Hotels Total Climates

Based on the given data, the recommendations to set up a hotel are as follows

1) Arunachal Pradesh

• Hotels: 5,000
• Climates: Subtropical Humid, Mountain Climate
• Monsoon Duration: 136 days (01-Jun to 15-Oct)
• Recommendation: Arunachal Pradesh offers a unique blend of climates and a rich
cultural heritage. The dual climate makes it attractive for tourists year-round. The
state's scenic beauty and adventure tourism potential make it an excellent investment
destination. The lower number of hotels suggests less competition and room for
growth.

2) Meghalaya

• Hotels: 2,000
• Climate: Subtropical Humid
• Monsoon Duration: 136 days (01-Jun to 15-Oct)
• Recommendation: Known as the "Abode of Clouds," Meghalaya is famous for its
natural beauty, waterfalls, and living root bridges. Meghalaya presents opportunities
for cultural and ecological tourism. The state's moderate hotel count and unique
attractions offer good investment potential in boutique and nature-centric hospitality
ventures. Adjacent to Assam helps in redirecting tourists to Meghalaya, as tourists
footfall is higher in Assam. Also, less number of hotels indicates potential growth for
the hotel industry.

Q5) Which is the best state for setting up a hotel? Why?
we need to consider not only the number of existing hotels but also factors such as tourist attractions,
tourism demand, infrastructure, growth potential, and competition.

Key Metrics:

1. Number of Hotels: Indicates the existing competition.

2. Number of Tourist Attractions: Indicates potential tourist inflow.
3. Other Factors: Infrastructure, connectivity, economic conditions, and government support.

Top States for Hotel Investment:

Tamil Nadu – No. of Hotels: 116,000

• Tourist Attractions: 200+

• Advantages:
o Highest number of tourist attractions.
o Strong infrastructure and connectivity.
o High cultural and heritage significance.
• Considerations:
o High competition due to the large number of existing hotels.

Kerala – No. of Hotels: 672,000

• Tourist Attractions: 100+

• Advantages:
o High tourist inflow due to natural beauty and backwaters.
o Strong tourism infrastructure and hospitality sector.
• Considerations:
o Extremely high competition; the market is already saturated.

Maharashtra – No. of Hotels: 102,000

• Tourist Attractions: 150+

• Advantages:
o Major cities like Mumbai, Pune attract international tourists.
o Strong economic conditions and infrastructure.
• Considerations:
o High competition but balanced with high demand.

Rajasthan – No. of Hotels: 72,000

• Tourist Attractions: 150+

• Advantages:
o Known for heritage tourism (palaces, forts).
o Consistent tourist inflow throughout the year.
• Considerations:
o Moderate competition, niche market for luxury and heritage hotels.

Karnataka – No. of Hotels: 40,000

• Tourist Attractions: 150+

• Advantages:
o Mix of natural and cultural attractions.
o Emerging technology and business hubs like Bangalore.
• Considerations:
o Lower competition compared to the tourist attractions.

Karnataka stands out as a balanced option for setting up a hotel. Because of the following
Moderate Competition: With 40,000 hotels, the competition is manageable compared to Tamil Nadu
and Kerala.
High Number of Tourist Attractions: 150 tourist attractions indicate a steady inflow of tourists.
Economic and Infrastructure Growth: Bangalore, being a tech hub, brings in business tourists as
well as leisure tourists. The overall infrastructure in Karnataka is improving, and there’s significant
potential for growth.
