History of operation system:

The history of operation system can be divided into four generation

1. In the 1940s-1950s early days of computing, there were no operating system .User had complete
control over the device and wrote program in machine language every task.

2. In the 1950s-1965s was developed in first operating system. In which built on a single stream batch
processing system.

3. In the 1965s-1980 operating system capable of multiprogramming were developed.

4.In the 1980s-present saw the rise of personal computers.

History and introduction of Linux system:

Linux is a popular open source operating system that was first created by Linux Torvalds in 1991. At the
time, Torvalds was a computer science student at the University of Helsinki, Finland and began working
on the Linux project as a personal endeavor. This name Linux is a combination of his first name, Linux,
and Unix, the operating system that inspired his project . Linux was designed to be similar to UNIX but
evolved to run on hardware ranging from phones to supercomputer.

What is virtualization?????
Virtualization is a technology that allows multiple virtual environments to run on a single physical
machine, sharing resources like CPU, memory, and storage.

What is pure virtualization???

Pure virtualization is a technique used in computer system to create virtual versions of hardware or
software. It allows multiple virtual machines or run on a single physical machine.

What is full virtualization??

Full virtualization is a modern virtualization technique developed in the late 1990s , in which every
salient feature of the hardware is reflected into one of several virtual machines. Full virtualization uses
binary translation and a direct approach as a technique for operation.

Different between pure virtualization and full virtualization:

Pure virtualization

 Emulates a computer self contained virtual environment.

 Provide a computer simulation of hardware including CPU, memory and I\|O device.
 Requires no modifications to the guest operating system.

Full virtualization

 Also emulates a complete virtual environment, but with additional features.

 Provide direct access to hardware resources, improving performance.
 May require modifications to the guest operating system to optimize performance.

What is hyper version??

Hyper version is a feature of the window operating system that allows users to create and manage
virtual machines. It was first introduced in window server 2008 and has been available every version

Different between hyper wise 1 and hyper wise 2 plus diagram:

Hyper wise 1

 Released with window server 2008

 Support 32 bits and 64 bits guest operating system
 Limited to 4 processor per VM.

Hyper wise 2

 Introduced with windows server 2012 .

 Support 64 bits guest operating system only.
 Supports up to 64 processors per VM.

What is different between Intel VT-x and AMD-v technology in bios??

Intel VT-x:

 Enables virtualization assisted virtualization for Intel processors.

 Allows for hardware assisted virtualization.
 Supports Intel specific virtualization features like EPT and APIC-v.

AMD-v:

 Enables virtualization supports for AMD processors.

 Allow for hardware assisted- virtualization.
 Supports AMD-v specific virtualization features like RVI and AVIC.

What is different between Intel VT-x and Intel VT-d

The main different between Intel VT-x and VT-d that VT-x focuses on CPU-level virtualization, while VT-
enables direct pass through of devices to virtual machines. Intel T-x is a hardware virtualization
technology that allow the creation an d execution of multiple virtual machine on a single physical
machine, while Intel VT-d is a hardware virtualization technology of devices, such as PCI deices, to virtual
machines.

How to enable VT-x and AMD-v technology in bios??

Intel VT-x:

1. Enter bios setting (usually by pressing F2, F12 or del during boot)
2. Navigate to the advance or performance tab.
3. Look for Intel virtualization technology or VT-x and select it.
4. Set it to “Enable” or “on”.
5. Save changes and exit bios setting.

AMD-v:

1. Enter bios setting (usually by pressing F2, F12 or del during boot)
2. Navigate to the advance or performance tab.
3. Look for AMD virtualization or SVM(secure virtual machine) and select it.
4. Set it to “Enable” or “on”.
5. Save changes and exit bios setting.

What is different between micro processor and micro control??

Micro processor:

 A control processing unit that executes software instructions.

 Performs calculation, data processing and control function.
 Typically used in computer, laptop and other general purpose computing devices.
 Examples: Intel core i7 ,AMD Ryzen 9.

Micro control:

A small computer on a single integrated circuit that contains:

 Processor
 Memory (RAM ,ROM ,Flash)
 Input and output peripherals.
 Designed for specific tasks .
 Control and automation
 Example : Arduino Uno , ESP32,PIC18F4550.
