Overview
The K4vu is a multi-platform keyboard, mouse, digital video and audio switch. It allows up to
four computers to be controlled from a single keyboard, mouse and monitor and will mix or
switch four sources of audio to one pair of powered speakers. It is designed for professional
use in any 'mission critical' environment where reliability is paramount and keyboard and
mouse lock-ups cannot be tolerated.

Dual Head digital video switching

The K4vu fully supports dual head video sources on each of it's four channels. The video
signals can be either analogue or digital and the K4vu video switching system manages all
monitor EDID (data channel) information ensuring that the connected computers always
have accurate data regarding the monitors attached to the K4vu video outputs.

Connections
Any combination of USB, PS/2 and Sun format computers can be connected to the K4u rear
panel. A USB, PS/2 and Sun keyboard and mouse can be connected to the K4u front panel.

Channel Selection
Channel changing is accomplished using either a three-button mouse, a keyboard hot-key
combination or an optional 4-button controller (shown on the next page).

Smart Detection
The K4vu's advanced internal system code fully emulates the appropriate keyboard and
mouse protocol without relying on OS hot-plug capability. It automatically senses the kind
of device attached and configures itself without service interruption. Any mix of USB, PS/2 or Sun
workstations / servers
