FOR STABILITY WASHES

PURPOSE To prepare the Wascator FOM 71 CLS for Stability

washes.

APPARATUS 1. Wascator FOM 71 CLS washing machine (see

Equipment Index Ref 11A, 13AC, 23E, and 24R).

2. Water level checking device (see Equipment Index

Ref 11A, 13AC, 23E, and 24R).

PROCEDURE Switch on the power. Select the start menu by pressing the
‘move back’ button.

SETTING UP OF WATER LEVELS

Note:- The water level calibration and water level check

must be conducted at least once a month and the results
must be recorded.

1. Carry out start-up programme (see note 1) as follows:-

(a) Highlight ‘Run a Wash Program’ using the

scroll arrow on the Clarus Control display, and
press ‘Select’. (See diagram 1).

(b) Press ‘CLS’ button.

(c) Scroll down to ‘Start-Up Program’ and press

‘Select’.

(d) Press ‘start’ once.

(e) A 10 minute wash and rinse programme will

start and finish automatically. The buzzer will
sound on completion of the programme.

2. Water Level Calibration

Note:- It is not necessary to establish the water

height (zero level) at the base of the drum during the
calibration procedure as the CLS machine does not
have a sight tube, unlike the other Wascator models.

immediately above each key

(b) Place the water level checking device inside the

machine (with the scale facing towards the
door), centrally at the bottom the drum, ensur-
ing that the base of the device is 90º to the
back of the drum. Adjust the zero mark of the
ruler so that it is resting on the base of the
drum. Close the door. (See diagram 2).

*3 The wash programme is the same as BS EN ISO 6330: 2001 wash procedure
4A@50ºC containing static drum during filling, gentle action during draining and 15
minute agitation at 40ºC before heating to 50ºC for the wash. See P1A test method for
detergent quantity.
THIS IS NOT THE SAME WASH PROGRAMME AS BS EN 26330: 1994.
NOTE 1: START-UP PROGRAMME
This should be carried out each morning or if the
machine has not been used for two hours. This is because
the FOM 71 CLS machine controls the water levels with
pressure switches and it is necessary to wet out the rubber
diaphragm of the pressure switch initially for better
control of water levels.
