Bantog clay, and San Miguel clay loam.

Space optimization by incorporating architectural landscaping through green

wall installations and plant boxes. Providing seating areas such as benches.

Installation of solar lights in the area for safety and security.
