Useful organizations, publications, and conferences are listed here. Find complete information at the given Internet
addresses. Tables are given for general organizations, organizations specializing in specific technologies, organizations
specific to chemical process industry (CPI) sectors, for-profit magazines, industry exhibitions, and user group
conferences.
Table A.1 lists a few of the major associations along with their leading publications. Each of these groups has annual (or
more frequent) conferences. They provide numerous benefits to members; every chemical engineer should consider
joining. For example, American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)
provide access to the Knovel digital library containing dozens of books for chemical engineers.
Table A.2 is organized like the chapters in this book, with trade and manufacturer organizations dedicated to specific
technologies. Most of these groups publish a magazine or journal and provide technical resources for their members, and in
some cases to all interested parties. They generally host an annual conference; many conduct seminars.
Table A.3 identifies organizations that are associated with specific segments of the CPI. These groups have various aims
ranging from lobbying to dissemination of technical information. They all have annual conferences, publish magazines, and
provide resources for their members.
Table A.4 lists some of the leading magazines intended for technical audiences working in the chemical process
industries. These are not associated with specific nonprofit associations.
Table A.5 lists major trade shows and exhibitions that cater to chemical engineers.
Table A.6 shows some of the major user group conferences where users of specific tools, often a proprietary brand,
gather to share case histories, application notes, add-on products, etc.
