PART 1 GENERAL QUESTIONS

PART 2

 Describe this picture

In this picture, I can see a group of teenagers and a man in a classroom. Judging by their clothes and
backpacks, they must be students and he could be their teacher. In the foreground, I can see a group of
students sitting at their school desks. In the background, I can see the teacher explaining something,
since he’s using a projector. In addition, there are more students listening to him. The students are
taking notes, although they could also be doing an exam. They are wearing casual clothes, so probably
it is a state high school.

 Why do some people take/make notes in class?

To my mind, taking notes is both helpful and essential. On the one hand, teachers usually give useful
explanations and tips that can’t be found in textbooks. Moreover, taking notes can help you understand
any lesson better, given that it makes you pay more attention and follow the teacher’s explanation. On
the other hand, if you take notes, you can remember some details that otherwise, you would forget in
just a few days. Therefore, it is a good way to guess what topics have more relevance in order to
prepare for your exams.

 Is it important to take/make good notes?

As I said before, taking notes can be very useful to understand any lesson better and pay more attention
during the lesson. The quality of those notes is also important, due to the fact that the better they are, the
better you’ll be able to understand them in the future. This is very handy when it comes to studying, as in
many subjects, it’s necessary to study by heart. Also, having good and organised notes will help with
motivation and concentration.
PART 3

 Compare these pictures

Both pictures show different ways to teach.

In the first picture, I can see a boy and a woman having fun, whereas in the second picture, I can see
again a boy with a woman who aren’t so happy. Both situations seem to be at home.

In the first picture, the girl must be the boy’s tutor, or maybe she’s his sister. It seems like she’s
explaining something to him in a fun way, as they’re smiling. However, in the second picture, the
woman must be his mum. Probably, she’s trying to help him with some hard exercise.

 What situation do you prefer?

To be honest, it’s not an easy question, given that I like both of them. However, if I had to choose one,
I’d say I prefer the first option. I believe it’s important to teach children in a practical and fun way, in
order to encourage their imagination. COPIADO DEL SPEAKING 2 It’s very important
to encourage students’ imagination since in this way, they learn to improvise and find solutions to
problems in a faster way. Being imaginative and creative is one of the most useful abilities that you can
have. There are many ways to foster imagination, like listening to music, painting, reading. Developing
the imagination is also beneficial for the brain, and you can improve other skills like maths, science and
so on.

 Is it important to help children do their homework?

From my point of view, children should do their homework on their own, so that they learn from their
mistakes. They should just be helped when they present actual difficulties. However, I believe teachers
should help them at school. COPIADO DEL SPEAKING 4 I really like my job and I think that a very
important part of teaching is helping my students not only academically /akadémikali/ but also
personally. My students know that I tend to help them whenever they need me. I always try to give
them a hand. All teachers should love helping their students. Otherwise, they should choose a
different job. In my case, teaching is my calling without /uizáut/ a doubt /dáut/.

PART 4

 When’s the last time you worked as a team?

 How did you feel?
 Is it important to have teamwork skills in life?

The last time I had to work as a team was last week. I had a school meeting. COPIADO DEL 3
We met to talk about the end of the term and we all had to share the students’ results /risólts/ and
make decisions together. It went well, although it was longer than I expected.

COPIADO DEL SPEAKING 2 I always make my students work as a team in order to help one another
and they like it very much. Teamwork is very important nowadays. I teach that the more hands, the
faster they go and the more minds, the more ideas. I can tell that they feel both helpful and grateful.
Furthermore, when they have to work in the future they will need to handle teamwork.

COPIADO DEL 4
As a teacher, I have many workmates where I work. We have to spend a lot of time together
and we must have a good relationship. However, I prefer to do my own job individually. In this
way, I can go at my own pace. If I work in groups, some workmates are lazier/lesiar/ than
others and take advantage of the most hard-working, like me. On the other hand, when you
work at a school you must get on well with your workmates, since there is always some kind of
teamwork to do.
