AWARENESS OF PSYCHOLOGY IN DIFFERENT FIELDS

Viva will take place on the assigned Project date.

II. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS


• Basic concepts will be written at home neatly.
• Total No. of Pages (Only Basic Concepts): Approximately 25 sides.
• Paper: Only A4 size inter-leaf pages are to be used for writing.
• Ink: Use Blue colour ink to write.
• Written matter: Needs to be only on the right-hand side of the page.
• Margin: Leave half an inch margin on the right-hand side of the page.
• New concepts: To be written on a new page. Subtopics can be continued on the same page.
• File: You will use only A4 size white transparent file.
• Avoid plagiarism.
• Certificate page will be provided.
• Attach all your test material towards the end in the Appendix.

III. SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS

A. CERTIFICATE PAGE: (Will be provided by the school).

B. JNS COVER PAGE: JNS typed page: Name, Std., Div., Name of the Project, Year.

C. INDEX: In a tabular form (Sr. No., Topic, Page no, Signature of Teacher)

D. ASSESSMENT WILL BE BASED ON A WRITTEN REPORT WHICH SHOULD COVER:

1. AIM: To study the awareness of Psychology in different fields.


2. BASIC CONCEPTS: Definition of concepts used and related theory.

a. Fields of Psychology:
• Introduction: Definition & Nature of Psychology. (Matter to be taken from the Textbooks or the
Notes provided).
• Fields of Psychology: Clinical, Counselling, Developmental, Educational, Organizational
and Social Psychology. (Matter to be taken from the Textbooks or the Notes provided).
• Concepts/Techniques/Methods used in each field (Research needs to be done on each field,
using online information).
• Work of at least two Psychologists (Research needs to be done on each field, using online
information).
• One Case study (Research needs to be done in any one field, using online information).

b. Scientific Methods in Psychology


• Observation; Longitudinal and Cross- sectional; Case study; Survey; Experimental. (To be
taken from Textbooks or Class notes).

c. Statistics: (To be taken from Textbooks or Class notes).


• Basic Statistical Concepts, Descriptive, Frequency distribution and Measures of Central
tendency.

3. METHOD
i. Sample of the Study: 10 (5 males & 5 females) non-psychology (Std. 10 and 11 of age group
14-16) students.
ii. Procedure followed (data collection, nature of raw data)
• Add two questions to the questionnaire of two different fields of psychology, which are not a
part of the questionnaire already. [Students to frame and add approved, two MCQs, in the
questionnaire, like the questions asked, for two different fields of psychology]
• Provide the questionnaire to Random Non-Psychology students.
(All working sheets will be part of the project.)
iii. Treatment of data:
• Include a statistical treatment of data using different types of graphs, and diagrams.
• Plot any gender differences in the responses.
iv. Result and Discussion:
• What type of method of Psychology was used in the project?
• Is there a higher score for females or males? What are the potential reasons?
• Were there any biases or stereotypes attached? What are the potential reasons?

PARTICIPANT CONSENT FORM

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to gather data regarding awareness of different fields of psychology
among teenagers.

Procedure: The researcher (Grade 11 student of Jamnabai Narsee School) will hand out the questionnaire to the
participant. Participants must make sure to read the instructions carefully and fill out the questionnaire
accordingly.

Voluntary Participation and Confidentiality: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary and you
may refuse to complete the study at any point. You may also stop at any time and ask the researcher any
questions you may have. Your name will never be connected to your results or to your responses to the
questionnaires. Information that would make it possible to identify you or any other participant will never be
included in any sort of report. The data will be accessible only to those working on the project.
