WHO IS IT ADDRESSED TO?

To children with ADHD and ASD.

AIM
Evaluate a child's sensory processing patterns in the different contexts that are home,
school and society.
Search: These are people who carry out actions to obtain more sensory input.
Avoidance: These are people who create many routines and order to reduce sensory
input.
Sensitivity: they are very demanding people.
Registration: these are people who ignore stimuli and are not overwhelmed by what
is happening around them.

The questionnaire is divided into 3 types:

 Sensory Profile-2 Child (3 to 14 years old) (86 items – application: 15-20' -

parents/caregivers)
 Sensory profile-2 Brief (also answered by parents) (34 items – application: 5-
10' - parents/caregivers)
 Sensory Profile-2 School (for teachers too) (44 items – application: 15' -
teachers)

GROSS MOTOR FUNCTION CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM

AGE
5 months to 16 years

WHO IS IT ADDRESSED TO?

For people with cerebral palsy

GOALS
To measure the change in gross motor function that occurs over time in children with
cerebral palsy
It consists of 5 levels that describe the gross motor function of people with
cerebral palsy based on self-initiated movement skills.
The levels:
1. The child moves to and from the sitting position and sits on the floor freely, and
can manipulate objects with both hands. Crawls or crawls on hands and knees,
pushes with arms to stand, and walks while holding onto furniture.
2. The child remains seated on the floor, but uses his hands to support himself
and maintain balance. Crawls on stomach or crawls on hands and knees,
pushes with arms to stand, and walks while holding onto furniture.
3. The child remains seated on the floor with support in the lumbar region. He
rolls over and manages to crawl upside down and forward.
4. The child controls his head, but requires trunk support to remain seated. They
roll supine and can roll prone
5. Great limitation of voluntary control. They are unable to support the head and
trunk in anti-gravity positions in prone and sitting positions.
Made by Elena Chico, Alicia Jimenez, Laura Calzón and Natalia Fernández.
COP-R (TO scale)
what is it? It is a scale that measures proprioception in the clinical setting.
Together with the SOSI-M scale, it gives us information about
postural control, motor approach, vestibular and proprioceptive
processing.
general As an observation instrument, it allows 18 items to be analyzed
idea and is one of the first instruments that measures proprioception in
the clinical setting.
main goal Obtain information about postural control, motor approach,
vestibular and proprioceptive processing.
age 4 and 14 years

DeGangi-Berk sensory integration test (should be typical of TO)

https://www.therapro.com/Browse-Category/Sensory-Processing/DeGangi-
Berk-Test-of-Sensory-Integration-TSI.html
what is it? Standardized tool, developed by DeGangi and Berk in 1983, to
detect deficits in the sensory integration process.
general idea 36 items, grouped into 3 main areas: postural control, bilateral
motor coordination and integration of reflexes. It develops over
30 minutes and is classified between “abnormal” and “normal”
development.
main goal Identify deficits in the sensory integration process.
It allows the early detection of deficits in sensory processing that
could lead to later learning difficulties.
age 3-5 years
A lot with children with autism

Movement assessment for children “MABC-2”

https://www.pearsonclinical.es/mabc-2-bateria-de-evaluacion-del-
movimiento-para-ninos-2
what is it? Tool to identify, assess and guide treatment in motor delays or
dysfunctions. Detect movement difficulties in children (4-16
years), and plan an intervention program accordingly.
general For each age range there are 8 tests that evaluate three specific
idea domains: the child's motor competence: manual dexterity,
aiming and catching, and balance.

 Fine motor.
 Fine motor integration.
 Manual dexterity.
 Bilateral coordination.
 Balance.
 Agility and speed.
 Coordination of upper extremities.
 Force.

main goal Improve the child's motor competence through participation in

activities of daily living.
age 4 to 16 years (in 3 Ranges)
Assessment at the TSFI sensorimotor level
https://es.scribd.com/document/537201953/Evaluacion-Integracion-Sensorial-
TSFI#
what is it? Scale that is used to identify alterations in the sensory
integration of babies, at risk of developing learning difficulties.
general idea
It provides, through the analysis of 24 items, an overall score of
sensory reactivity and processing, as well as independent scores
of: tactile pressure reactivity, visual-tactile integration, adaptive
motor function, oculomotor control, and vestibular stimulation
reactivity. Plus, it has a quick 20-minute application and
interaction with the baby is simply required.

main goal Identify alterations in sensory integration in babies.

age Babies between 4 and 18 months.

SENSORY INTEGRATION AND PRAXIS TEST (SIPT)

https://ceivalencia.com/es/evaluacion-de-dificultades-en-el-procesamiento-
sensorial/
what is it? Designed exclusively to detect possible sensory alterations at the
most basic levels, which could interfere with development levels.
general The Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) is a standardized
idea test that consists of 17 tests that assess the state of Sensory
Integration and Praxis. These are questions regarding the child's
daily life, which allow us to delimit which daily aspects develop
normally, and which aspects are negatively influenced by poor
sensory processing. The Sensory Profile is a test that detects
sensory modulation difficulties and relates them to behavioral
difficulties, emotional problems and delays in the development of
children.
main goal Evaluate in children:
 Visual perception free of motor component,
 Somatosensory Perception
 Praxis
 Sensorimotor.

Know which skills, and to what extent, are affecting their areas of
development, behavior and academic learning.

age children from 4 years to 8 years and 11 months of age.

what is Evaluation of the lateral dominance pattern of the hand, foot
it? and eye , a very relevant aspect in difficulties with reading and
writing.
general Assess a child's predilection to use the right or left side of his or her
idea body more frequently. It consists of short parts that look attractive
to children. It evaluates possible problems with reading, writing,
spelling, speech disorders, neurological problems, etc. 4-part coast.

main -Have an approach to the type of psychomotor development of the

goal child. -Determine if there is a certain degree (partial or total) of
laterality in the child . -Evaluate the child's cognitive development
in terms of understanding (or lack thereof) of what will be asked of
them during the test.

age From 6 years

MOTOR-VISUAL-PERCEPTION TEST (MVPT)
https://strokengine.ca/en/assessments/motor-free-visual-perception-test-mvpt/
what is it? Standardized visual perception test. Unlike others, it measures
typical visual perception, this is measured independently of motor
skills. It was originally created for children by Colarusso &
Hammill but is now commonly used in adults. It is important for
writing, as children perceive it is very important.

general This measure aims to evaluate visual perception independently of

idea motor ability. The items from the original MVPT, MVPT-R and
MVPT-3 represent 5 domains: Visual Discrimination, Visual
Figure-Ground, Visual Memory, Visual Closure, Visual Spatial.
Original MVPT: 36 items.
MVPT-R: 40 items
MVPT-3: 65 items

main goal It can be used to determine differences in visual perception in

several different diagnostic groups and is often used by
occupational therapists to evaluate people with head injury.

age It is administered to children over 3 years of age, adolescents and

adults under 95 years of age.
MVPT-R children up to 12 years old.
MVPT-3 from 4 to 95 years → 4 to 10 years start with the first
block; 11 to 95 years old start with the third block.
