DATA VISUALISATION

TOOLS
DATA VISUALIZATION
Data visualization is the graphical representation of information and data.
By using visual elements like charts, graphs, and maps, data visualization
tools provide an accessible way to see and understand trends, outliers, and
patterns in data. Additionally, it provides an excellent way for employees or
business owners to present data to nontechnical audiences without
confusion.

WHAT IS A
VISUALIZATION TOOL?
A data visualization tool is a software application or platform designed to
create visual representations of data. These tools enable users to transform
raw data into TABLES, charts, graphs, maps, and other visual formats that
are easier to understand and interpret. Data visualization tools typically
offer a range of features and functionalities to help users explore, analyze,
and communicate insights from their data effectively.
TABLES AS A
VISUALIZATION TOOL?
Tables are like mini spreadsheets and a structured arrangement of data
presented in rows and columns..

Data in a table doesn’t have to be quantitative only. The table data can
be text, numerics, links, multimedia, lists, codes, buttons, dates, etc

Unlike traditional textual representations of data, tables in

data visualization are designed to be visually appealing, easy
to read, and often include additional features such as sorting,
filtering, and styling to enhance comprehension.
Types of Table

Highlight Table Text Table

Highlight Table
Highlight tables are a type of data visualization tool that presents data
in a tabular format while emphasizing key insights or trends through
color highlighting or shading.
Color highlighting enhances the readability of the table by making
important data stand out, reducing the cognitive load on the viewer and
facilitating quicker comprehension of the information.
Users can customize the color scheme and formatting of highlight
tables
We can add conditional formatting rules to the table that automatically
color cells that meet specified conditions.
Highlight Table
For instance, when using a highlight table to visualize a company’s sales
data, color the cells red if the sales data is below the goal, or green if
sales were above the goal.
Text Table
A text table is a type of data visualization that have a straightforward
format, consisting of rows and columns of text-based characters arranged in
a grid-like structure.
Text tables can be one of the easiest chart types to build as all that we need
is one numerical field and one categorical field
Each cell in the table contains a single data value or piece of information.

Tables can present measurement of objects, color, use, number of objects

present, dates, percentages, and so on.
We can add subtotals and grand totals to the rows or columns of the
text or highlight tables.
Tables expand horizontally and vertically as needed

CORRELATION MATRIX
A correlation matrix is a table that shows correlation coefficients between
variables.

Each cell represents the relationship between two variables, and a color
scale is used to communicate whether the variables are correlated and to
what extent.
Correlation matrices are useful to summarize and find patterns in
large data sets.

In business, a correlation matrix might be used to analyze how

different data points about a specific product might be related,
such as price, advertising spend, launch date, etc.

CROSS TABULATION
Cross-tabulation (also known as crosstab) is a popular method used for
quantitatively analyzing the relationship between two or more variables.

it involves creating a table that shows the frequency distribution of the

variables' categories and how they intersect or relate to each other.
It is one of the highly used analytical tools, it includes a multidimensional
table for analyzing the number of respondents having specific
characteristics highlighted in the table cells.
CROSS TABULATION
Analyze the relationship between variables such as age and purchase of
Digital devices.
What Is The Purpose Of
Cross-tabulation?
To find valuable insights that help achieve an organisation’s goals.

Reveals categories and relationships and Organizes data effectively.

Identifies hidden category relationships. and Enables informed decision-

making based on complex data.
Exit interviews and Employee feedback and management.

Product and market research and Evaluation surveys at organisations:
