You are helping to organize a visit to an English language academy in Manchester. You
have received a letter from John Webster, the director of the academy. Read the letter.
I am very glad to see that you are coming to our academy in July. I am sure you will all
have a very enjoyable time and that you will learn a lot of English. You can either stay
all together in a youth hostel, or individually with local families. Please tell me which
you would prefer. Tell me something about your group so that I can organize
interesting spare time activities. What sort of things do they like doing?
Yours sincerely,
John Webster

Dear John,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to provide you with further details about our
group to your English language academy in July.
With regard to accomodation, I would like to stay individually with local families because I
want to learn more about not only the accents of native speakers but also the culture from
them. I think this is a good opportunity for our group.
Our group includes all teenagers, they are dynamic, smart, and strong so they are interested in
outdoor activities. It will be very exciting if we can play together with other groups.
Besides the activities that help them build teamwork, they special like something they can
enjoy to relax such as: watching the movies, dining out and participating in local ceremony
festivals
Best regard,

Dear John,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to provide you with additional details about our
group's upcoming visit to your English language academy in July.
Regarding accommodation, we would prefer to stay individually with local families. This
choice allows us not only to experience the accents of native speakers but also to immerse
ourselves in their culture. We believe this will greatly benefit our learning experience.
Our group comprises teenagers who are dynamic, intelligent, and resilient. They are
enthusiastic about outdoor activities and would find it highly engaging to collaborate with
other groups in various games and team-building exercises.
In addition to activities that foster teamwork, they particularly enjoy relaxation activities such
as watching films, dining out, and participating in local festivals.
I hope this information is helpful for organizing our visit. Please let me know if you require
any further details.
Best regards,
ThuyTa

Task 2.
University education plays a key role in any educational system. Some people believe
the aim of university education is to help graduates get better jobs. Others believe there
are much wider benefits of university education for both individuals and society.
Write an essay to educated readers to give your opinions on the ultimate aims of
university education.
You should write at least 250 words. Include reasons and any relevant examples to
support your ideas. Your response will be evaluated in terms of Task Fulfillment,
Organization, Vocabulary and Grammar.
I would like to quote from Oprah Winfrey: "Education is the key to unlocking the world, a
passport to freedom". University education has a crucial role in any educational system. In
my opinion, there are two targets for everyone to have an university degree.
On the one hand, studying at university will help you find yourself, you will have an
opportunity to experience what you want to do in the future. After twelve years at school, you
only know to learn day by day and try your best to pass a lot of exams, you do not have time
to think about a future job. So in the first year in university when you learn general studies
course you have time to think about the major in the next year. For example, some of my
friends found out that they were suitable in marketing rather than accounting which is our
current major at that time and they changed the major in the second year.
On the other hand, learning at university not only gives you expertise but also social
knowledge. You have to learn the way to live alone far away from your family such as :how
to cook, how to wash the clothes, how to take care of yourself... Moreover, you can learn the
way to deal with a lot of difficult situations by yourself and it is even more important than
what you learn from university. It will help you grow more each day.
In conclusion, a university education is a turning point in the life of every individual. It will
bring to you knowledge, freedom and life skills.
Secondly, university education not only imparts specialized knowledge but also fosters social
skills. Living independently away from family necessitates acquiring practical life skills such
as cooking, laundry, and self-care. Moreover, navigating various challenging situations
independently contributes significantly to personal growth, arguably more so than academic
learning alone. This holistic development prepares individuals for the complexities of life
beyond academia.
