1) Daniel and Chloe, together have a collection of 45 coins. If


both of them lost 5 coins each, the product of the coins they
have now is 124. Find the number of coins they had to start
with.

2) A mobile phone manufacturing unit produces a certain


number of mobile phones in a day. The cost of each phone
was found to be 55 minus the number of mobile phones
produced in a day. On a particular day, the total cost of
production was $750, find the number of mobile phones
produced on that day.

3) Lucas has been thinking of setting up his office. He bought a


rectangular plot of area 528 ft 2 . The length of the plot is one
more than twice its width. Find the dimensions of the plot.

4) Hailey has thought of two integers in her mind. She is going


to give hints to Luke to help him guess the numbers.
She says, ‘I am thinking of two consecutive integers whose
product is 756’. What are the integers she is thinking of?

5) Anna’s mother is 26 years older than her. The product of their


ages 3 years from now will be 360. Find Anna’s present age.

6) A tourist bus covers 480 miles at a uniform speed. If the


speed had been 8 miles per hour less, then it would have
been 3 hours more to cover the distance. Find the speed of
the tourist bus.
