A NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became

which is above every name:
Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
and things in earth, and things under the earth;

“and hath given him a name which is above every name”. The Syriac
version renders it, "which is more excellent than every name"; and the Arabic
version translates it, "which is more eminent than every name"; and the
Ethiopic version thus, "which is greater than every name":

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who
believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

1. The name of Jesus is the Supreme Name! It is above every other name ever
uttered in heaven, on earth, or under the earth!

 Isaiah the Prophet said: “…Isa 9:6 and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

4. Azariah (The Lord is my Helper) to Abednego ( Servant of Nego)

Through the rest of the book of Daniel, it shows that the Babylonians could
change the young men’s names but they could not change their character.

GOD’S REVEALED NAME’S IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

1. In Creation: God is known as Elohim, which simply means “God”

2. In the Dispensation of Promise: To Abraham God is known as El Shaddai

(which means The Almighty God, All -Sufficient One)

3. In the Dispensation of Law: To Moses he is known by the name of Jehovah,

the I AM and various names compounded with Jehovah: Jehovah-Rapha (The
one who Heals), Jehovah-Tsidkenu (The Lord our Righteousness), Jehovah-
Shalom (The Lord our/is peace), Etc.
4. In the Grace Dispensation: In Bethlehem’s manger a new dispensation is
about to begin, and as in all previous dispensations, God reveals Himself in a
new name. Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. That means
that in this new dispensation, the dispensation of grace, God can be reached
and contacted only in the Name, in which he is revealed to this dispensation,
which is the name JESUS.

ABOUT THE NAME OF JESUS

1. The Name of Jesus comes from the Greek form of the Hebrew “Yahoshua”
or “Jehoshua” or “Jehovahshua” which literally means “Jehovah-Savior”

2. The Word Jesus from the Fosset Bible Dictionary means: Jehovah has
become our saviour

3. So that which was born in Bethlehem was “God With us” according to the
Scripture (Matthew 1:22-23).

4. The apostles preached salvation in an through that Name only, for they said in
Acts 4:12, “ Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

5. There is no Salvation apart from the name of Jesus! Jesus is the redemptive
Name of God, and it surpasses and supercedes all the other previously revealed
names of Jehovah.

6. It is name of Jesus is above the name Elohim, above the name El Shaddai,
above the name Jehovah, for Jesus is the saving name of God. It is the
Name above every name. It is everything the other names offered and much
more. You cannot get to God outside of Jesus Christ.
