MOTIVATION

Learning task: Flip Flop Match!

Alright, everyone! To start off today's lesson,

we're playing the 'Flip Flop Match' game. Each
member of the group will have their chance to flip (The students will participate in the game)
over two cards at a time, but remember, you won't
get another turn until the cycle ends. Speed is key,
so the faster you match, the better! The student
who completes all pairs the quickest will earn a
special reward for their group. Let's find out who's
got the sharpest memory and quickest reflexes!
Ready? Let's flip and match!
( Students’ answer must be)

Well done! Thank you.

Okay, class before we start our activity, here are

our objectives for today. At the end of the
lesson, you are expected to:
 identify the types of logos by
categorizing them based on their
design elements;
 appreciate the importance of a logo in
representing individual or group
identity; and
 demonstrate ability in logo design
principles by creating a personal or
class logo using appropriate design
tools (phone application)

ACTIVITY

Learning task: LOGO QUEST

Alright, class! I've got a super exciting activity

planned for you today that's going to make you
logo design experts in no time!

But first, let's get into our groups. I've printed out
some handouts for each group. You're going to
love these! (students going to their respective groups)

The first thing we're going to do is a word search.

You'll need to find 7 words that are connected to
our topic hidden in the grid of letters. And don't (students are listening carefully to the instruction)
[email protected] | +639452436763
worry, I've provided definitions for each to help
you out.

Once you've finished the word search, flip over to

the next page. Your task is to look at a list of
establishments that currently don't have a logo to
represent their identity. Your job is to choose the
most appropriate logo for each establishment to
help customers identify the products and services
they offer.

Group up and grab your handouts. Today's lesson

is going to be a blast! (Each group will receive a handout)

HANDOUT:

The answers of each group must be:

Task 1:

Task 2:
1. B.
2. C.
3. D.
4. A.
5. E.

Did you find the activity enjoyable?

Yes sir!
Excellent!
From our first task, what do you think is the
relevance of the words that you have searched? Those are the different types of logo

Thank you. Well done.

What do you think is the importance of
distinguishing the logo according to the different (student’s answers may vary)
types that we’ve mentioned earlier?

Very good, thank you.

ANALYSIS

Okay, so let’s now head on to our discussion

proper. Again, our topic for today is all about logo
design.

Let us define first what a logo is. Anyone? A logo is an image that symbolizes a business,
organization, institution, and other entities, serving
as a visual representation of their identity, values,
and offerings.
That is correct. Thank you.

A logo is a combination of text and visual imagery

that serves two purposes. It tells people the name
of the company and it creates a visual symbol that
represents your business. Some logos have a
powerful symbolic association connected to
people’s memory.

Okay, so as mentioned earlier, we have seven Seven Types of Logo:

types of logo. Again, what are those? 1. Monogram logos, also known as
lettermarks, are logos that consist of letters,
usually brand initials.
e.g.

2. Wordmarks or logotypes are font-based

logos that focus on a business name alone.
e.g.

3. Pictorial marks or logo symbols are icons

or graphic-based logos.
e.g.

4. Abstract logo marks condense your brand

into a single image. They allow you to
create something unique that represents
your brand.
e.g.

5. Mascots are logos that involve an

illustrated character.
e.g.

6. A combination mark is a logo that consists
of a combined wordmark or lettermark and
a pictorial mark, abstract mark, or mascot.
e.g.

7. Emblems consist of a font inside a symbol

or an icon. Think of badges, seals, and
crests.
e.g.

Well said. Thank you.

After discussing various types of logos, let's talk

about the topic of logo design. A logo serves as
the face of a company and is much more than just
an image. It is a crucial aspect of brand
recognition for clients and plays a major role in
establishing the identity of your business. A well-
designed logo can easily communicate to potential
customers that your company is professional,
reliable, and offers high-quality goods and
services.

That being said, what do you think are the things (Students’ answers may vary)
that we need to remember or consider in designing
our logo?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

The key factors in creating a logo include
relevance, description, memorable, scalable, and
effective without color.

Who can expound to me the thought of these key Key Factors in Creating a Logo:
factors? 1. Relevant/Appropriate- Your logo should
be an appropriate reflection of your
industry, suitable for its intended audience.
2. Describable/Legible- Provide a solid
version of your logo without excess effects.
A logo has clear lines that the viewer can
identify before losing interest in complex
artistry.
3. Memorable/Timeless- Your logo is useless
if your target market can’t remember it.
That’s why a simple, original design is most
effective.
4. Effective Without Color- Prepare a black-
and-white version of your logo. This not
only ensures your logo is readable and
effective in black-and-white print ads but is
also important for certain promotional
supplies where your logo can only be 1
color.
5. Scalable/Versatile- Logos should be
simple and easy to reproduce across a
variety of media and applications

Excellent, Thank you!

Now, since all of you know some of the basics of

logo designing, we should practice creating our
unique piece of design work known as
“Sketching”. After finalizing our thoughts we can
layout our work in different software and mobile
applications.

Who can give me examples of these? We can layout our logo in our computer with
photoshop while we can use picsart in our mobile
phones.

Nice. It is good that all of you are already familiar

with our modern technology.

ABSTRACTION

We are finished with our discussion, are there any None sir.
clarifications or queries in your mind?

Well then, I have some questions here.

Can you recall a logo that has elicited effectively (Students’ answers may vary)
the message it communicates? Expound.

Thank you.

Another one is, do you think logos have the power (Students’ answers may vary)
to influence people’s perceptions of a brand? Why
or why not?

Correct, thank you!

Lastly, how important do you think it is for a (Students’ answers may vary)
logo to represent the values and identity of the
company it represents?

Excellent. Thank you!
