TOYOTA Information System
TOYOTA Information System
BACKGROUND
Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturing companies in the world and, above all, the
most respected for its quality. The headquarters are located in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan and the
beginning of its operations, formally, took place in 1937.
But Toyota has not only produced vehicles. It is a company that has generated a philosophy, a
production system and a set of guiding principles that are admired and studied by academics and
entrepreneurs around the world.
Toyota uses a vehicle order management system based on Oracle's E-Business Suite software to
reduce the time between a customer's order and the delivery of a vehicle to the customer.
Oracle E-Business Suite is an application that allows you to make better decisions, reduce costs
and improve performance. It also allows your agents and technicians to meet and exceed
customer expectations by strengthening them with coherent, accurate, useful and real
information.
The software easily integrates with the company's existing systems, and even with those of
independent Toyota dealers and national sales and marketing companies, which operate their
own information systems based on various technologies.
This system links Toyota and dealerships to help work with customers to customize their cars and
deliver them in days. Additionally, it allows distributors to order parts, download sales and other
company information, file warranty claims and manage financing and insurance for online
customers, saving millions of dollars in printing and distribution costs.
Delmia (production): Allows individual engineering teams to use design and manufacturing data to
create a plan that specifies in what order car parts should be installed through the production line.
1. Define value from the customer's point of view: Most customers want to buy a solution, not a
product or service.
2. Identify the value stream: Eliminate waste by finding steps that do not add value, some are
unavoidable and others are eliminated immediately.
3. Create flow: Make the entire process flow smoothly and directly from one value-adding step to
another, from raw materials to the end consumer.
4. Produce customer “pull”: Once the flow is done, you are able to produce according to customer
orders instead of producing based on long-term sales forecasts.
5. Pursue perfection: Once a company achieves the first four steps, it becomes clear to those
involved that adding efficiency is always possible.
Web Information System used by the Toyota dealer network. Register and control business
information with end consumers
1. TSW is for dealerships certified and approved by Toyota of Brazil within the framework of the
Toyota Sales Way program. The execution of the 8 sales steps is recommended in addition to
other procedures that aim to measure the quality of customer service and satisfaction.
2. Light, is the most simplified version that basically consists of the online integration via the
Internet of dealerships and factories on the showroom flow, vehicle reservation; Toyota's
exclusive After-Service Accompaniment (APS); that analyzes customer satisfaction.
The Win application was recently evolved into the Web environment because online integration
via WebServices and product development with Web 2.0 resources was needed.
The Toyota Sales System is a Web solution made available and implemented on the servers of
each Toyota dealer. The use of the application is done via web browser from the distributor's
Intranet. The user authenticates himself in the system and, based on the permissions granted, he
himself completes the data on some pages of the system. In addition to the traditional process of
storing data in the Toyota dealer's database, online processes send and/or receive information
from Toyota of Brazil for the operational continuity of the application. All this connectivity was
developed with Webservices and digital certificate.
