1. Aim.

The objective of this procedure is to give the general guidelines to follow for the
transfer of materials and equipment, which includes the following sub-activities:

 Optimum operation of the vehicle to be used in the transfer.

2. Scope.
This procedure applies to the Work: ELECTRICAL NETWORKS FOR THE HU
ALAMEDA REAL VIII STAGE – LOS PORTALES

3. Documentation.

 National Electricity Code.


 Law No. 29783 DS005- 2012 -TR occupational health and safety law and its
application of August 19, 2011.
 Electrical Concessions Law, Decree Law No. 25844 of 06.11.92 and its
Regulations, Supreme Decree No. 009-93-EM, published in the Peruano of
02.25.93 and Errata published on 03.15.93.
 Law to Ensure the Efficient Development of Electricity Generation, Law No.
28832.
 National Construction Regulations.
 Safety and Health Regulations at Work with Electricity approved with RM 111-
2013 MEM/DM March 2013.
 DGE Standards applicable to Power Substations

5. Development.

5.1 Preliminary activities.

 Prior Inspection of Work to be developed.


 Prior inspection of the vehicle to be used.
 Identification of the route to travel and potential risks.
 Establish a 5-minute chat before the execution of the task.
 Verify and review the personal protective equipment and tools to be used.
 Verify in the work center that the staff has all the safety equipment necessary
for this activity and check that they are in perfect condition.

 The driver must do a thorough check of all parts of the car (Engine, tires,
handrail, brakes, gasoline, water, etc.) and must make sure if he has a spare tire,
set of keys, jack, and portable PQS fire extinguisher. , first aid kit, safety cones,
safety triangle, etc.
 The driver must have his/her own respective documentation such as DNI, valid
driver's license and according to the category of the vehicle he/she drives, and
documentation of the vehicle to be transported such as Ownership Card, land
circulation card, current technical inspection, SOAT. current, guides for the
material being transported, likewise the driver must verify: visible running
plates, seat belts in good condition for the pilot and co-pilot(s).
 Steering system in good condition.
 The braking system must be regulated to provide security to the vehicle against
any eventuality.
 Check the suspension system to ensure the stability of the vehicle.
 Adequate power/weight ratio.
 The rearview system must be large and in good condition.
 Lighting system, headlights, turn signals, rear brake lights, reverse lights and
acoustic alarm and emergency flashing lights.
 The driver must concentrate on his activity, always keeping in mind the road
safety regulations.

5.2 Operation Activities

 Prepare all the materials, tools, and equipment to be used.


 Have an updated one-line diagram and MT modular plans.
 Drivers and companions will use the vehicle's seat belt.
 Verify The vehicle must have a standing ladder to facilitate the loading and
unloading of materials.
 The transport of the material must be in vehicles closed on the perimeter to prevent
them from falling.
 It is prohibited to carry personnel in the back with the materials to avoid injuries
and/or falls.
 When moving large quantities of cables, they should be wound on coils.
 Materials must be stacked evenly and must not be mixed with others.
 In the case of the transformers, they will rest on wooden blocks, also having wedges
in order to prevent them from sliding.
 In the case of switches or disconnectors, these must be properly secured to avoid
sudden movements.
 Coils of cables and conductors as well as transformers and equipment will be
distanced from any other contact point by around 50 cm.

 The small material (terminals, connectors, tie clips, etc.) will be placed in boxes in
order to facilitate their location and transportation.
 All materials must be secured with strobe ropes and/or ties to prevent them from
sliding.
 Once the vehicle is loaded with the materials, signaling flags will be placed on the
back.
 The personnel in charge of the transportation and handling of materials will be
obligatorily trained in accordance with the already established methods of
transportation and handling of materials.
 The maximum speeds for the transfer of materials in heavy vehicles are established
in the traffic regulations, which must be respected at all times.
 The guides or documents that prove the departure of materials must be carried at all
times.
 When arriving at the destination, the vehicle must park in an appropriate place, so
that it does not interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic, and sign according to
the norm if it occupies a public road.
 Materials must be removed from the vehicle in an orderly manner.
 Materials should not be thrown or rolled or handled roughly.
 Verify that the vehicle is in perfect condition, if any anomaly is observed, take
corrective measures if necessary.

7. Responsibility

 It is the responsibility of the Driver to put into practice the activities of this
Procedure.
 It is the responsibility of the field supervisor to apply this document.
 It is the responsibility of the Security Supervisor to enforce this procedure in the
field.

8. Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Management

8.1 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 Safety helmet.
 Leather gloves.
 Dielectric shoes.
 Safety glasses.
 High visibility vest
 Uniform.

8.2 Collective Protection Equipment

• Drinking water necessary to minimize the risk of dehydration.


• First Aid Kit (for the work area), complying with the minimum provision.
• Evacuation stretcher (for the work area).
• Safety signage with red or yellow tape.
