Hamilton Depression Scale

The Hamilton Depression Scale is a tool to measure a person's level of depression. It consists of 17 categories of depression-related symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, and physical symptoms. A score is assigned to each symptom depending on its frequency and intensity. A total score greater than 12 suggests the possibility of a depressive disorder and recommends evaluation by a health professional.
