Procedure
1. Before switching on the control panel, establish the appropriate circuit connection to
drive the servo motor smoothly without any jerks (as shown in fig.1.1 and fig.1.2.).
2. In order to make the connection with details, firstly establish the SRV-ON connection
and now zeroSPD connection with connecting leads (as shown in fig.1.3.).
3. After that establish connection on SPR/TRQR/SPL with ±10V, and then connect the
red probe connecting with DMM on ±10V and other probe (black) with GRD in order
measure the output voltage with the help of Digital Multimeter (DMM) (as shown in
fig.1.4.).
4. Now setup and power the control panel with the help of a software PanaTerm installed
in computer system operating it and update the software as per the parameter to be
required for the evaluation.
5. Now click on the icon of pre-installed software (PanaTerm) in the connected computer
system with control panel. Set the module, selection of the Communication with Driver
on “Communicate with driver” (as shown in the fig. 1.5)
6. After that a dialogue appearing as series setting, select the MINAS-A6 (as shown in
fig. 1.6.).
7. After selecting MINAS-A6 series setting, go to drive (where the software files assumed
to be installed), G:\ > Now Goto AC Servo data > Parameters and select the option,
Speed.prm5 and click ok for the dialogue (selection of the parameter to be read)
appearing, “Read from the file” (as shown in fig.1.7.).
8. After clicking ok, a sequential dialogue appeared mentioning the details on parameters
with setup range and values for different classes (0 to 15) (as shown in fig.1.8.)
9. Now switch ON (Red Knob on control panel) to operate the control panel with updated
software settings (as shown in fig.1.2.).
10. Now switch on the DMM and note the readings of voltage and motor speed parameter
(in rpm) with the installed tachometer on control panel (as shown in fig.1.2.).
11. First take the readings of voltage rise ranges from 1 to 10Vand observe the variation in
motor speed. Then take the readings of voltage drop ranges from 10 to 1V and note the
variation in motor speed.
12. Graph the voltage rise and voltage drop versus speed of servo motor (rpm) and evaluate
the relationship between them.

Conclusion
After performing this experiment, we have observed a linear graphical relationship
between servo motor speed (in rpm) and voltage in both voltage rise and drop scenarios.
However, a slight amount of difference (hysteresis) is found while operating the motor with
voltage rise and drop ranges from 0 to 10V. Furthermore, it is observed that AC servomotor
has the best use for low power control applications.

Safety Precautions
1. Apply voltage to servomotor slowly to avoid any systematic errors.
2. Set the voltage from DMM accurately in order have the precise reading for motor speed
(in rpm) on tachometer.
3. Take the reading accurately as the meter fluctuates from the tachometer.
4. Switch OFF the setup when not in use.
5. Disconnect the power supply before making any connections or adjustments to the
circuit.
6. Use insulated tools and equipment to handle electrical components.
7. Feed or update the software carefully and operate it correctly as per requirements.
8. Operate the motor on nominal input voltage range (0-10V) in order to avoid the motor
overload condition.
9. To avoid fire or shock hazards, observe all ratings and marks on the instrument
10. Do not operate the system in wet / damp conditions.
11. Make sure that all the connections are tightly fitted on the control panel.
12. Do not overload electrical outlets or use damaged extension cords to prevent short
circuits and potential fires.
13. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent tripping hazards and facilitate
easy access to emergency equipment.
14. Use one hand whenever possible to minimize the risk of a complete electrical path
through the body.
15. Do not touch exposed wires or components when the circuit is live.
16. Connect one probe (red) of DMM with ±10V pin and other (black) with ground pin to
measure the exact voltage reading.
