Think about the use of eyeshadows, lipsticks, highlighter, eyebrow shapes, blush, etc.
2. Watch these videos about the evolution of make-up in the 20th century. Which make-up trends would
you bring back? Discuss.
3. Read the manual on how to recreate a make-up look from the 80’s. Then, finish the title.
The 1980’s was a decade for boldness and brightness. From fierce neon lips to
iconic blue eyeshadows.
Do you want to recreate this look at home? Don’t worry, we’ve got you
covered!
First, apply your face primer.
Then, apply a full coverage foundation. Use a lighter shade than your natural
skin tone.
Afterwards, take a bright pink blush and emphasise your cheekbones; apply
blush from the cheeks to the temples.
Next, take your time to do your eye make-up. Apply a matte blue eyeshadow
along your crease towards your browbone and add a shimmery silver
eyeshadow along your eyelid. Finish up your eye make-up with a black liquid
eyeliner and black mascara. However, colourful mascaras were trendy in the
80’s, so you can choose blue or pink mascara to make your eye make-up
even bolder.
After that, focus on your eyebrows and make them thick and natural.
Finally, go for a fuchsia lip, the signature lip of the 80’s. Use a lip-liner for
extra-defined lips.
A. Back to the 80’s: a shy and sophisticated look. B. Back to the 80’s: boring eyes but bold lips.
C. Back to the 80’s: returning to warm colours. D.Back to the 80’s: all about excess.
