Methodology Teacher Activity Student’s Activity

Preparation A. Preliminary Activities
(3 minutes) 1. Greetings and Prayer

Good Morning class! Good morning ma’am! We are glad to see

you.

Please remain standing for our prayer. (Student start the prayer)

How are you feeling today? We’re good ma’am

2. Checking the Attendance

Who is absent in class today? None, ma’am

Ok! Very good!

3. Setting of Class Standards

Before we proceed to our lesson, let’s

have our classroom rules.
Kindly read everyone. (Students will read the classroom
agreements)

1. Listen attentively when the teacher is

talking.
2. Raise your hand if you want to
answer.
3. Participate in every activity.
4. Unusual movement must be avoided.

Thank you! I hope this classroom

agreements will be observed entire
discussion.
Engage Before we proceed to our discussion, we
(15 minutes) have an activity it’s called “describe me”

Is everyone ready ? Yes ma’am

You will be group into 2 groups. Instead
of counting numbers , you say sides and
corners, is that clear? Yes, ma’am
(Students start counting)

Group sides on the left side, and Group (Students start moving)
corners on the right side. You may now
proceed silently to your respective group.

I will give 2 picture each group and you

are going to do is to describe the picture,
for example how many sides, how many
angles, what kind of line is it made of, and
after that, your are going to present to the
class, I will give each group 3 minutes, is
that clear? Yes, ma’am

(The teacher will distribute the picture)

Each group will present their work. (student presentation)

Ok very good!
“Let’s give ourselves a clap” (students clapping)

You may take your seat (students will take a seat)

Explore “Now, the activity that we did it has

(3 minutes) something to do with our topic today.”

What do you think our topic for today Solidad: a shape that has 4 sides and 4
based in our activity, Solidad? angles.

Very Good! It could be our topic.

Our topic for today is all about

quadrilaterals and it’s properties

Before we proceed, let’s read the

objectives first.
Clariño, kindly read. Clariño:
At the end of the discussion, 80% of the
students will be able to:
a) Identify the different kinds of
quadrilaterals
b) Performed the given activity, and
c) Show the importance of the different
kinds of quadrilaterals through
making a collage.
Ok! I hope that we will achieve this set of
objectives at the end of the discussion.
Explain Quadrilaterals is a geometric figure that
(15 minutes ) has four sides and four corners.
(show the definition)
When we say quadrilaterals those are
polygon that have only 4 sides and 4
corners.
I have a story, I was invited by the queen,
the name of the queen is Queen
Quadrilaterals, she so sad because she
forgot the name of his 3 son’s and 4
grandsons, she needs my help to find his
son’s and grandsons, can we help him? Yes, ma’am

I will show question on the TV, you will

identify what kind of quadrilaterals. To
make things easier I will give you a board
to write your answer, I will count 1 to 3,
at 3 you must raise the board. Each correct
answer will add to your corresponding
points from the first activity, is that clear? Yes, ma’am

For the first son, it has two pairs of

parallel sides. Who is he? 1 2 3 raise your
answer! Parallelogram
Very good, you got the correct answer
Why do you think parallelogram is
quadrilaterals, Buhale? Buhale: because parallelogram has 4 sides

Very good buhale, because both pairs of

opposite sides are parallel

So the first son is parallelogram.

Let’s find her first grandsons, a

parallelogram all of whose angles are
right angles. Who is he? 123 raise!
Rectangle, Very good.
Rectangle is a parallelogram that all
angles are right angles.

Another grandson , a parallelogram with

four equal sides and sometimes one with
no right angles. Who is he? 123 raise your
answer! Rhombus, you got the correct
answer.
Rhombus is also a parallelogram that has
four equal sides.

The third grandson, it has four equal sides

and four right angles. Who is he? 123
raise! Square, Very good
Square has four equal sides and four right
angles.

The 3 grandsons are rectangle, rhombus

and square, why do you think these are
quadrilaterals, Dionsay? Dionsay: also they have four sides and their
diagonal lines are congruent
Very good, nice answer

The second sons, a quadrilateral having

only two sides parallel and two non-
parallel side. Who is he? 123 raise your
answer! Trapezoid, Very good, you got
the correct answer.
Trapezoid is a quadrilateral having only
two sides are parallel and two parallel
side. Why do you think trapezoid is a
quadrilateral, Cubero? Cubero: because they have also 4 sides and
parallel sides
Let’s find the last grandsons, a
quadrilateral that the non-parallel sides are
equal. Who is he? 123 Raise your answer!
Isosceles trapezoid, Very good.

What is the difference between trapezoid

and isosceles trapezoid, Hapsan? Hapsan: the difference between is that
trapezoid has two parallel sides and two
non-parallel sides while the isosceles
trapezoid the non parallel are equal.
Very good, nice answer
Trapezoid is a quadrilateral with two
parallel sides and two non-parallel sides.
In an isosceles trapezoid, the non-parallel
sides are equal.

And the last son’s, a quadrilateral that has

2 pairs of equal-length sides and these
sides are adjacent to each other. Who is
he? 123 Raise your answer! Kite, Very
good, you got a correct answer.

So, we find Queen quadrilaterals sons and

grandsons. Who are the sons and
grandsons of Queen quadrilaterals,
Lariosa? Lariosa: the sons and grandsons of Queen
quadrilaterals the sons are parallelogram,
trapezoid and kite and their grandsons are
rectangle, rhombus, square and isosceles
trapezoid.
Very good, Lariosa
So now, did you understand the topic
class? Yes ma’am
Let’s have an activity!
Elaborate The activity called, “describe me, FACT
(20 minutes) or BLUFF”

The group is still the same. I will give you

a card with the word FACT writes on one
side and BLUFF on the other side.

I will read the statement twice, if you

think is true raise fact, if it’s not raised
bluff. I will give you 3 second to think.
Every correct answer contains 2 points
and it will be added to your previous Yes, ma’am
points. There must be a representative in
every statement, the representative turns
his back to the front after reading the
statement he/she will raise the card.
Understood!
It only ten items
Let’s start, 1. FACT
1. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral. 2. FACT
2. A square is a parallelogram. 3. BLUFF
3. A kite is a trapezoid. 4. BLUFF
4. A quadrilateral is a parallelogram. 5. BLUFF
5. A rhombus is a square. 6. FACT
6. A square is a rhombus. 7. FACT
7. A rectangle is a parallelogram. 8. BLUFF
8. A trapezoid is an isosceles
trapezoid. 9. FACT
9. A square is a rectangle. 10. BLUFF
10. A rectangle is a square.
(Students clapping)
The winner is group corners. Give them a
clap.

Now, let us recall your understanding

about our topic being discussed. Cabataña: quadrilaterals is a geometric
Again, what is quadrilaterals, Cabataña? figure has a four sides and four corners.

Sumampong: the different kinds of

Very good, how about the different kinds quadrilaterals are parallelogram, rectangle,
of quadrilaterals, sumampong? rhombus, square, trapezoid, isosceles
trapezoid and kite.

Very good sumampong!

You did a good job everyone, any None ma’am
questions?

Okay, let’s have a quiz.
