LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
 enhance their ability to ask and answer questions effectively, sharing and exchanging information
with their peers to deepen their understanding of the advertisement content.
 critically analyse and compare the two smartphones, using evidence from the advertisements to
support their opinions and preferences.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:


 Accurately list the main features, price, and unique selling points of both smartphones, and make
clear comparisons between them on their worksheets.
 During the info gap activity, students can successfully ask questions and provide answers to their
SUCCESS CRITERIA: partners, demonstrating a clear understanding of the vocabulary and key information from their
respective advertisements.
 In the comprehensive worksheet and subsequent class discussion, students can provide well-
reasoned arguments for their preferred smartphone, supported by specific details from the

a smartphone

Development 1. Pair up the students.
2. Provide each pair of students with a vocabulary list and meanings. Each student has different words to match.
3. Students must ask each other questions to find out the meanings of their words (info gap activity).
While- Reading
4. Divide students into two main groups: Group A and Group B. Group A students read the TechPro X500
advertisement, and Group B students read the SmartLink S100 advertisement.
5. Distribute the respective advertisement materials and corresponding worksheets to each group.
6. Students in their respective groups read their advertisement and complete the questions on the worksheet
(e.g., list main features, price, unique selling points).
7. Discuss the key information within the group to ensure every student understands the content of the
advertisement.
8. Pair up students from Group A with students from Group B.Group A students explain the TechPro X500
advertisement to Group B students, and Group B students explain the SmartLink S100 advertisement to Group A
students.
9. During the information exchange, students use their worksheets as a guide, asking questions to ensure the
other understands the key information from the advertisement.
Post- Reading
10. After the information exchange, each pair of students collaboratively completes a comprehensive worksheet.
(The worksheet asks students to choose which smartphone they like and list the reasons why)
11. While discussing and filling out the comprehensive worksheet, students must rely on the information provided
by their partner, ensuring everyone is deeply involved in the discussion and understanding of the material.
12. After completing the comprehensive worksheet, share their findings and discussion results with the entire
class.

Post-Lesson 1. Ask the students to discuss the biggest difficulty in reading.
