Hi, I am Thien An, you can call me by my English name Lucy. I was born in Ho Chi Minh
City, but I relocated to Quang Ngai when I was 10 years old. I'm 20 years old and I'm
currently studying at a prestigious university which is University of Economics Ho Chi Minh
City. My major is Business English. The reason I chose this major is because I really like
learning English, I've been studying English since I was 7 years old and I also majored in
English at Le Khiet High School for the Gifted. Another plus point is that my university
entrance exam score is 9.8 in English. I personally believe that I’m an open-minded, easy-
going and optimistic person. Additionally, I really enjoy teaching children and I have 1 year
of teaching experience in a platform similar to this. I believe that with my skill and my
passion, I can give students good knowledge and expereience in English. So, you know, my
learning is 100% in English so I have to keep practicing English every single day. I believe
this job will be an opportunity for me to develop myself as well as earn extra income to cover

you first. My hobby is following the study abroad life of Korean, American, British, German

I have a close friend who specializes in Physics, he is very bad at English. He was afraid he
would fail English in the university entrance exam and asked me to help him. After a long
process full of hardships and arguments between him and me, he got 9. And the difference in

What salary do you want?
My old company salary is 53000 for 45 minutes. I agreed with this salary because at that time
I had no experience and had to learn many other skills. Currently, I think I have enough
experience and skills to serve the job. Therefore, I hope to receive a salary more worthy of
my abilities.
I want to receive a salary suitable to my abilities. I think with 1 year of accumulated
experience at my old company, I will bring a lot of value to my company. If possible, I would
like to hear your salary quote first.
Have you done this job before? Do you have previous tutoring experience? (Bạn từng

Previously, I worked as a tutor at two similar platforms, Kyna English and Edupia. The job
will be to teach children from 4-16 years old based on lesson plans available from the center
and evaluate their learning progress. In addition, I also tutored two students at home and a
friend of mine who achieved nine points in the national high school exam.

I took the Ielts before however I only received a 5.5 overall score. So, over the past time, I
have worked hard to practice and study to improve my knowledge. I think I will try the
TOEIC test in the near future.
What's your schedule like? Can you arrange it? (Lịch học của bạn như thế nào? Bạn có

I only study on Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Saturday
afternoon. Other hours I'm free so I don't think the timetable is a problem.
Why do you think children need to learn English? (Bạn nghĩ tại sao học sinh lại cần học
tiếng Anh?)

Because English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. English is also a
compulsory subject in school. Studying English can help them get a good job and meet new
people. Learning English, they can introduce every beautiful things, places,... to internaional
friends from another countries.

How would you convince a student to complete an assignment which they didn’t want to
do?
If a student resisted /rɪˈzɪstid/ completing an assignment, I would ask them a couple of
questions to determine why they were reluctant to do the work. I would then have a
conversation with them expressing why the assignment was important, and what benefits they
will receive by completing it. If necessary, I would develop an extra incentive I could offer
them to finish the work.
Why do you want to be an English teacher? What is your motivation? (Vì sao bạn muốn

To be honest, my main goal when applying for this job is to earn extra income, because my
family condition is not so good. But the reason I chose this job over other jobs is because I
love children very much, I want to impart to them the vast knowledge of English. Besides, I
also want to improve my English skills because my learning is entirely in English.
What are your long term goals?
I want to bring more than what is predictable of me. As for the long term goal, I look for
bigger targets so that I can incessantly test myself. I need to figure myself during these years
so that when the superior targets are put, I can carry the best outcomes.
In your opinion, what is the method of teaching English to students? Why? (Theo bạn,

Learning with practice is the motto /ˈmɒt.əʊ/ that I always pursue in the process of teaching
English. Not only asking students to memorize new words or grammar, I always try to create
righteous /ˈraɪ.tʃəs/ activities in my class so that students can practice their English listening
and speaking skills such as Remembering pictures, Word masking,...
What difficulties have you encountered when teaching in class? (Khó khăn bạn từng
gặp phải khi dạy ở lớp là gì?)
The biggest difficulty when teaching English is for students who lack confidence. In fact,
English must speak a lot, must be confident to speak in front of people to be able to improve.
However, there are students who are too timid and refuse to communicate in English even
when asked. I always try to put weak students in the same group with more skilled students
so that they can help each other to improve.
What will you do when the students' foreign language ability never improves? (Bạn sẽ

I will not focus on punishing students. Instead, I will encourage students that everyone has
the ability to learn English and I will invest my time helping students overcome difficulties to
participate better in the lesson.
How do you manage a classroom? (Bạn quản lý lớp học như thế nào?)
Managing an entire preschool classroom is a challenge, I have to respect them and make sure
my behavior is appropriate, not to scare them. The way to manage success is to always
control the classroom while maintaining interesting learning activities that encourage
children. The classroom is a learning environment designed to help children learn while
playing.
What supports need to be in place for you to be a successful English teacher? (Điều gì sẽ
giúp bạn trở thành một giáo viên tiếng Anh thành công?)
I think the most important thing is to build relations with your students. If you have a really
healthy and caring relationship with your students, you will definitely influence their attitude,
behavior and life quality. It is sensible to set a positive teacher-student relation to establish
beneficial learning climate where the student is willing to perform, is not being shy and
receives the support.
What techniques will you use to test your Speaking skills? (Những kỹ thuật bạn sẽ sử
dụng để kiểm tra kỹ năng Speaking?)
I think I will use the techniques “learn words in groups”. For example, learn drinks as a glass
of wine, a cup of tea, a pot of coffee, rather than simply memorizing tea, coffee, wine. It will
be more useful to learn related words together.
What do you think the most important purpose of learning English should be? Serve
communication and work or get high scores? Why? (Bạn cho rằng mục đích quan trọng
nhất của việc học tiếng Anh nên là gì? Phục vụ giao tiếp và làm việc hay thi lấy điểm

I think both are important because when you get high scores, you can graduate with a good
degree, and if you have a good communication skill, you will be able to answer interviews
smoothly and get a good job with high salary.
What is your golden rule in the classroom? (Nguyên tắc vàng của bạn trong lớp học là
gì?)
My golden rule is “be on time for any duties”. I want my students to complete assignments on
time, because that will help their working style become more professional, more appreciated
by others, making the learning process smoother.
