Second unit summary

Symptomatic exercises of non-locutionary parameters

Posture exercises

Look in front of a mirror The patient must stand in front of a mirror, while the
therapist corrects the posture.

Contact points in matt Patient lying on a mat and recognizing, with the help of the
therapist, each point of contact on his body

monkey pose Patient must simulate the posture of a monkey to…

Dynamics with a partner Standing facing each other, one hits the other's hands
trying to destabilize him. To do this, the other must place
his feet firmly on the ground to avoid falling.

Resistance as a couple We walk and the other person has to resist our step, trying
to destabilize us, and we have to try to return to the center
axis, avoiding imbalance.

muscle release You begin by walking and becoming aware of your entire
body and thus trying to take an appropriate posture. You
can see where the most tension occurs in the feet, knees,
hips, chest, neck, shoulders, armpits, and hands.

Relaxation for body posture Position yourself in a squat position, letting all your body
weight fall: 1- squatting position, bending your head
towards your chest; 2- squatting position bending the head
towards the chest emitting /m/; 3- squatting position
bending the head towards the chest emitting /m/.

Muscle tone exercises

Segmental relaxation Movements of the head, neck, arms, etc. are made.

Laryngeal massages Massages are performed on the extrinsic muscles, which


can be with cream or heat.

Rag monkey Patient stands and little by little he transforms into a rag
monkey, first the head, arms, trunk, etc.

Freschel Instruct the patient to chew in a relaxed manner, with the


mouth open, in an exaggerated manner and acting as if

sounds.

hand over your mouth, the patient must feel
the vibration when the sound is made.

Tongue shift The patient should bring the tongue as far


back as possible, but without detaching it

Intensity exercises

Mezza di voce with /z/ Raise and lower the intensity from the
normal tone to the high pitch and lower it to
the low pitch by emitting the sound /z/

Intensity increase with automatic series You must say an automatic series starting
in your voice volume until increasing the
intensity in the last word.

Reading with large and small letters You will be shown a text in which the letters
will increase or decrease in size so that you
can read it.

speak or think loudly You should make your voice louder than
normal.

y-buzz You will be asked to bring your lips together


and, leaving them slightly open, you must
make the sound /y/

confidential voice The patient should make the softest voice


possible, but without whispering since it
should be a hoarse sound.

Calling voice You will be asked to say “HEY” in a space,


then the therapist moves away and you
must continue saying the same word,

Pitch exercises

Ascending and descending glissando You must make a sound starting from your
tone of voice towards the highest pitch and
then go down to the lowest pitch.

Raise pitch with musical scales We use a keyboard, a key will be pressed
and the patient must make a sound as
similar to the musical note they hear.

Lower tone by tone + /u/ The tone of voice must be lowered from

and quickly and release the air by emitting
an /m/.

Stacatto lip buzz Do the lip buzz with the emission between
