Carefully read the foUowing passage and answer the questions that follows.

Ngum's Mobile Phones

l am Ngurri. l have a mobile phone and l really love it. l had always wanted to have a phone like
. my friends, but my parents said 1couldn't have one until after my GCE 0- Levels.
So, two years ago, 'they bought me this phone. 1 was happy and proud to also own a phone. 1
always keep it in my bag or in my pocket so it won't faU out or get stolen. 1 always answer caUs
from my parents and my friends. I1's a great tool for communication. 1 would love to take it to
school if we were allowed to !
My phone has a calculator and a calendar, so 1 sometim"es use it to do my math's homework and
check the time. It is also a very good information too1. Sometimes 1connect to the internet and read
news, emails or connect with friends on social network platforms.
Last week, we had a school excursion to a factory. l took sorne pictures and showed my parents
when 1 got home. They were happy to see the pictures and even suggested that 1 study to be an
engineer so that 1 can work in that factory.
A month ago, my brother and 1 went to the forest to get sorne firewood. He was bitten by a
snake. 1 didn't know what to do. There was nobody to help. Then 1 thought about my phone and

used it to caU our parents, who called for medical help. That saved my brother.
Sometimes, people are irresponsible with their mobile phones or even abuse them. Sorne people
do not bother to answer their caUs and others post or forward abusive messages or fake news. 1 am
not a mobile phone addict, rut 1feel unsafe without my phone. I1's also very useful to me.
