The Masterflex ‘’S’’ series is a flexible spiral square tube used as a reinforcing hat section stiffener on the
backside of the tool face. Masterflex stiffens the tool face to avoid dimensional stability problems. This is
achieved by overlaying our tooling prepreg or wet lay-up plies over the Masterflex. They are constructed of
spirally woven pre-stiffened carbon or fibreglass cloth and are easily conformable to the mold configuration.

DESCRIPTION
Impression Master was developed by Lockheed Martin Company in conjunction with Wright Patterson Air
Force Base, to design inexpensive re-usable tooling. Impression Master, under license from Lockheed Martin
is a silicone rubber bag filled with a conforming material that can, under vacuum, take a duplicate impression
of any surface. To repair a damaged part, Impression Master is placed over a ‘’good’’ part on a plane, car, etc.
Impression Master will form to the ‘’good’’ part and hold its shape. A repair can then be made on the Impression
Master with the damaged part. The repair is made, vacuum bagged to a Viton rubber strip on the face of the
Impression Master and heated in an oven or with a conventional hot bond unit. When vacuum is released, the
Impression Master returns to the original, soft form, ready to be used again.
