Committee – UNOOSA
Agenda - Planning the movement of people between Earth and Mars
Date – 29th April, 2040
Summary
Humanity has made leaps and bounds in the domain of space exploration with currently 50,000
researchers and scientists residing on Mars on several outposts and base camps. As discussed in
the committee, huge investments in this field will be required for the full colonization of Mars.
UNOOSA’s focus should be on developing sustainable technologies and practises that minimize
negative impact on Earth and Mars, thus ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals
involved. The system Architecture of Flight to Mars was also intensively discussed in the
committee yesterday, with the delegates reaching the consensus of calculating the route of least
fuel usage, hence, minimizing our carbon footprints. In conclusion, space exploration and
colonization have the potential to bring significant benefits to humanity.
I. Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should be in the age group of 26-40
- Able to pass psychological, physical fitness, and social tests conducted by UNPSA
- The program should include training on living in a reduced gravity environment,
conducting scientific experiments, and emergency procedures.
VI. Trajectory
- A minimum fuel using conjunction class trajectory is used.
- The conjunction class trajectory makes travel time in space less reducing health
impacts. Such a trajectory carries greater payloads and enables people to spend
more time on Mars which allows them to aptly judge if they want to stay.
- Upon returning to Earth, rockets carry returning passengers and resources from
Mars which make up for the lack of them on Earth.
