Notes:
• The column width can be adjusted with the mouse cursor. Place the cursor on the column border
and move the border by dragging the mouse.
• Data contained in each column can be sorted in alphabetical order (ascending or descending).
Click the title of the corresponding column and access the contextual menu: Sort > Ascending
or Descending.
• To view data while continuing to scroll through the contents of a record, use the freeze feature.
Frozen data does not scroll and remains displayed while you scroll through the rest of the
record.
Click the title of the corresponding column and access the contextual menu: Freeze or
Unfreeze. The Freeze option keeps part of the display on screen while you read other data. In a
table, the Freeze and Unfreeze options are applied to specific columns of the properties area. In
records, these options apply to specific lines of the properties area.
Entry parameters are available from tabs in the properties area to simplify the edition of some
values. These tabs are located at the bottom and top of the properties area:
- The tabs located on the top are used to display parameters of other applications where the
selected entry is also processed.
Example 1:
The Configuration application contains an Accounting tab on top of the properties area which
displays entry parameters from the Accounting/Traffic application.
- The tabs located at the bottom lists entry parameters present per category.
Example 2:
The Configuration tab of the Configuration application contains at the bottom part of the properties
area the following tabs: Individual, Organization, Personal, Miscellaneous, and OmniPCX
resources.
Entries contain parameters whose importance is determined by their font:
- Bold (italic or normal): these parameters are mandatory and must configured
- Normal: these parameters are not mandatory. They can remain blanked or keep their
default value
- Italic: these parameters cannot be configured. they are automatically configured by the
system

speed dialing number from the feature category (managed by the installation technician).
For each speed dialing number, it is possible to create up to 15 different aliases. These aliases
are extra names used in the Dial by name feature.
Each range can only contain speed dialing numbers for which indices are successive (e.g.:
101 to 150).

There must be distinction between direct speed dialing numbers and speed dialing numbers by
range.
Direct speed dialing numbers
The user sends the number by dialing a prefix.
All direct speed dialing numbers are placed in one range, which is global with respect to the
network. The content is distributed automatically to all the nodes in this network.
This range cannot overlap other ranges with speed dialing numbers by range.

     ! " # 35/63

Chapter 2 ' ( )

Example 1:
Range with first index of 100 and length of 300

Speed dialing numbers by range

As a complement to the direct speed dialing numbering used by the entire network, speed dialing
numbering by range is used to manage speed dialing numbers:
• Specific to nodes
• Specific to entities across the network
To send a speed dialing number, users dial the prefix that corresponds to the range, followed by
the order number in this range.
The speed dialing numbers are contained in one or more ranges, numbered from 0 to 399.
Ranges can overlap, if needed, and superimpose.
Example 2:
200 speed dialing numbers are divided into 3 ranges: 1 range with 95 numbers, 1 range with 10 numbers,
and 1 range with 105 numbers.

36/63 ! " #

' ( )

On initialization, ranges are empty.

For each range created, a seizure prefix must be attributed (8 digits maximum).
Example 3:
Prefix for range 1 = 11
Prefix for range 2 = 12
Prefix for range 3 = 13
Users with access to range 1 should compose 1150 to reach the speed dialing number with the index 50.
Users with access to range 2 should compose 12104 to reach the speed dialing number with the index 199.
Users with access to range 3 should compose 139 to reach the speed dialing number with the index 104.
If ISDN access is designed in the system, as well as the option Automatic Attendant, each speed
dialing number (by range) can identify incoming correspondents from the ISDN. The incoming
numbers of are translated into directory numbers. A user called by a correspondent for whom the
number is declared in speed dialing, will be the directory name of the correspondent on this user's
display.

The available attributes are:
Direct Speed Dial No. Prefix
Fill in the prefix (8 characters maximum, 0 to 9, A to D, and *).
This prefix is automatically shown in the translator's table of prefixes.
Users dial this prefix when they want to send the corresponding call number.
Call Number
Provided with an outgoing node seizure prefix, as well as a number to be sent on this node.
The digits of the recorded number (20 maximum) must be declared one after the other. They must
not be separated by spaces, dashes or other symbols to indicate, for example, of any
intermediary tones.

38/63 ! " #

' ( )

Example 1:
Outgoing trunk seizure prefix: 0. The external number is: 01 55 66 70 00.
Enter the number recorded in the following way: 00155667000.
A recorded number can contain 20 digits maximum, including the seizure prefix.
The equivalent «End of keypad» can be entered using the sign * at the end of the recorded
number if it is inferior to the declared format (e.g.: 03615*).
Directory Name and Directory First Name
These are the user's name and first name respectively. They contain a maximum of 20
characters. They are used by the OmniVista 8770 application.
Note 1:
Inputting the directory name and first name (20 characters respectively) allows the directory name (12
characters) and first name (8 characters) call attributes to be automatically filled in by name and vice-versa.
These attributes can be managed separately. Given the difference in length and, if the name and first name
are too long, they can be truncated (refer to the attributes Phone book Name (Dial by name) and Phone
book First Name).
UTF-8 Directory Name and Directory First Name
The UTF-8 directory name and first name can each have a maximum of:
• 43 Latin characters
• 21 Greek/Cyrillic
• 14 CJK (China, Japan, Korea)
Call Restrictions – Barring
If this parameter is validated, the contents of the speed dialing number is subject to the control of
discrimination, according to the category of public network access assigned to the user.
Overfl. Dir. Spd Dl. No.Pref.
This information is provided to validate overflow when an outgoing trunk is completely busy. Its
contents are equal to the prefix of a direct speed dialing number.
Auto. Attendant Calling Right
Fill in the attribute with a number corresponding to a category number which defines access to
features assigned to the caller (priority, possibility of overflow, access to voice mailbox, etc.) and
entered by the installation technician. The default value is equal to 0.
This category, taken into account in the «Standard automatic» feature, is used if the caller can be
recognized by his/her «identifier» (ISDN) (the caller's number must be contained in the speed
dialing number).
Call Type
This attribute is used to define the type of call from the following:
• Normal
• VIP (Very Important Pers.)
• Internal
• IP
• ISVPN (ghost private network)
This function is used on attendant sets and terminals to distinguish «incoming» ISDN calls
according to their importance.
Timed Forward. Dir. Spd. Dl. No.
Fill in the attribute with the prefix of a speed dialing number. If the initial «open» speed dialing
number is not filled in by the user before the timer elapses, the PBX automatically sends the call
number that corresponds to the direct speed dialing overflow number.

     ! " # 39/63

Chapter 2 ' ( )

Example 2:
• The prefix 3500 corresponds to the number 0015566. Overflow number of time elapsed: 3501.
• The prefix 3501 corresponds to the external number 00155667000 (attendant).
Users dial the prefix 3500. The PBX generates the number 0015566.
After the timer has elapsed, if the user has not filled in the number, the PBX automatically dials
the prefix number 3501: 00155667000.
Range number
This attribute is used to define a ghost range number (0 to 31), to enable discrimination of this
number according to the ranges authorized to a user in the telephone feature category.

A set can belong to a call pick-up group (refer to: Creating a user set ) and a hunt group
simultaneously.
This menu is used to create, modify, or delete one or more hunt groups.

2.6.1 Creating a hunt group

1. From the OmniPCX Enterprise configuration window, go to Groups > Hunt Group.
2. Access the contextual menu and select Create.
The following window is displayed:
___change-begin___

The available attributes are:

Directory Number
This is the hunt group directory number. The number can contain up to 8 characters. Each
character can assume a value from 0 to 9, *, # , and A, B, C, or D.
Directory Name
This name (16 alphanumeric characters maximum) is used to identify the hunt group during the
allocation of a set from the configuration of a user set menu (refer to: Creating a user set ).
Domain Identifier
This item defines the domain to which the hunt group belongs. Domain use is only possible from
NMC management systems.
Type of Hunt Group
This item is used to define the type of group:
• PCX hunt group (each set in the group are on the same node)
• Network hunt group (each set in the group are shared between different nodes)
• RSVP hunt group (these are access to RSVP voice mail)
Subnetwork Reference
If the item hunt group type is entered in Network hunt group, this item displays the number of the
sub-network concerned that makes the reference.
Node Reference
As with the item above, (Hunt group type = Network hunt group), this item displays the number of
the node concerned which makes the reference.
Circular Search Type
During a hunt group call, the set search that rings is either a circular, sequential, or parallel type
search.
By default, this item is completed with Circular. The type of hunt group can be modified to any of
the following:
• Circular: the search for the first free set; the system rings the free set that follows the
previously called set.
• Sequential: the search is always from the set declared as the head of the group (the first free
set is rung),
• Parallel: a parallel group can call several groups simultaneously using a unique number (non
multiline sets).
Group Busy With One Call
This item is valid if the Search Type attribute is at Parallel.
Validated as Yes, this item indicates that the parallel group is considered busy if one of the
group's sets is busy.
Release After Timer
When a set in the hunt group becomes free, it is rung after a timer.
Click this item to validate this feature.
Overflow Directory Number
The overflow directory number must be entered to validate the overflow. An error message is
displayed if the overflow directory number entered does not correspond to a system number (local
multiline set or not, other hunt group) or an attendant call number.
Authorized Camp on Calls %
This is a ration defined by:

     ! " # 55/63

Chapter 2 ' ( )

Camp-on wait on a busy hunt group is authorized as long as the number of waiting calls does not
exceed the parameter value.
Enter a number between 0 and 1000.
Example:
For a wait of 100 %, there will be as many waiting calls as there are sets present in the hunt group.
Connection COS
Define the connection categories to allocate to the sets when they are active in the hunt group.
Sets belonging to a hunt group may not have the same rights in the hunt group as when they are
outside the hunt group.
Public Network COS
Each public network access category provides authorization or barring for incoming and outgoing
calls.
The public network category is independent of those of the sets inside this group. These sets
assume their own category on leaving the group.
Unavailable Authorized
When true, this item allows the last set in the hunt group to validate its own withdrawal (provided
its operating category allows this, even if the hunt group does not have an overflow directory
number).
A call to a hunt group in which all sets have removed will be routed to the overflow directory
number if it exists; if not it will be routed to the busy tone.
Special Features
• Allocation and capacity
Only sets in service can be allocated to the hunt group.
A set can only be allocated to a single hunt group.
Each set in a hunt group can be called by its own directory number.
Note:
The main directory number of a multiline set can belong to a hunt group (no restriction on the number of
lines).
• Row of sets in the group
Each set in the group has a row position in the group. This row is used for the type of search
carried out and is allocated according to the chronological order in which the set was allocated
to the group.
If a set is de-allocated, the program automatically modifies the rows of the remaining sets,
while maintaining their initial order.
Dir. No. Assigned to the Group
This item indicates the directory number(s) (40 maximum) allocated to the group.
To add a directory number, double-click in the field, then click Add before from the contextual
menu (to add a value before selecting) or click Add after (to add a value after selecting), then
type in the directory number in the item Dir. No. Assigned to the Group.
To delete a directory number, select it, then click Delete from the contextual menu.
Entity Number
Complete this item with a number from 1 to 255, which corresponds to the number of the entity to
which this group belongs.

group.
Using Set COS
Validated as Yes, this item authorizes the use of the set network access category instead of that
of the hunt group, in cases where users belonging to the group seize the public network directly or
receive incoming calls via the public network.
CUG List Number
This attribute defines the number of the CUG list assigned to the user. The value -1 means that
this user does not have a list.

Phone Book Type
