Bonsai is an art which has been mastered in Asia for hundreds of years. These elegant
trees are grown in small containers and trimmed and trained to perfection by enthusi-
asts. Growing a Bonsai tree is a lengthy yet rewarding process. Although it may take
some patience, we are sure you will love the entire process from germination, pruning,
to training.

In Japanese the word “Misho” - Growing Bonsai tree from seed can be a very rewarding
process. By growing a Bonsai tree from seed, you are able to have full control of the
tree from the earliest and crucial stage. Growing a Bonsai from seed can take a long
time (at least two to three years) before you have a tree you can start working on. This
is the only way to grow a Bonsai tree right from the start.

Tree seeds should be normally planted during the autumn seasons, but if you try
planting them outside of the season then you will need to use a process called
‘Stratification’. Stratification is the pre-treatment of seeds. This often means you will
need to store the seeds in the fridge (not freezer) for a few weeks, in order to stimulate
the winter months.

Our Easy Bonsai Starter kit contain four varieties of the rarest and beautiful seeds.
These are:

- Red Maple Tree (Acer Rubrum) - a beautiful Japanese tree known for its bright red
leaves.

- Judas Tree (Cercis Siliquastrum) - a very rare tree with the most wonderful blossom.

- Wisteria (Wisteria Sinensis) - A purple flowered tree with blossoms draping down
from the tree towards the roots.

- Japanese Black Pine - noted for its whitish terminal buds that provide interesting
contrast with its dark green foliage.

This Bonsai guide along with the items provided in our kit will take you through the
process from Germinating your seeds to having a plant which is ready to craft into
your very own Bonsai tree.
