Foreword

This Code was developed by China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and
Design Association and National Administrative Center of Standardization of Chemical
Construction jointly with organizations concerned according to the requirements of "Notice
on Printing <2008 Development and Revision Plan (Second Batch) of National Standards Of
Engineering Construction> ( JIANBIAO 2008] No. 105) of Ministry of Housing and
Urban-Rural Development.
During the process of formulating this Code, after extensive investigation and careful
summarization of practical experience, with reference to relevant international and foreign
advanced standards and based on widely soliciting opinions, the drafting group finalized this
code finally through review.
This code consists of 15 chapters and 4 appendixes, with the main contents as follows:
general provisions, terms, basic requirements, matrix face treatment, block lining, lining of
fiber reinforced plastics, rubber lining, plastic lining, lining of glass flake, lead lining, lining
of spray coating polyurea, lining of neoprene latex cement mortar, paint coating, thermal
sprayed metal coating and subsection (sub-subsection) project acceptance etc.
Provisions printed in bold type in this code are mandatory ones and must be enforced
strictly.
Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of
this standard and the explanation of the compulsory provisions, China Association of
Engineering Construction Standardization - Chemical Engineering Subcommittee is
responsible for the routine management and National Administrative Center of
Standardization of Chemical Construction is responsible for the explanation of specific
technical contents. During the process of implementing this Code, if there are any comments

1 General Provisions

1.0.1 This code was prepared with a view to unify the methods for industrial equipment and
pipeline anti-corrosion quality acceptance of project construction, strengthen technical
management and construction process control, strengthen acceptance and guarantee
engineering quality.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to quality acceptance for newly-built, renovated and extended
steel- and cast iron-manufactured industrial equipment and pipeline anti-corrosion project
construction.
1.0.3 This Code shall be applied matching the current national standards "Unified Standard
for Constructional Quality Acceptance of Industrial Installation Engineering" (GB 50252) and
"Code for Anticorrosive Engineering Construction of Industrial Equipment and Pipeline" (GB
50726).
1.0.4 The quality acceptance of industrial equipment and pipeline anti-corrosion project
construction shall not only the requirements stipulated in this code but also comply with those
in the current relevant ones of the nation.

2 Terms

2.0.1 Inspection lot


It refers to the inspection body summarized according to the same production conditions
or provisions and comprising of certain quantity of samples.
2.0.2 Allowable deviation
It refers to the deviation that the check point is allowed to fall in the testing ratio scope
specified in this code under the premise of the satisfiable works safety and use functions in
the test process.
2.0.3 Visual inspection
It refers to the process in which visual observation is applied to judge whether the
inspected object meets the technical parameters specified in the Code.
2.0.4 Random examination
It refers to the examination with certain specific items randomly taken to a scale among
the designated inspection lot, which is also called sampling inspection.

3 Basic Requirements

3.1 Division for Acceptance of Constructional Quality


3.1.1 Quality acceptance for industrial equipment and pipeline anti-corrosion project
construction may be divided according to inspection lot, sub-item project and subsection
(sub-subsection) project.
3.1.2 As for the division of inspection lot, one piece of equipment shall be put into an
inspection lot; the pipeline may be put into an inspection lot for the inspection of the same
system or same media, same pressure rating or the same batch.
3.1.3 Sub-item project may comprise of one or several inspection lots. Equipment shall be
classified according to set (piece) of the category of major anti corrosives, and the matrix face
treatment may separately constitute sub-item project.
3.1.4 The industrial equipment and pipeline anti-corrosion project in the same unit
construction may be put into one subsection project or multiple sub-subsection projects.
3.2 Acceptance of Constructional Quality
3.2.1 The qualified requirements for quality acceptance of inspection lot are as follows:
1 Dominant item shall meet the requirements of this Code;
2 The position (point) for each random inspection of general item shall meet the
requirements of this Code; as for the items with allowable deviation requirements, among the
points in each random inspection, the actual measured value not less than 80% shall fall
within the scope of allowable deviation specified in this Code;
3 Inspection lot quality assurance materials shall be complete.
3.2.2 To pass the quality acceptance, sub-item projects shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Inspection lot in the sub-item project shall meet the requirements of qualified quality;
2 Inspection lot quality assurance materials for the sub-item project shall be complete.
3.2.3 To pass quality acceptance, the subsection (sub-subsection) project shall meet the
following requirements:
1 The quality of the sub-item project in the subsection (sub-subsection) project shall meet
the requirements to pass acceptance;
2 The quality guarantee materials of the sub-item project in the subsection
(sub-subsection) project shall be complete.
3.2.4 Anticorrosive engineering quality acceptance record shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Quality acceptance record of inspection lot shall adopt the format in Appendix A of this
Code;
2 Quality acceptance records of sub-item project shall adopt the format in Appendix B of
this Code;
3 Quality acceptance record of subsection (sub-subsection) project shall adopt the format
in Appendix C of this Code;

4 Verification record for the quality assurance materials shall adopt the format in
Appendix D of this Code.
3.2.5 Where the anticorrosive engineering quality of inspection lots does not conform to this
Code, treatment shall be conducted according to the following requirements:
1 Inspection lots after rework or repair shall be subject to reacceptance.
2 Inspection lot which can meet the design requirements according to the evaluation by
qualified inspection organizations shall be subject to acceptance;
3 Inspection lot which cannot meet the design requirements according to the evaluation
by qualified inspection organizations, but it is authorized according to the calculation of the
original design organization, and can meet the structural safety and use functions may be
subject to acceptance;
4 The sub-item and subsection project after repair treatment which can meet the safety
requirements may be subject to acceptance according to technical processing scheme and
negotiated document.
3.2.6 The works which cannot meet safety requirements after repair treatment are strictly
forbidden to be accepted.
3.2.7 The performance inspection and reinspection report for site sampling shall be issued
by quality detection department with qualification.
3.3 Procedure and Organization for Acceptance of Constructional Quality
3.3.1 The quality acceptance procedure of industrial equipment and pipeline anti-corrosion
project shall be conducted according to inspection lot, sub-item project and subsection
(sub-subsection) project successively.
3.3.2 The quality acceptance of inspection lot for shall meet the following requirements:
1 Quality acceptance of inspection lot shall be work team self-inspection organized by
the technical principal of sub-item project of construction organization, and the professional
quality inspector of construction organization fills in the quality acceptance record of
inspection lot;
2 The professional technical principal (supervising engineer) of development organization
organized professional quality inspectors of the construction organization to conduct
acceptance.
3.3.3 The quality acceptance of sub-item project shall meet the following requirements:
1 Sub-item project quality acceptance shall be subject to inspection organized by the
technical principal of subsection project of construction organization, and professional quality
inspectors fill in quality acceptance records of sub-item project;
2 The professional technical principal (supervising engineer) of development
organization organizes professional technical principal of the construction organization to
conduct acceptance.
3.3.4 The quality acceptance of subsection (sub-subsection) project shall meet the following
requirements:
1 As for the quality acceptance of subsection (sub-subsection) project, the project
principal of construction organization shall voluntarily organize the persons concerned to
conduct inspection, and based on qualified self-inspection, the technical project principal of
the construction organization fills in the quality acceptance record of subsection
(sub-subsection) project;

2 Project principal of the construction organization (general supervision engineer)
organized the project manager and technical, quality director etc. of the construction
organization to conduct acceptance.
3.3.5 Where anticorrosive engineering is constructed by subcontractor, its General
Contractor shall be fully responsible for the quality. Subcontractor shall conduct inspection
and acceptance on the contracting works according to the procedure specified in this Code.
On completion of sub-contract project, the relevant information on the project shall be
delivered to the General Contractor.

4 Pretreatment of Matrix Face

4.1 General Requirements


4.1.1 This Chapter is applicable to the construction quality acceptance of matrix face
treatment.
4.1.2 The inspection quantity of matrix face treatment project shall meet the following
requirements:
1 As for the matrix face treatment area less than or equal to 10m2, 3 positions shall be
randomly inspected; as for the matrix face treatment area over 10m2, one more position shall
be subject to random inspection with the increase of every 10m2, for that less than 10m2, it
shall be counted as 10m2; and for each position, the measuring points shall not be less than 3;
2 Where the matric face is under metal hot spraying, complete inspection shall be
conducted.
4.2 Treatment of Jet or Projectile
(I) Dominant Item
4.2.1 The quality of matrix face after jet or projectile treatment shall meet the following
requirements:
1 The quality grade of matrix face treatment shall meet the requirements of Grade Sa l,

Grade Sa 2, Grade Sa 2 or Grade Sa 3 in the current national standard "Preparation of Steel

Substrates Before Application of Paints and Related Products - Visual Assessment of Surface
Cleanliness - Part 1: Rust Grades and Preparation Grades of Uncoated Steel Substrates and of
Steel Substrates After Overall Removal of Previous" (GB/T 8923.1);
2 Quality of matrix face treatment shall meet the design requirements; unless otherwise
stated by the design, it shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 4.2.1.

Inspection method: observing and comparing the standard photos for different grades.
4.2.2 Grinding material shall meet the design requirements and shall be provided with
certain hardness and impact ductility; the grinding material shall be purified and shall be free
from oil contamination, its water content shall not be greater than 1%.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site

sampling re-inspection report.
4.2.3 As for the thread, sealing surface and smooth surface, measures shall be taken to
perform protection and mistaken spray is forbidden.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
(II) General Item
4.2.4 Matrix face roughness grade after spray treatment shall be in accordance with those
specified in Table 4.2.4.

Inspection method: conducting visual inspection with standard template


4.2.5 Where the difference between dew point temperature and matrix face temperature is
less than or equal to 3℃, jet or projectile operation shall be stopped.
Inspection method: conduct visual inspection and check dew point temperature.
4.2.6 Matrix face after jet or projectile shall be free from damping.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
4.3 Treatment of Tool for Hand Operated or Power Operated
Dominant Item
4.3.1 Matrix face quality grade after manual treatment or treatment with power tools shall
meet the requirements of Grade St2 and Grade St3 in the current national standard
"Preparation of Steel Substrates Before Application of Paints and Related Products - Visual
Assessment of Surface Cleanliness - Part 1: Rust Grades and Preparation Grades of Uncoated
Steel Substrates and of Steel Substrates After Overall Removal of Previous" (GB/T 8923.1);
Inspection method: observing and comparing the standard photos for various grades.

5 Block lining

5.1 General Requirements


5.1.1 This Section is applicable to the construction quality acceptance of equipment,
pipeline and pipe fitting of sodium silicate daub and masonry-lined block by resin daub.
5.1.2 The inspection quantity for block lining engineering quality shall meet those specified
in Article 4.1.2 of this Code.
5.1.3 The inspection quantity for the material, specification and performance of block
materials shall meet the following requirements:
1 Random inspection shall be conducted in accordance with the different materials
according to design requirements from the arrive materials of each batch size;
2 The sampling of acid resistant brick and acid and heat resisting bricks shall be
performed according to the relevant requirements of the current national standard "Acid
Resisting Bricks and Tiles" (GB/T 8488), "Acid and Heat Resisting Bricks" (JC/T 424) and
"Cast Stone Products - Cast Stone Plates" (JC 514.1);
3 The sampling for acid resistance, volume density, apparent porosity, compression
strength and rupture strength of anticorrosive carbon brick shall be performed according to
the relevant requirements of the current national standards "Acid Resisting Bricks and Tiles"
(GB/T 8488), "Test Method For Bulk Density, Apparent Porosity and True Porosity of Dense
Shaped Refractory Products" (GB/T 2997), "Refractories - Determination of Cold
Compressive Strength" (GB/T 5072) and " Refractories - Determination of Cold Compressive
Strength" (GB/T 3001);
4. Where one item is unqualified in the sampling inspection results, one more
reinspection shall be conducted. Where still one index is unqualified, it shall be judged that
the product quality is unqualified.
5.1.4 Sampling quantity of water glass and resin main materials shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Three barrel is randomly sampled from each batch No. of barrels of water glass or resin,
the sample for each barrel is no less than 1000g, and may be tested after mixture; where this
batch No. is less than or equal to 3 barrels, one barrel may be randomly sampled and the
sample amount is no less than 3000g;
2 As for the fine materials, 3 bags shall be randomly sampled from each batch No. with
different particle diameter specification, with each bag no less than 1000g and the test may be
conducted after mixture; where this batch No. is less than or equal to 3bags, one bag may be
randomly sampled and the sample amount is no less than 3000g;
3 Where one item in the sampling inspection result is unqualified, another sampling
reinspection shall be conducted. Where still one index is unqualified, the product quality shall
be judged as unqualified.
5.1.5 Sampling quantity of the finished products of water glass and resin material shall meet
the following requirements:

1 Where test is needed before construction, sampling quantity of water glass, resin and
fine materials shall be performed according to the requirements of Article 5.1.4 in this Code,
and sampled according to the established construction mixture ratio and tested after curing;
2 Where the prepared materials need be tested, 3 dosing batches shall be randomly
sampled and the same specimen of each batch shall not be less than three. The sample
preparation of water glass shall be completed before initial setting. The material shall be
tested after curing;
3 One more sampling reinspection shall be conducted where one item in the testing
results is unqualified. Where still one index is unqualified, the product quality shall be judged
as unqualified.
5.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material and Manufactured Products
(I) Dominant Item
5.2.1 The variety, specification and grade of such block materials as acid resistant brick,
acid and heat resisting bricks, cast stone plates and anticorrosive carbon bricks shall meet the
design requirements.
Inspection method: inspect the product delivery certificate, material test report or
reinspection report.
5.2.2 The quality of such water glass raw materials as sodium water glass and potash water
glass and such resin raw materials as aerobond, vinyl ester resin, unsaturated polyester resin,
furan resin and phenolic resin.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site
sampling re-inspection report.
5.2.3 The filler shall be clean and dry, and the quality index shall meet the design
requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site
sampling re-inspection report.
5.2.4 The quality of sodium silicate daub shall meet the design requirements; unless
otherwise stated by the design, it shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 5.2.4.

Inspection method: inspecting the material test report or site sampling re-inspection

(II) General Item
5.2.6 The construction mixture ratio of water glass material and resinous material shall be
determined after field test.
Inspection method: inspecting test report.
5.3 Masonry-lining Block by Daut
(I) Dominant item
5.3.1 The block materials bonding course of cement lining shall be satiated, compact, firmly
bonded and completely solidified. Plane block material bricking-up is free from slippage, and
vertical plane block material bricking-up is free from deformation. Mortar joint shall be
squeezed tightly, satiated, the surface shall be smooth and free from crack and air hole.
Thickness and width of binding layer shall be in accordance with those specified in Table
5.3.1.

for examination; mortar joint examination may adopt inspection with a ruler and inspection

5.3.3 After the daub block lining was completed, in heat treatment, the temperature shall be
uniform and the local position(s) shall not be heated. Heat treatment temperature shall be
greater than the service temperature of medium.

5.3.4 After curing, the block lining engineering lined with sodium silicate daub shall be
subject to surface acidizing with the sulfuric acid at the concentration of 30%~40% until no
more white crystal is salted out. Acidizing frequency should not be less than 4 times. The
interval time for sodium silicate daub each time shall not be less than 8h; and that for the
potash water glass daub shall not be less than 4h. White precipitate on the surface shall be
cleared before each treatment.
Inspection method: inspecting construction record.
5.3.5 The height difference between adjacent blocks of block lining surface layer and the
surface smoothness shall meet the following requirements:
1 Height difference between adjacent brick-plates shall not be greater than 1mm;
2 The allowable spacing of the block lining surface smoothness shall not be greater than
4mm.
Inspection method: height difference shall be inspected by ruler, the surface evenness
shall be inspected with 2m straight ruler and wedged ruler.
5.3.6 Allowable deviation of block lining surface layer slope is ± 0.2 % of the slope length.
Inspection method: visual inspection, instrument inspection or water sprinkling test
inspection.

6 Lining of Fiber Reinforced Plastics

6.1 General Requirements


6.1.1 This Section is applicable to construction quality acceptance of lining of fiber
reinforced plastics.
6.1.2 Inspection quantity of lining of fiber reinforced plastics shall meet those specified in
Article 4.1.2 of this Code.
6.1.3 Sampling quantity of resin raw materials and finished products shall meet the
following requirements:
1 Sampling of resin raw materials and finished products shall meet those specified in
Articles 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 of this Code;
2 As for fibre strengthened materials, three coils shall be randomly sampled from each
batch No. with each coil no less than 1.0 m2; where this batch No. has less than or equal to 3
coils, one coil may be randomly sampled with the sample size no less than 3.0 m2.
6.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material and Manufactured Products
(I) Dominant item
6.2.1 The quality of resin raw materials and filling shall meet those specified in Articles
5.2.2 and 5.2.3 of this Code.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site
sampling re-inspection report.
6.2.2 The quality of fibre strengthened material shall meet the design requirements.

6.3 Lining

6.3.1 Gel content of glass fiber cloth in lining of fiber reinforced plastics shall not be less
than 45% , the gel content of glass fiber chopped strand mat shall not be less than 70 % and
that of glass fiber surfacing mat shall not be less than 85 %.
Inspection method: examination is conducted according to the relevant requirements of
the current national standard "Test Method for Resin Content of Glass Fiber Reinforced
Plastics" (GB/T 2577).
6.3.2 Appearance inspection of backing layer shall meet the following requirements:
1 The allowable maximum bubble diameter of lining surface shall be 3mm and the
number of bubbles with the diameter no greater than 3mm per square meter shall be less than
3. Lining surface shall be flat and smooth and free from whitening.
2 Bonding between backing layer and matrix shall be firm, and free from such
phenomena as layering, delamination, bare fiber and obviously irregular color and lustre.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
6.3.3 Thickness of backing layer shall meet the design requirements and the allowable
deviation shall be -0.2 mm.
Inspection method: inspecting construction records and inspecting with a magnetic
thickness tester.
6.3.4 Pinhole inspection shall be conducted on lining layer. In test, lining layer shall be free
from punch-through. Test voltage and travel speed of probe head shall be determined through
test according to different film thickness.
Inspection method: inspecting with a spark pinhole detector.
6.3.5 Examination on curing degree shall meet the following requirements:
1 Resin shall be solidified completely and the surface shall be free from such phenomena
as viscin thread or flowing.
Inspection method: examination is conducted by wiping method with white cotton ball
dipping acetone.
2 Resin solidification degree shall not be less than 85 % or shall meet the design
requirements.
Inspection method: conduct examination according to the relevant requirements of the
current national standard "Test Method for Hardness of Reinforced Plastics by Means of
Barcol Impresser" (GB/T 3854).
(II) General Item
6.3.6 Normal temperature curing time for lining of fibre reinforced plastics shall be in
accordance with those specified in Table 6.3.6.

6.3.7 In heat treatment of lining of fiber reinforced plastics, the temperature shall rise
according to the program and the temperature rise and decline speed shall be strictly

7 Rubber Lining

7.1 General Requirement


7.1.1 This Section is applicable to quality acceptance of rubber lining construction.
7.1.2 Inspection quantity of rubber lining works quality shall meet the requirements of
Article 4.1.2 in this Code.
(I) Dominant Item
7.1.3 Rubber-lined equipment, pipeline and pipe fitting shall meet the following
requirements:
1 For rubber-lined equipment with vulcanized body, strength and stiffness shall meet the
design requirements. Before construction of lining, pressure test certificate shall be presented.
Before rubber lining, interfaces of steam (gas) inlet pipe, thermometer, pressure gauge and
emptying pipe shall be selected. Condensate drain outlet shall be arranged at bottom.
2 For the internals of the equipment requiring lining, they shall meet the requirements of
rubber lining process. The weld shall be full weld, without gas cavity, sand hole, slag
inclusion or undercut greater than 1mm;
3 Manufacturing of the pipe fitting shall not only meet the relevant requirements of the
current national standard "Code for Construction of Industrial Metallic Piping Engineering"
(GB 50235), but also meet the following requirements:
1) Seamless pipe should be adopted as lining pipeline. Where cast iron pipe is adopted,
the inner wall shall be flat and smooth without such defects as sand hole, gas cavity, groove or
double skin;
2) Wrinkled bent pipe shall not be used as lining pipeline; seal groove shall not be
vehicle-made on flange sealing surface.
Inspection method: inspecting pressure test certificate and handover records of rubber
lining equipment and member, conducting visual inspection, and inspecting with a ruler and a
magnifier.
7.1.4 Rubber layer and metal surface of the following rubber lining products shall be free
from any disbonding;
1 Vacuum and pressure equipment, pipeline and pipe fitting;
2 Equipment, pipeline and pipe fitting with design temperature higher than 60℃;
3 Rubber lining products in need of cutting processing;
4 Rotating part of operating equipment;
5 Parts directly impacted by air flow and liquid flow and internal corner part;
6 Flange edge.
Inspection method: inspecting intermediate rubber lining inspection record and
construction record of the equipment.
(II) General Item
7.1.5 Ambient temperature of the construction should be 15 ℃ ~30 ℃ and the relative
ambient humidity should not be greater than 80%. Where the construction has relatively low
ambient temperature and relatively high humidity, heating and dehumidification measure shall

be taken;
Inspection method: inspecting with a thermometer and humidity meter and inspecting
construction record.
7.1.6 Construction of tank equipment lining should be conducted in the sequence of tank
wall, tank top and tank bottom.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting construction record
7.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material
Dominant Item
7.2.1 Quality of rubber plate and adhesive shall meet the design requirements or the relevant
requirements of the current national standard “Rubber Lining - Part 1: Anticorrosion Lining
for Equipment" (GB 18241.1).
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, and inspecting product delivery
certificate, material test report or site sampling re-inspection report.
7.2.2 Any rubber plate with such phenomena as prevulcanization and deterioration shall not
be used.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
7.2.3 Rubber plate beyond warranty period shall be subject to re-inspection and the rubber
plate rejected in re-inspection shall not be used.
Inspection method: inspecting re-inspection report.
7.2.4 The adhesive shall be free from such phenomenon as early cross-linking.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
7.3 Lining
(I) Dominant Item
7.3.1 Overlapping shall be adopted for the joint of the rubber lining. The overlapping
direction shall be consistent with the medium flow direction. Where the thickness of the
rubber plate is 2mm, the overlapping width shall be 20mm~25mm; where the thickness of
the rubber plate is 3mm, the overlapping width shall be 25mm~30mm; where the thickness of
the rubber plate is greater than or equal to 4mm, the overlapping width shall be 35mm. The
overlapping width at equipment corner shall be 50mm. During lining of multi-layer rubber
plate, joints of the upper layer and the lower layer shall be staggered and the staggered
distance shall not be less than 100mm.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
construction record.
7.3.2 T-shaped joint shall be adopted for the connector. The staggered distance of the
T-shaped joint shall be greater than 200mm and it shall be free from continuous joint.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
construction record.
7.3.3 After lining, the rubber plate shall be free from missing pressing and scraping; and air
between adhesive surfaces shall be emptied. The overlapping joint of the rubber plate shall be
pressed tightly and the edge shall have smooth transition, without upwarp, disbonding,
hollowing or other phenomena.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
by tapping with an inspection hammer.
7.3.4 Rubber plate lined to flange sealing surface shall be flat and smooth without radial

groove or bulge greater than 1mm.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
7.3.5 Flange rubber lining of equipment with sulfurized body shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Laying off shall be conducted according to outside diameter dimension of the flange,
its inside diameter dimension shall be 30mm~60mm larger than that of flange hole, and 30°
groove shall be made;
2 The flange surface-lined vulcanized rubber plate shall be pressed tightly. The
non-vulcanized rubber plate of flange pipe lining shall be turned to the upper edge of groove
of vulcanized rubber plate on flange surface (Figure 7.3.5) and pressed tightly. The overlap
joint shall not only be firmly bonded with the rubber plate on the bottom layer, but also be
smooth without phenomena such as warping, rag, hollowing or delamination.

7.3.6 After completion of the lining procedure, intermediate inspection shall be conducted
according to the following items:
1 Dimension of each part of rubber lining shall meet the requirements of the design
document;
2 The rubber layer shall be free from phenomena such as bubble and hollowing in the
inspection;
3 For the lining layer, pin hole inspection shall be conducted according to the
requirements of Article 7.3.7 in this Code;
4 Before overall inspection, intermediate inspection certification record of the
construction organization shall be presented;
5 The rubber plate can be sulfurized only after it passes the overall inspection.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a caliper, straight ruler
or tape and inspecting by tapping with an inspection hammer and inspecting intermediate
inspection record.
7.3.7 The rubber lining shall be subject to pinhole inspection; during the inspection, the
lining layer shall be free from punch-through.
Inspection method: inspecting with a spark detector, according to the relevant
requirements of the current national standard "Rubber Lining - Part 1: Anticorrosion Lining
for Equipment" (GB 18241.1).
7.3.8 Allowable deviation for thickness of rubber lining layer shall be +15%~-10%.
Inspection method: inspecting with a magnetic thickness tester and inspecting
construction record.

7.3.9 Hardness of the vulcanized rubber plate shall not only meet the relevant requirements
of the current national standard "Rubber Lining - Part 1: Anticorrosion Lining for Equipment"
(GB 18241.1), but also meet the following requirements:
1 Quantity of measuring points for hardness: for vulcanization of the vulcanizing tank,
quantity at each tank shall not be less than 5 points and arithmetic average shall be taken; for
the equipment with vulcanized body, no less than 2 places shall be taken at each rubber lining
surface, quantity of measuring points at each place shall be 3 and arithmetic average shall be
taken. The hot-water vulcanized and naturally vulcanized equipment may be conducted on the
test plate which is vulcanized together with the equipment, quantity of test plates at each
rubber lining surface shall not be less than 2 and quantity of measuring points at each test
plate shall not be less than 3 and arithmetic average shall be taken. The arithmetic average of
the above measuring points shall be within the range of the hardness value provided by the
rubber plate manufacturer;
2 Surface at the measuring point shall be flat and smooth, without phenomena such as
mechanical damage or foreign matter;
3 Environment of the measuring points shall meet the relevant requirements of the
current national standard "Rubber - General Procedures for Preparing and Conditioning Test
Pieces for Physical Test Methods" (GB/T 2941). The rubber plate manufacturer shall provide
hardness conversion tables of such rubber plate under different temperatures and standard
temperature.
Inspection method: conducting the inspection and inspecting construction record
according to the requirements of the current national standard "Rubber Vulcanized or
Thermoplastic - Determination of Indentation Hardness - Part 1: Duromerer Method (Shore
Hardness) (GB/T 531.1).
(II) General Item
7.3.10 Chamfered edge of rubber plate shall be straight and even with consistent width, and
width of its chamfered edge shall be 10mm~15mm. The included angle between the inclined
plane and bottom plane shall not be greater than 30°.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.

8 Lining of Plastics

8.1 General Requirement


8.1.1 Quality acceptance of plastic lining works shall include soft polyvinyl chloride plate
lined equipment, fluoroplastics lined equipment and plastic lined pipeline.
8.1.2 For inspection quantity of soft polyvinyl chloride plate lining equipment, 1 place shall
be randomly inspected per 5m2 lining area and quantity of measuring points at each place
shall not be less than 3; where the area is insufficient to 5m2, it may be calculated according
to 5m2.
8.1.3 For the fluoroplastics lining equipment, complete inspection shall be conducted for the
lining of each equipment.
8.1.4 For the inspection quantity of plastic lined pipeline, 10% shall be randomly inspected
according to the quantity of pipeline linings. The randomly inspected shall be provided with
straight pipe, pipe fitting and pipeline with maximum nominal dimension or maximum length
dimension.
(I) Dominant Item
8.1.5 Lining equipment and pipeline for pressure test shall meet the following requirements:
1 For plastic lining of pressure vessel, 1.25 times of the design pressure is taken as the
hydraulic pressure test pressure after the pressure maintains for 30min, it shall be free from
leakage and rupture phenomena;
2 For plastic lining of pressure piping, 1.5 times of the design pressure is taken as the
hydraulic pressure test pressure after the pressure maintains for 10min, it shall be free from
leakage and rupture phenomena;
3 Pressure gauge for all the pressure tests shall be within the verification validity
period.
Inspection method: inspecting pressure test report and water injection test report.
8.1.6 Before lining of flexible PVC lined equipment, leak detection hole shall be arranged at
equipment bottom and other places. Where the water injection test is conducted for 24h, the
leak detection hole shall be free from water seepage.
Inspection method: inspecting pressure test report and water injection test report.
8.1.7 The lining shall be intact without pinhole. During pinhole inspection, the inspection
voltage and travel speed of probe shall meet those specified in Table 8.1.7. The lining layer
shall be free from punch-through.

gap.

8.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material

8.2.1 Quality of soft polyvinyl chloride plate and electrode, fluoroplastics plate (PTFE plate,
ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer plate and polyvinylidene fluoride plate) and electrode
shall meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, measuring with a vernier caliper and
inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site sampling re-inspection
report.
8.2.2 Quality of neoprene adhesive and polyisocyanate materials shall meet the design
requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site
sampling re-inspection report.
8.2.3 Lining plates for pressure vessels shall be subject to pinhole inspection and tensile
strength re-inspection.
Inspection method: conducting spark pinhole inspection according to the requirements of
Article 8.1.7 in this code and inspecting tensile strength re-inspection report.
8.2.4 Quality of PTFE, polyacrylonitrile, polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes
shall meet the design requirements or the requirements of relevant current national standard.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, measuring with a vernier caliper and
inspecting product delivery certificate and material test report.
8.3 Soft Polyvinyl Chloride Plate Lining
(I) Dominant Item
8.3.1 Before bonding soft polyvinyl chloride plate, alcohol or acetone shall be used for
decontamination and degreasing treatment; the bonding surface shall be roughened to no
reflection. Where thin full-applying adhesive method is adopted, the shedding place of 3mm
thick plate shall not be greater than 200mm2, that of 0.5mm~1mm thick plate shall not be
greater than 100mm2 and spacing between dedonding places shall not be less than 500mm.
The lining and the enclosure shall be fitted tightly, without phenomena such as debonding and
dead level.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
adhesive brushing construction record or inspecting by tapping with a rubber hammer.
(II) General Item
8.3.2 For soft polyvinyl chloride plastic plate, construction setting-out and laying off shall
be accurate; pre-splicing shall be conducted before welding or bonding.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
8.3.3 At the overlapping joint of the soft polyvinyl chloride plate, heat fusion method shall
be adopted for welding. During welding, spot welding is firstly conducted at overlapping

inseam of the upper and lower plates every 200mm for fixation and then heat gun is adopted
for fusing the body and pressure welding. At the overlapping joint, electrode shall be used for
full welding and joint sealing.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
8.3.4 Border adhibiting method and fixing method with depression bar or screw are adopted
for the construction of the soft polyvinyl chloride plastic plate; internal surface of the
equipment shall be flat and smooth without phenomena such as bump or pit. Construction
dimension shall meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
construction record.
8.4 Fluoroplastics Plate Lining Equipment
(I) Dominant Item
8.4.1 Strength of hot air weld of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer and polyvinylidene
fluoride plate and that of the hot pressure weld of polytetrafluoroethylene plate shall meet the
design requirements and the surface shall be free from pinhole.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and conducting 100% spark pinhole
inspection at the weld.
(II) General Item
8.4.2 Welding groove of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer and polyvinylidene
fluoride plate shall meet the design requirements; welding speed and welding parameter shall
meet the requirements of welding procedure qualification.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting welding procedure
specification and welding procedure qualification of hot gas welding and extrusion welding,
and inspecting construction record.
8.4.3 Geometric structure and welding parameter of hot pressure welding knife of
polytetrafluoroethylene plate shall meet the requirements of welding procedure qualification.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting welding procedure
specification and welding procedure qualification of hot pressure welding, and inspecting
construction record.
8.5 Plastic Lined Pipeline
(I) Dominant Item
8.5.1 Gap between the plastic lined pipeline arc, fillet weld, steel pipe and the flange shall
meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
8.5.2 Flanged edge shall be flat and smooth and should be free from wave surface; the
maximum diameter of excircle of the flanged edge shall meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
(II) General Item
8.5.3 Quality of pipeline substrate surface treatment shall meet the design requirements or
the relevant requirements of Article 4.2.1 in this code.

9 Glass Flake Lining

9.1 General Requirement


9.1.1 This Section is applicable to acceptance of construction quality of lining of vinyl ester
resin, bisphenol A type unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin glass flakes.
9.1.2 Inspection quantity of glass flake lining shall meet the requirements of Article 4.1.2 in
this code.
9.1.3 Sampling quantity of resin main raw material and manufactured product shall meet the
relevant requirements of Articles 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 in this code.
(I) Dominant Item
9.1.4 Substrate surface appearance before construction of lining shall not only meet the
relevant requirements of Chapter 4 in this Code, but also shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Welding, riveting and screw connection between the surface and inside/outside support
shall be completed;
2 Weld on the side of the lining shall be fully welded;
3 Weld, weld beading, arc crater and welding slag on the side of lining shall be polished
flat and smooth; and the surface shall be smooth. Weld height shall not exceed 1mm; corner
and edge shall be polished into round corner greater than or equal to 2mm.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting with a ruler and inspecting
construction handover record of the piece to be lined.
(II) General Item
9.1.5 Where vinyl ester resin or bisphenol A type unsaturated polyester resin is adopted,
ambient temperature of the construction should be 5℃~30℃; where epoxy resin is adopted, it
should be 10 ℃ ~30 ℃ . Relative ambient humidity of construction shall be less than 80%.
Temperature of the substrate surface shall be 3 ℃ higher than the ambient dew point
temperature. Where it is less than the ambient temperature of construction, heating and
insulation measures shall be taken, but direct heating with an open flame shall not be adopted.
Inspection method: inspecting with a thermometer and a humidity meter, and inspecting
construction record.
9.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material and Manufactured Products
(I) Dominant Item
9.2.1 The quality of vinyl ester resin, bisphenol A type unsaturated polyester resin and
epoxy resin materials shall meet the relevant requirements of Article 5.2.2 in this code.
9.2.2 Requirements for quality of manufactured product of glass flake shall meet the those
specified in Table 9.2.2.

9.3 Lining
(I) Dominant Item
9.3.1 The glass flake lining layer shall have flat and smooth surface and uniform color,
without obvious unevenness, missing coating, flowing, bubble or crack. The surface layer and
base layer shall be firmly bonded, without phenomena such as flaking or disbonding.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting by tapping with a
wooden hammer.
9.3.2 Glass flake lining layer surface shall be cured completely, without tackiness. Hardness
value shall meet the design requirements or 90% greater than the index provided by the
supplier.
Inspection method: inspecting curing degree of the surface by wiping with a cloth soaked
with diluent. The hardness is inspected according to the requirements of the current national
standard "Test Method for Hardness of Reinforced Plastics by Means of Barcol Impresser"
(GB/T 3854).
9.3.3 Thickness of the glass flake lining layer shall meet the design requirements and its
allowable deviation is -0.2mm.
Inspection method: inspecting with a magnetic thickness tester.
9.3.4 The glass flake lining layer shall be subject to pinhole inspection, the inspection
voltage should not be less than 3000V/mm, the travel speed of the probe is not greater than
0.3m/s and the lining layer shall be free from breakdown.

10 Lead Lining

10.1 General Requirement


10.1.1 This Section is applicable to acceptance of construction quality of lead lining.
10.1.2 Inspection quantity of lead lining shall meet the requirements of Article 4.1.2 in this
code.
10.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material
(I) Dominant Item
10.2.1 Chemical composition and specification of lead plate shall meet the design
requirements or the relevant requirements of the current national standard "Lead and
Lead-antimony Alloy Plate" (GB/T 1470).
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report and site
sampling re-inspection report.
10.2.2 Electrode material shall be the same as the material of the weldment and electrode
manufactured from base material may also be adopted.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report and site
sampling re-inspection report.
10.2.3 Lead plate and lead enameling base material surface shall be smooth and clean,
without dirt, sand and grease as well as defects such as sand hole, crack or uneven coverage.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
(II) General Item
10.2.4 The electrode surface shall be clean, without oxide film or other dirt.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
10.3 Lead Lining
(I) Dominant Item
10.3.1 Construction of lead lining shall be conducted according to the structure and
thickness specified in the design.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
10.3.2 Before welding of lead plate, firstly the weld area is scrapped with a scraper so that
its metal luster is exposed. The scraping shall be conducted along with the welding; the
scrapped welded junction shall finish welding within 3h. During multi-layer welding, after
one layer finishes welding, the next layer shall be welded after being scrapped.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
(II) General Item
10.3.3 Construction quality of lead lining shall meet the following requirements:
1 For the weldment with the thickness of 7mm below, overlap welding shall be adopted,
the overlapping dimension should be 25mm~40mm, the weld shall be staggered, but not
crossed, and the staggered distance shall not be less than 100mm.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
2 Spacing between fixed points of each fixation method should be 250mm~900mm; the
fixed points shall be arranged in an equilateral triangle shape. Fixed points may be properly
increased at equipment top; fixed point may be omitted at bottom of equipment with flat
bottom.

3 Lead plate and equipment inwall shall be fitted tightly, without unevenness.

4 Lead-lined plate surface shall be free from mechanical damage, dent or reduction.
The weld shall be flat, smooth and uniform, without phenomena such as missing welding,
false welding, shrinkage cavity, staggered joint or undercut; and the internal weld shall be free
from phenomena such as interlayer, gas cavity or incomplete penetration.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, and inspecting by cutting and pressure
test.
10.4 Enameling Lead
(I) Dominant Item
10.4.1 Construction of enameling lead shall be conducted according to the structure and
thickness specified in the design.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
(II) General Item
10.4.2 Construction quality of enameling lead shall meet the following requirements:
1 Enameled substrate surface treatment grade shall meet the relevant requirements of
Table 4.2.1 in this code;
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
2 For construction by direct enameling lead method; thickness of each enameling lead
should be 2mm~4mm and the enameling width should be 15mm~25mm;
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a ruler.
3 For construction by indirect enameling lead method, the tin layer shall be thin and
uniform and the tinning thickness shall be 15μm~20μm;
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection or inspecting with a magnetic thickness
tester.
4 Enameling lead layer and substrate surface shall be fitted tightly, without phenomena
such as disbonding or flaking;
Inspection method: inspecting by hammering and inspecting with an ultrasonic detector.
5 Enameling lead layer shall be consistent in thickness and the thickness shall meet the
design requirements. If there is no requirement for the thickness deviation in the design, the
allowable thickness deviation is 0~25%;
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting with a magnetic
thickness tester.
6 Enameling lead layer surface shall be flat, smooth and uniform, without defects such
as micro-porous, crack, shrinkage cavity, slag inclusion, bulge, gas cavity and weld beading.
The enameling lead layer shall be free from foreign matters such as interlayer, slag inclusion
and oxide.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting in a section view and
inspecting pitting corrosion.

11 Spray Coating Polyurea Lining

11.0.1 This chapter is applicable to acceptance of construction quality of spray coating


polyurea lining works.
11.0.2 Inspection quantity of spray coating polyurea lining coating shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Where the area of the lining coating is less than or equal to 50m2, 3 places shall be
randomly inspected; where the coating area is greater than 50m2, one more place shall be
randomly inspected per increase of 20m2;
2 For important parts and parts difficult to have maintenance, 30% shall be randomly
inspected according to area and quantity of measuring points at each place shall not be less
than 5;
3 For the part with significant influence on the quality, destructive inspection may be
conducted in case of any disagreement.
11.0.3 Inspection quantity of varieties, specifications and characteristics of spray coating
polyurea lining materials shall meet the following requirements:
1 Random examination shall be conducted by different categories from each of the
batch materials according to the design requirements. The sample size may be determined
through negotiation between the construction unit and the Supplier;
2 Test method shall meet the design requirements or the relevant requirements of the
current professional standard "Spray Polyurea for Materials Protection" (HG/T 3831);
3 Where one of main indexes in the random examination results is unqualified, sampling
re-inspection shall be conducted once again. If there is still one unqualified main index, the
random examination shall be doubled; if it still is unqualified, quality of this product shall be
judged as rejected.
(I) Dominant Item
11.0.4 Quality of spray coating polyurea lining raw material and coating shall meet the
design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report or site
sampling re-inspection report.
11.0.5 Thickness of polyurea lining coating shall not only be uniform, but also meet the
design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting with an ultrasonic thickness meter.
11.0.6 Spray coating polyurea lining surface shall be subject to pinhole inspection. Where
the coating thickness is 1.0mm, the inspection voltage shall be greater than or equal to 3000V;
where the coating thickness is 1.5mm, the inspection voltage shall be greater than or equal to
4500V; where the coating thickness is 2.0mm, the inspection voltage shall be greater than or
equal to 6000V. The travel speed of the probe shall be less than or equal to 0.3m/s and the
lining layer shall be free from breakdown.
Inspection method: inspecting with a spark pinhole detector.
11.0.7 Adhesion of lining shall meet the design requirement and the adhesion (pull-off

method) with the substrate shall not be less than 3.5MPa.
Inspection method: inspecting with a coating adhesion (pull-off method) instrument.
(II) General Item
11.0.8 Lining coating surface shall be flat and smooth, with consistent color and luster, and
without defects such as obvious sharp protrusion, cracking and sharp scratch. Lining layer
surface is allowed to have a small amount of coating gel particle, partially overspray or shell
layer whose length is less than 200mm in per square meter of area or the quantity of swelling
shall not be greater than 2.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection.
11.0.9 Painting construction conditions, coating auxiliary system, construction process and
coating interval time of spray coating polyurea lining shall meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting construction record and record of concealed work.

12 Lining of Neoprene Latex Cement Mortar

12.1 General Requirement


12.1.1 This Section is applicable to acceptance of construction quality of integral surface
layer of neoprene latex cement mortar.
12.1.2 Inspection quantity of anticorrosive engineering of neoprene latex cement mortar
shall meet the following requirements:
1 Where the area of equipment is or less than 50m2 and the length of pipeline is or less
than 50m, 3 places shall be randomly inspected; the inspection area at each place of
equipment shall be 0.5m2, and the quantity of inspection points at each place of equipment or
pipeline shall not be less than 3. Where the area of the equipment exceeds 500m2 or the length
of one pipeline exceeds 500m, the spacing at random examination may be increased properly.
At each inspection place, the average of the inspection points represents the construction
quality;
2 Where one point is unqualified in the quality inspection, double quantity of points
shall be selected near the rejected point for re-inspection, and this point shall be deemed as
rejected still with one point unqualified in the re-inspection.
12.1.3 Sampling quantity of main raw materials and manufactured products of neoprene
latex cement mortar shall meet the relevant requirements of Articles 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 in this
Code.
12.2 Requirement for Quality of Raw Material and Manufactured Products
(I) Dominant Item
12.2.1 Quality of raw materials such as positive ion neoprene latex, Portland cement and
fine aggregate adopted for anticorrosive engineering of neoprene latex cement mortar shall
meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report and site
sampling re-inspection report.
12.2.2 Quality of the manufactured product of the neoprene latex cement mortar after curing
shall meet the those specified in Table 12.2.2.

magnifier.
12.3.3 Integral lining surface layer of the neoprene latex cement mortar and the corner,
structural member, reserved hole and pipeline inlet /outlet shall be fitted tightly and bonded
firmly, with flat and smooth joint and without leakage or hollowing.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection, inspecting by tapping method and
inspecting record of concealed work.
(II) General Item
12.3.4 Thickness of neoprene latex cement mortar surface layer shall meet the design
requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting with a thickness gauge or a 150mm steel ruler.
12.3.5 Allowable deviation for surface evenness of integral surface layer shall not be greater
than 5mm.
Inspection method: inspecting with a 2m straight ruler and wedge plug ruler.
12.3.6 Slope inspection of integral surface layer of neoprene latex cement mortar shall meet
the requirements of Article 5.3.6 in this code.
12.3.7 After plastering of neoprene latex cement mortar, where the surface gets dry till
tack-free, it shall be subject to wet curing for 7d and then natural curing for 21d before use.

13 Coating Layer of Coatings

13.0.1 This Chapter is applicable to the construction quality acceptance of the coating layer
of coatings.
13.0.2 The inspection quantity of coating layers of coatings shall meet the requirements of
Article 4.1.2 of this Code.
13.0.3 The Inspection quantity of varieties, specifications and characteristics of coating
shall meet the following requirements:
1 Random examination shall be carried out by different categories from each of the batch
materials according to the design requirements. The sample size may be determined through
negotiation between the construction unit and the Supplier;
2 Where one item of sampling inspection results is unqualified, sampling re-inspection
shall be carried out. If there is still one index unqualified, the quality of the product shall be
judged as rejected.
(I) Dominant Item
13.0.4 The variety, model, specification and performance quality of coating shall meet the
design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate, material test report and site
sampling re-inspection report.
13.0.5 Coating construction condition, coating auxiliary system, construction process and
coating interval time of the coating shall meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: inspecting construction record and record of concealed work.
13.0.6 Coating thickness shall be uniform, the quantity of coating layers and thickness shall
meet the design requirement. Where the coating thickness is less than the quantity of
measuring points for the thickness specified in the design, it shall not be greater than 10%,
meanwhile, the measured thickness at measuring point shall be no less than 90% of the
thickness specified in the design.
Inspection method: inspecting construction record and inspecting with a magnetic
thickness tester.
(Ⅱ) General Item
13.0.7 Surface of the coating layer shall be smooth and uniform in color and lustre without
such defects as sagging, wrinkling, peeling, re-rust and missing coating.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection or inspecting with a 5~10X magnifier.
13.0.8 Adhesion of coating layer shall meet the design requirement, and the adhesion of
coating layer and steel substrates (cross-cut method) shall not be greater than Grade 2. The
adhesion of coating layer and steel substrates (pull-off method) shall not be less than 5MPa.
Inspection method: inspecting with a coating layer adhesion (cross-cut method) or
adhesion (pull-off method) instrument.
Inspection quantity: inspecting 3 places per l0m2 of the equipment, the measuring point
at each place shall be no less than 3. Pipeline shall be inspected every 50m, quantity of the
measuring points at each place shall be no less than 3.

13.0.9 During the pinhole test for coating layer of coatings, quantity of pinhole leakage
points for the coating layer of coatings of equipment shall be not greater than 2 per square
meter, and quantity of the pinhole leakage points at pipeline every 5m of coating layer shall
be not greater than 1. Inspection voltage shall be determined according to the technical
requirements of coating products.
Inspection method: inspecting with a high voltage spark detector or low voltage leak
detector.

14 Heat Spray Coating of Metal

14.0.1 This Chapter is applicable to the construction quality acceptance of heat spray
coating of zinc and zinc-aluminum alloy, aluminum and aluminum magnesium alloy heat
spray coating.
(I) Dominant Item
14.0.2 The chemical composition of zinc and zinc alloy wires, aluminum and aluminum
alloy wires used for heat spray shall meet the design requirement or the relevant requirements
of current national standard "Thermal Spraying - Wires, Rods and Cords for Flame and Arc
Spraying - Classification and Technical Supply Condition" (GB/T 12608).
Inspection method: inspecting product delivery certificate and product chemical
composition analysis report.
14.0.3 Spray coating thickness shall meet the design requirements, the minimum local
thickness of coating shall be no less than the specified value of design.
Inspection method: inspecting according to the requirements of current national standard
"Non-magnetic Coatings on Magnetic Substrates - Measurement of Coating Thickness -
Magnetic Method" (GB/T 4956).
Inspection quantity: inspecting 3 places per 10m2; quantity of measuring points in 0.01m2
reference plane at each place shall be no less than 10.
14.0.4 Spray coating appearance shall be dense shaped, smooth, and uniform in color and
luster, surface shall be free from cracks, peeling off, blistering, spot exposed on the substrate
and coarse insoluble or unfirm metallic particles.
Inspection method: conducting visual inspection and inspecting by sweeping with
fingers.
Inspection quantity: 15%~30% of the coating area.
(Ⅱ) General Item
14.0.5 Roughness of substrate surface after treatment shall adopt roughness reference
sample plate for comparison and inspection. Jet or projectile surface treatment roughness of

14.0.9 Bonding strength of spray coating layer and substrates shall meet the following
requirements:
1 Where qualitative test method is adopted, coating shall not stripped from the substrates.
Inspection method: inspecting according to the requirements of current national standard
"Metallic and Other Inorganic Coatings - Thermal Spraying - Zinc, Aluminum and Their
Alloys" (GB/T 9793) for the lattice test.
2 Where the quantitative determination method is adopted, tensile adhesive strength shall
meet the design requirements.
Inspection method: tensile adhesive strength shall be inspected according to the
requirements of current national standard "Thermal Sprayed Coatings - Determination of
Adhesion Strength" (GB/T 8642).
Inspection quantity: 3 specimens are tested every 150m2, in case of less than 150m2, it is
calculated by 150m2.

15 Acceptance of Subsection (Sub-subsection) Project

15.0.1 The acceptance of the construction quality of inspection lot, sub-item project,
subsection (sub-subsection) project in the industrial equipment and pipeline insulation project
must be conducted on the basis of the qualified self-checking of construction organization, the
quality of those inspection lots constituting the sub-item project shall meet the corresponding
quality standards as specified in this code.
15.0.2 Acceptance of inspection lot, sub-item project, construction quality are all qualified,
then carry out the acceptance of subsection ( sub-subsection) project.
15.0.3 During the acceptance of engineering, the following information shall be submitted:
1 Delivery certificate of various anti-corrosive materials, finished products and
semi-finished products, material test report or site sampling re-inspection report.
2 The mixture ratio of corrosion resistant cement, mortar, glass fiber reinforced plastic
and coating as well as the test report of main technical performance;
3 Test report and site sampling re-inspection report on the mixture ratio of
multi-components and their designated performance indexes.
4 Design alteration notice, technical document of material substitution as well as
treatment records of significant technical problems during the construction process.
5 Construction records of concealed project;
6 Repair or Rework Records;
7 Hand-Over Summary Sheet of Industrial Equipment and Pipeline Anticorrosive
engineering.
15.0.4 During acceptance of the anticorrosive engineering with special requirements, test
report of added relevant technique index shall be provided according to the contract.

Explanation of Wording in this Code
1 Words used for different degrees of strictness are explained as follows in order to mark
the differences in executing the requirements in this code:
1) Words denoting a very strict or mandatory requirement:
"Must" is used for affirmation, "must not" for negation;
2) Words denoting a strict requirement under normal conditions:
"Shall" is used for affirmation, "shall not" or "should not" for negation;
3) Words denoting a permission of a slight choice or an indication of the most suitable
choice when conditions permit:
"Should" is used for affirmation, “should not” for negation;
4) "May" is used to express the option available, sometimes with the conditional permit.
2 "Shall comply with…" or "Shall meet the requirements of…" is used in this code to
indicate that it is necessary to meet the requirements stipulated in other relative standards and
codes.
