1 – Capital letters and small letters
(Initially the first 10 periods teacher will take revision of the capital letters with its sound and
vocabulary through different activities. Simultaneously teacher will also show them small
letters so that the children gets acknowledged. Various art integrated activities will be
conducted to develop pre- writing skills.)

Period- 1
Detail planning:
• Teacher will start the class with greeting, asking about today’s
date and day also about weather outside.

• Teacher will begin the with a good morning song from the

• Teacher will motivate the children to sing, dance and enjoy the
video.

• Introducing capital letters with small letters. (todays letters-

• (Note: teacher has take random letters so that she can
interconnect the topic with other subjects.)

Teacher will interact with the children asking following


question to start the topic.
1. What did you have in your Breakfast?
2. What do you think ,is it healthy food or junk food (this
question will relate to child’s breakfast)? (teacher will
explain the meaning of junk.)
3. Do you know which one are the healthy food?....after
children’s answer yes, fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs are the
healthy food.
4. Can you tell me few names of fruits?
(note: Teacher will use polite words like:’ can you’, ‘could you’,
‘please’, ‘may I’ ‘thank you’ so that child can listen and will use polite
words while speaking with others.)

Teacher will bring toy fruits or show images or flash cards of Apple,
Orange, Grapes, watermelon, kiwi.
She will ask students to guess the names of fruits.
(Note: while guessing the names teacher will make sure that children
are giving answer in full sentences. E.g. this is an apple, these are
grapes, teacher can also ask more questions about their colour, taste,
their favourite fruit etc. to improve their communication skill.)
Then she will ask about the starting letter of the fruit and sound of the
letter. As the children says the starting letter, she will ask them to find
that letter from flash card basket and give it to her. (teacher will keep
the capital letters flash cards in the basket). E.g. Apple – A. she will
then introduced small letter with that by showing flash card.
By showing both capital and small letter flash card, she will ask
children if they know about more things with starting same letter.

related vocabulary (like: book, desk, chalk, bottles etc.)

Activity should be taken on playground or in empty hall.
In this activity teacher will draw 5 big circles at the distance on floor
with colour chalk.
In each circle she will write capital letter with small letter with chalk.

Children will be standing in a row. Teacher will call out the sound of
the letter or vocabulary or she can show things related to the letters.
Then the child has to find the circle related to the letter and should
stand in that circle (teacher will tell other children to observe) (e.g. if
teacher said Lamp then child should stand in L letter circle.) after that
the same child will go and draw the same letter in rangoli/ sand tray.
Simultaneously, teacher will play this game with next child.

After children’s turn teacher will introduce more vocabulary related
