2 Map Conversion
The MRR map format is special for TCP usage. The Planet/EET format map
should be converted to MRR. Although the Planet/EET format map can be view
in TCP, it cannot be involved in calculation if it isn’t MRR format.

2.1 Projection file

For Planet /EET format map, there is a projection file in the folder ”Heights”
named projection(Planet/EET) or projection.txt(Asset). The format is below:

WGS-1984

18

Gauss-Kruger

0 105 500000 0

Latitude of origin, Longitude of central meridian, false easting, false northing

-------------------------------------------OR-----------------------------------------------------

WGS-84

47

UTM

0.0 99.0 500000.0 0.0

Latitude of origin, Longitude of central meridian, false easting, false northing

If the projection file is the first type, please go on following from chapter 2.1.1; if
the projection file is the second type, please go to chapter 2.1.7 directly.

2.1.3 Create a new coordinate system.

For example: Deyang. Select Gauss Kruger in Datum. Select Transverse

Mercator in Map projection.

Set projection parameters according to the parameters in the projection file of

Planet/EET.

2.1.7 Choose Geographic Reference System (2)

If the projection file is the second type, it needn’t to create a new coordinate
system. Ignore chapter 2.1.2 and 2.1.3. In chapter 2.1.5, tick Use UTM
reference system, choose “UTM zone 47” in UTM Zone, which listed in
projection file. Then repeat chapter 2.1.6 to finish map conversion.

3.1 Create project folder

For example: ”C:/TCP_Chongqing”. The project name can not include Chinese.
Copy the map folder under the project folder in order to replant. For example:
“C:/TCP_Chongqing/heights” or “C:/TCP_Chongqing/clutter”.

3.2 Set up a project

Copy the demo project (C:\Program Files\TEMS Products\TEMS CellPlanner

7.0.0\Client\Demo\GSM\Projects)to your project folder and rename it. The
project extended name is .n6x or .n7x.

File -> Project settings -> Maps, fill the map route in Map root directory. Choose
proper Reference system. Then add height and clutter MRR map.

4 Create/Edit site database

4.1 Create site manually

Site can be created manually especially for adding a little of sites. It is mainly
introduce to create site using template.

4.2 Create site database by template

4.2.1 Export cell file template

File -> Export -> Cells text file to export cell file template with the example
project.

In Cell export window, choose the attributes you need from available attributes to
selected attributes. Indicate the export file path and name, then OK. Start to
export.

file and save. Select Yes to keep the format.

5.4 Propagation Model

Utilities -> System explorer -> Propagation Models. TCP supports four kinds of
model: 9999、Urban、Okumura Hata (OH)、Walfiich-Ikegami (WI). It is
recommended that if the resolution of map is lower than 20 meters, choose the
9999 model; if the resolution of map is higher than 10 meters and building
information included, choose Urban model. The other propagation model is not
recommended.

The parameter A0、A1、A2、A3 and landuse correction factors in 9999 model

can be achieved by model tuning. For Urban model, which is a affirmatory
propagation model, only land use correction factors need to be adjusted.

Select the frequency band. Choose the cell list in Filter which you want to
allocate frequency. In Minimum Channel Spacing, Cell means the frequency
separation between transmitters in the same cell; Site means the frequency
separation between cells in the same site; Neighbor means the frequency
separation between neighbor cells. When allocating frequency, the algorithm try
to meet the requirement. Otherwise, it will be recorded as cost.

The principle of AFP is try to minimum the cost of interference and that of
frequency separation.

If you want to plan all the frequency, choose Plan; if you want to maintain
existing frequency and only plan additional frequency, choose Keep

Then, Press Start. You can capture result anytime, You can apply AFP result
anytime.
