C. Lesson Proper:
The Components/Elements of Weather and Commonly Used Weather Instruments
The speed of the wind maybe fast or slow, light or moderate. An anemometer
measured wind speed.
Wind direction is the direction from which the wind is blowing. Wind vane is a
device that tells the direction of the wind. The four letters N E W S of the wind vane
represents the four directions: North, East, West, and South.
Cloud formation. The sky is clear when the weather is fine. The sky maybe clear,
partly cloudy or cloudy depending on the kind of temperature for the day.
Precipitation occurs when so much water has condensed that the air cannot hold
it anymore, the clouds get heavy and the water falls back to the earth in the form of
rain, hail or snow. A rain gauge is used to measure the amount of rainfall.
Weather chart tells us about the weather components that determine the weather
condition at any given time.
