Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan scholars to pursue studies at
undergraduate, post graduate and Chinese language Diploma level in Chinese Universities Under
EDE Scholarship Program For 2024/2025 Academic Year.

computer, material etc.), Forestry, Art&Design, Management, Finance, Economy and

Bachelor Level Slots : 290 seats

Eligibility
1. Applicants for Masters should hold a first degree in the relevant field.
2. Applicant for Masters should be below 40/35 years of age at the time of applications
3. Applicant should be physically and mentally fit to study overseas.
4. All scholarship programs are granted on merit basis according to applicants’ academic records
and/or other outstanding performances before and after being admitted to the universities.

while following the guidelines provided at the Ministry of Education and Sports Website:

2024/2025 Academic Year

The China university level EDE Scholarship 2024/2025 (Academic year starts in September,
2024), is a scholarship scheme sponsored by Chinese top Universities for the purpose of
supporting Ugandan students who wish to pursue their tertiary education or Chinese language
study in China. Eastern Dynasty Education (EDE) is an officially registered Chinese university
agency who teamed up with the universities and introduced the scholarship scheme to Uganda and
provides guidance to support Ugandan applicants. The sponsor universities are a group of leading
Chinese universities run by the Chinese government. They are among the top 10% ranking
Chinese universities and possessing rich experience in international student education. The
universities are of the following 4 academic disciplines: Universities of Technology and
Engineering, Universities of Economy and Management, Universities of Medicine and
comprehensive Universities

The scholarship scheme consists of 3 parts including a total of 188 programs and 370 scholarship
seats at Bachelor, Marster and Chinese language diploma level.
Part-1 English teaching courses for Bachelor’s degree.
There are 82 scholarship programs offered by 7 member universities listed in Attachment 1
(Attachment 1--List of Chin a university level EDE Scholarship 2024 --English teaching
Bachelor’s degree ).

Part-2 English teaching courses for Master’s degree and Chinese Language diploma. There
are 45 scholarship programs offered by 6 member universities listed in Attachment 2 (Attachment
2- List of China university level EDE Scholarship 2024--Master’s degree & Chinese Language
diploma ).

Part-3 Medicine related Bachelor’s degree. There are 61 scholarship programs offered by 7
member medical schools listed in Attachment 3

Bachelor’s degree English & Chinese ).

Part-4 Chinese Teaching Courses Bachelor & Master degree. Because of the large varieties of
options and majors of this part, applicants can contact EDE for more individualized information
on Chinese teaching course.

EDE offers face to face individualized guidance to assist applicants in the process



Important notes
1. Application deadline for most universities is set by the end of June or early July.
Interested applicants shall make time for your application documents to be submitted on
time. Late applications will not be accepted and processed by the admission committee
2. Applicants must have foreign nationality (Non-Chinese citizen), hold foreign passports,
be friendly to China, and be in good health conditions.
3. Applicants shall have good academic performance, and have no violations of Chinese
laws, regulations, and school rules.
4. All scholarships are granted on merit basis according to applicants’ academic outcomes
and/or other outstanding performances before and after being admitted to the universities.
5. Eastern Dynasty Education sponsors “EDE excellent student scholarship” to assist the
top achieving applicants who are in lack of self-funding by waiving part/full service fees.
6. The cost of food and personal expense are estimations based on investigations made by
EDE and universities for reference purpose. Actual amount of cost will subject to individual
factors and may vary and fluctuate.
7. Please take into consideration that the UGX amounts in the list may have deviations for
reason of currency converting
