Semi-detailed Lesson Plan


in English 9

Values Integration: Through this lesson, this can provide a collaboration between students and
have a richer understanding of the kinds of Adverbs.

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
 identify the different types of adverbs,
 distinguish adverbs and its type in sentences, and
 write different types of adverbs in a sentence.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Adverb/ Kinds of Adverbs
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Television, and Laptop
Reference: English 9- Module

III. Procedure

A. Activity
 The teacher starts with a prayer, greets the students, and asks who is/are
absent.
 She starts the class with a game called “Jumbled Word Game”.
 She tells the mechanics of the game.
 Here are the jumbled words:
a. Imet- Time
b. Cealp- Place
c. Rennam- Manner
d. Cyfrequen- Frequency
e. Reedeg- Degree
f. Poserup- Purpose
g. Interrotionga- Interrogation
B. Analysis
 She asks the students what are their ideas about the jumbled words.
 She introduces the topic.

C. Abstraction/ Discussion
 She discusses the lesson about- Adverbs
 She discusses the types/ kinds of adverbs (adverb of time, place, manner,
frequency, degree, purpose, and interrogation).
 She provides an example on each adverb (adverb of time, place, manner,
frequency, degree, purpose, and interrogation).
 She asks the students what they have learned all throughout the discussion.
 She lets the students recaps the discussion.

D. Application
 She conducts an activity called “Pass the Ball”.
 She explains the instruction.
Instruction: You need to pass the ball, and when the music stops, you will
answer the question.

Here are the possible sentences that they need to answer:


a. She passed the exam easily.
b. I am going on vacation for a week.
c. The kids are playing near the house.
d. Since its your birthday, I will give you a gift.
e. John rarely goes out to party with her friends.
f. He eats junk food way too much.
g. Where did the Queen go?

IV. Evaluation
I. Instruction: On a ½ sheet of paper, underline the adverb that is present in a sentence
and identify what kind of adverb is used. (adverb of time, place, manner, frequency,
degree, purpose, and interrogation).

1. Why is the garden in such mess?


2. He waited patiently for his mother to arrive.
3. She came home late.
4. I have always wanted to go on a roller coaster ride.
5. I was sick, thus didn’t go to school today.
6. The little boy smiled awkwardly after having pushed down a rack of toys.
7. The teacher was highly appreciated for her constant efforts in teaching.
8. I saw Jungkook today.
9. New York is located north of Philadelphia.
10. Tom searched everywhere for the missing key.
II. Construct at least two (2) sentences of your chosen adverb. (adverb of time, place,
manner, frequency, degree, purpose, and interrogation).

V. Assignment
