Mock Paper Details The examination is 2 hours long.

Section A: Literary non-fiction (40 marks) Students will be

given a single text for close study. The text will be divided
into sections with questions. At least one question will relate
to the whole text.

Section B: Composition (40 marks) There will be three tasks

from which students choose one: descriptive, imaginative,
argumentative and/or discursive.

Mock Paper Details The examination is 1 hours 15minutes long.

Reading: Short answer questions and multiple-choice

questions in response to written passages – (60 marks).

Writing: There are four tasks which test a range of writing

skills. The tasks increase in level of challenge, as do the
marks awarded. Each of the first three tasks will be based
on one of the themes named in the Subject content. The
final task will allow students to draw on their study in one or
more of the named themes – (60 marks).
