OPERATING PROCEDURE OF STP PLANT
1) Check the inlet Electrical Power is on.

2) Then Check all the Valve Position of the Pumps.

3) Switch on the Button of Required Air Blower in Panel

and check whether the air frequently passing through
the Aeration system.

4) Once the Air Bubbles seems in Aeration Tank switch on

the Required Transfer Pump by Adjusting the Valve.
While on this pump the Raw Sewage Water passing in to
the Aeration system.

5) Then it starts overflowing to Settling Tank.

6) From Settling tank the Pure water overflows to the

Filter Feed tank and Sludge (Dust Particles) stay down
at conical bottom.

7) If the level of the Filter Feed tank Raised switch on the

required filter feed pump by adjusting the valve and
Simultaneously on the Dosing System for Disinfection.
During this time the water enters in to the PSF and then
to the ACF.

8) Every day once while off the pump system we have to

Backwash and rinse both System (ACF and PSF).
9) PSF – 5 Mins Backwash Mode
5 Mins Rinse Mode
Then keep in to Service (or) Filter Mode
ACF – 5 Mins Backwash Mode
5 Mins Rinse Mode
Then keep in to Service (or) Filter Mode

10) At Every Morning we have to sludge out the Sludge

to Sludge Drying Bed(SDB) which is deposited (or)
Settled at the conical bottom of settling tank by switch
on the SRP Pump. During this time we can Top up the
Required MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids) to the
Aeration Tank. It helps us to generate the Bacteria for
Fine Treating.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

COLLECTION SUMP :
All the influents from the rest room are collected in the Collection
sump.

For Reusing the Sewage water for Gardening water we are installing
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT of Required Capacity

SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING UNITS

 TRANSFER PUMP
 AERATION TANK WITH FINE DIFFUSERS
 TWIN LOBE AIR BLOWERS
 SETTLING TANK
 SLUDGE DRYING BED
 SLUDGE RECYCLING PUMP
 FILTER FEED TANK
 FILTER FEED PUMP
 DOSING PUMP AND DOSING TANK
 PRESSURE SAND FILTER
 ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
 ELECTRICAL PANEL

TRANSFER PUMP :
Transfer pump is used for transferring the sewage water from collection sump
into the Aeration tank. It can be operated by using the Electrical panel as
Working pump and Standby pump.
AERATION TANK WITH FINE DIFFUSERS :
The influent is pumped to the bio reactor tank at the properly Regulated
flow rate as required to maintain uniform distribution of organic load for the
Biological reduction through oxidization.

The optimum quantity of oxygen is being provided by fine bubble

membrane grid system.
The non-clog tubular fine bubble membrane diffusers are placed at the
bottom of the aeration chamber to diffuse the air with uniformity.

TWIN LOBE AIR BLOWERS :

The required air is provided by oil free twin lobe air blower with
optimum pressure and flow rate.
The bacteria acts upon the organic matters present in the wastewater,
contributing the pollution load, and disintegrate the complex organic matter
into simpler products such as carbon dioxide and water
At the same time a sizeable fractions of waste is converted to a cellular
mass that can be settled by gravity sedimentation.
Air Blowers are mainly used to reduce the BOD & COD of Sewage water.

SETTLING TANK :
The overflow from the aeration tank enters into the Settling tank where
the bio-mass will be settled. The settled bio-sludge will be pumped into the
Aeration tank again for maintaining the MLSS.

SLUDGE RECYCING PUMP :

A sludge pump is provided to periodically remove the solids
accumulated at the bottom of settling tank. The Excess Sludge is pumped to
the Sludge Drying Bed and the Active Sludge is pumped into the Aeration tank
by SLUDGE RECYCING PUMP.

SLUDGE DRYING BED :

If the bio-sludge is excess, it will be pumped to the Drying Bed for
dewatering then the dried sludge can be used as organic manure which is
enriched with nutrients.
FILTER FEED TANK :
The overflow from the Settling tank flows by gravity to the Filter Feed
Tank. where it will be pumped to the Pressure sand filter(PSF) and
Activated carbon filter (ACF)for the removal of Total suspended solids and
odour and 5% of Colour.

FILTER FEED PUMP :

The clear water of the Filter Feed Tank is pumped to Pressure sand filter
by Filter Feed pump.

DOSING PUMP AND DOSING TANK (DISINFECTION SYSTEM) :

Before entering into the Pressure Sand Filter the water will be dosed
with Sodium Hypochlorite(Naocl) solution using electric operated diaphragm
type dosing pump. This will eliminate the presence of harmful viruses,
bacteria’s and germs.

PRESSURE SAND FILTER :

Pressure Sand Filter is filled with Pebbles and sand of various types and
sizes. which are arranged in sequential order. The purpose of sand filter is
mainly to remove the colloidal impurities/suspended solids which is present
in the biological treated sewage effluent. The filter back wash should be
carried out Periodically.

ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER :

Activated Carbon Filter is Filled with Active Carbon Media. The purpose
of Carbon filter is mainly to remove odour and Colour. The filter back wash
should be carried out Periodically.

ELECTRICAL PANEL :
Push Button Controls of All the Pumps and Motors are carried out by the
Electrical Panel. Control Panel also Consists of Air Blower Timer, Single Phase
Preventer and Emergency Stop Button.
