1. DEFINITION OF COMPUTER CENTER.

A computer center , data processing center , data center or data center is an entity, office
or department that is responsible for the processing of data and information in a systematic
manner. The processing is carried out using computers that are equipped with the necessary
hardware and software to carry out this task. Generally, these computers are networked and
have an Internet connection.

2. WHAT IS A COMPUTER CENTER RESPONSIBLE FOR?

The computing center is responsible for the design and implementation of systems within a
company. In this case, it is an area whose purpose is to facilitate the work of the rest of the
departments. The training of users, the maintenance of computer equipment and the
development of feasibility studies are among its missions.

3. DO YOU BELIEVE THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS IS NECESSARY IN THE

ACTIVITIES TO BE DEVELOPED IN A COMPUTER CENTER? SUPPORT YOUR
RESPONSE

The administrator has the obligation to carry out functions in his computer center such as
keeping track of employees for which they will require a database that must be presented to
the analyst, in turn the analyst must deliver a report to the programmer , The same will
have to deliver the skeleton of the database to the capturer so that it can be "registered" to
the employees, and the capturer must deliver the database already captured to the computer
operator , who will be in charge of operating it, since All of these fulfill an administrative
function.

4. WHO IS THE PERSON WHO GIVES THE ORDERS TO THE COMPUTER CENTER?
ANALYZE

THE ADMINISTRATOR carries out the process of creating, designing and maintaining an
environment in which people work or work in groups to efficiently achieve selected goals.
performing the administrative functions of planning , organization , personnel integration ,
direction and control .

5. IS PLANNING A USEFUL ELEMENT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPUTER

CENTER?

Process by which a vision of the future is obtained, where it is possible to determine and
achieve objectives, by choosing a course of action.

6. FOR THE OPERATION OF A COMPUTER CENTER IS IT NECESSARY TO DELEGATE

FUNCTIONS TO EACH AREA? BECAUSE?

Operate the central computing system and keep the system available to users.

· Execute the assigned processes according to the pre-established production programs and
calendars, leaving the corresponding record in the process requests.
· Review the results of the processes and incorporate corrective actions according to
instructions from your immediate superior.

· Make backup copies (back-up) of the information and computing processes carried out in the
Directorate, according to pre-established parameters.

· Mark and/or signal the products of the executed processes.

· Keep records of failures, problems, solutions, actions developed, backups, recoveries and
work performed.
· Ensure that the computerized system remains functioning properly and be vigilant to detect
and correct failures in it.

Carry out maintenance and cleaning tasks on computer center equipment.

· Strictly apply established safety and control standards.

· Keep the immediate boss informed about the operation of the computer center.
· Comply with the rules, regulations and procedures established by Management for the
development of assigned functions.

Centralized
Here, the data, application programs and presentation are located on the server. The final
image is transmitted to the users' terminals. From the terminals, character strings of user
input are forwarded to the host. This concept is what serves as the basis for mainframes.

Decentralized
The databases are distributed on different servers or even clients. The applications also run
on different servers or partly also on clients.

Centralized/Decentralized
It combines the characteristics of the aforementioned forms (centralized and decentralized),
resulting in a network of computers with data found both internally and on the server, since it
supports the information on each of the workstations.

7. WHAT IS ACHIEVED WITH A GOOD PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT FUNCTION?

When there is an administrator, he or she is involved in the physical and economic control of
the proper functioning of the hardware and software equipment, as well as the performance
of the work staff, so that you have fluidity and proper management of information and
equipment, to maintain the necessary conditions for everything to work correctly.

8. DOES A GOOD EQUIPMENT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE RISKS? ANALYZE THE SITUATION AND BASED ON
IT.
Yes, Preventive maintenance is a scheduled activity of inspections, both functional and safety,
adjustments, repairs, analysis, cleaning, lubrication, calibration, which must be carried out
periodically based on an established plan. The purpose is to foresee breakdowns or defects in
their initial state and correct them to keep the installation in full operation at optimal levels and
efficiency.

9. DO THE MOST FREQUENT DAMAGES IN A COMPUTER CENTER CORRESPOND TO

PHYSICAL DAMAGES? ANALYZE AND COMMENT?

OVERLOAD: Many occasions usually occur due to voltage variations. What is a voltage
variation? Electrical problems basically refer to blackouts, voltage surges and drops, noise,
voltage spikes, power supply interruptions, among others, creating the need to have products,
equipment and services that offer high quality and reliable solutions, guaranteeing the
continuity of the user's daily operations.

1.Blackouts: Total loss of electrical energy for indefinite periods of time.

2.Voltage Spikes: Drastic increase in Voltage in a very short period of time.

3. Voltage Lows (brownout): Brief decrease in the Voltage level.

4-Over-Voltage: Increases in voltage for considerable periods of time.

5-Noise Lines: Interference that affects the uniformity of the wave such as electromagnetic
interference (EMI) or Radio Frequency interference (RFI)

6-Frequency Variation: Frequency deviation (50 or 60 Hz)7-Harmonic distortion: Wave

change due to frequency mmm to begin with, protect ourselves from these small
inconveniences, these are some devices that we can use:

Compatibility: The software requires more features for updating and better information
management. One solution would be to have a computer that can be given an update.

Connectivity: Lack of communication. This can be solved by checking that the cable known as
the pachcord is not damaged or broken. Another would be to check that the pachcord is
making contact with the jack.

PROBLEMS REGARDING THE SOFTWARE:

Connectivity: Controller failure. Well, these can be caused by several factors, one of them
would be that the hub or router is no longer useful, the switch has already broken down, or
equally, as in the previous case, the cables that are connected to it have already deteriorated.
Another failure would be the presence of viruses, or that someone is hacking our effective
solution, first it would be to get a good antivirus, co-licensed and everything, because if we
think about downloading them from the Internet, they usually do not work as we want them
to work for us, That is why it is important to get a license for an antivirus to avoid problems of
this type in the future. This as a curious fact, if our computer does not have an original, it can
be blocked over time, and even lose the information we have on our computer.
10. WHAT DOES PERSONNEL PLANNING CONSIST OF? ANALYZE AND COMMENT

In this planning stage, the computer center administrator must select the personnel required
for the operation of the systems center according to their professional profile, their
preparation and their experience in the workplace. It is the way of organizing personnel
according to their capabilities and functions assigned to them within their department, as
shown below:

Computer systems engineer:

A person with the deepest knowledge in the field of computing, he is generally in charge of
managing computer centers.

Lic. in computer systems:

Person with computer knowledge focused on the area of administration.

Network supervisor:

Person capable of managing, supervising and developing network applications and

maintenance.

Systems analyst:

Person trained to analyze and solve problems or mishaps that arise within the company,
preparing for their performance (algorithms, flow charts) and other analyst resources.

Programmer:

Person with extensive criteria and knowledge in programming, with which he develops and
programs the computers in the computer center.

Data capture:

Responsible for feeding information to the computer system, its capabilities must be (speed in
using the keyboard, use of word processing, spreadsheets, databases and packaging in
general.

Computer operator:

A person with broad criteria who uses the operating system and operates all its systems.
