Introduction
- Goof afternoon class, welcome to the presentation of our team! The topic today is “Social
issue”, but do you know which one it is? Look at the picture and take a guess. Any
volunteer?
- Almost there! Wanna try again?/ Correct! Today we are going to talk about a common
social issue: “Bullying”

2. Definition
- “Bullying” is a term which you all definitely have heard about before, but do you really
know what it is?
- Well, “Bullying” is when someone repeatedly and intentionally hurts, harasses, or
intimidates another person physically, verbally, socially, or online, often with a power
imbalance.

3. Types of “Bullying”
- There are 4 types of Bullying
1. Verbal Bullying: Includes name-calling, teasing, taunting, and verbal threats.
2. Physical Bullying: Involves physical aggression such as hitting, kicking, punching, or any
form of physical harm.
3. Social Bullying: Also known as relational bullying, it involves manipulating social
relationships, spreading rumors, excluding someone from a group, and the last one,
“cyberbullying”.
4. Cyberbullying: Bullying that occurs through digital devices and platforms, including
social media, text messages, emails, or online forums.

4. Reasons for Bullying

- But, do you wonder, why do some people just come out of nowhere and start bullying the
others? There are probably many reasons behind it:
1. Power Imbalance: Bullies often perceive themselves as more powerful or superior to their
targets and use bullying to assert dominance.
2. Seeking Attention or Approval: Some individuals bully others to gain attention from peers
or to fit in with a certain group.
3. Personal Issues: Bullying behavior can come from personal issues such as low self-
esteem, family problems, or exposure to violence.
5. The consequences
- Eventually, being bullied may leave so many impacts on the victims:
1. Emotional Effects: Victims of bullying may experience anxiety, depression, low self-
esteem, and feelings of isolation.
2. Physical Effects: Physical bullying can result in injuries ranging from minor bruises to
serious harm.
3. Academic Impact: Bullying can negatively impact academic performance due to difficulty
concentrating, and decreased motivation.

6. Preventions
- Now we’ve known about bullying and it nagative effects, but, there is a question, how can
we resolve it then?
- Our team’s members have come up with some efficient solutions:
1. Raise awareness: Educate students and parents about the different types of bullying and its
impact.
2. Encourage Reporting: Provide safe and confidential channels for students to report
incidents of bullying and ensure that reports are taken seriously and addressed quickly.
3. Teach Conflict Resolution Skills: Equip students with strategies for resolving conflicts
peacefully, such as effective communication and problem-solving skills.
4. Empower Bystanders: Encourage bystanders to intervene safely and support victims of
bullying, whether by speaking up, seeking help from adults, or offering friendship and
support.

Nowadays, Bullying is a serious problem which not only happen inside

school but also outside of it. We need to work together in order to stop this
problem, and to creat a happy and healthy environment for everyone.
