Special functions

● Automatic current ranging: the instrument will automatically select the optimal current range setting
● Pretreatment: up to 5 levels may be defined to condition the electrode before the actual measurement starts.
The E/I values during “Pretreatment” are recorded and stored with the primary data.
● Apply wrt OCP: the measurement potentials are defined relative to “Open Cell Potential”.
Before the measurement starts, the OCP is detetermined in a zero-current configuration.
The OCP monitor transient is recorded and stored with the primary data.
● Ohmic drop compensation: the applied
potential is corrected by current feedback
● Analog inputs : the 8 analog inputs from the
peripheral port may be recorded
simultaneously with the primary results.
The results are visualized graphically, and
stored with the primary data.
● Signal view: the current and potential transients
are shown in an oscilloscope type screen.
During ac-techniques, the quality of the
perturbing and resulting sine-waves is
visualized. Under dc-conditions, the
E/I signals can be inspected for the presence
of specific noise elements.
Options and modules :
HiMUX: High Performance Electrochemical Multiplexer
This multiplexer module can work with 8 independent Electrochemical cells with each 4 electrodes. An IviumStat or CompactStat can control
up to 8 HiMUX modules (64 channels). Because each channel has its own electrometer, its performance is superior to the switchbox approach:
● Fast channel switching: Because no switches are connected to RE&S, there are no (dis-)charge
currents when channels are switched. High impedance (reference-) electrodes
require a long stabilization time after each switch. The HiMUX keeps RE&S always
connected, and allows for fast channel switches without disturbing the electrochemical cells.
● Excellent high frequency performance: The design with 8 independent active
electrometers allows the whole RE/S cable-length to be enclosed within driven shields.
This results in a very low leakage capacitance, and measurements can be done in the
high frequency range without performance loss compared to the un-multiplexed situation.
Each Electrometer: ♦ Input impedance: >1000 Gohm //<8 pF
♦ Bandwidth >16 MHz
● Maximum compliance WE & CE: 5A
● Automatic channel selection is integrated in the software.

HiMUX32: The 32 channel version of the HiMUX

MultiWE32: IviumBoost:

This module will accommodate cells with 32 Working Electrodes, that share The IviumBoost will increase the maximum current of
a single CE and RE. The potential is applied to all channels continuously, the IviumStat or IviumStat.XR:
thus applied E is not multiplexed! Each channel: ● 2 models: ♦ maximum 40A at ±10V
● Max current: +/-1mA ♦ maximum 20A at ±20V
● 2 modes: ♦ standard: fixed E wrt RE ● Bandwidth >100kHz
♦ scanning: E scans as the primary ● w x d x h = 47x36x14cm, 16 kg
WE, but with an offset ● 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 1000W
● programmable offset +/-4V, 0.125mV resolution,

Second working electrode (WE2) with programmable potential offset wrt RE or WE1.
The bipotentiostat is fully integrated in the potentiostatic Sweep and Transient methods. Its data is recorded simultaneously with the primary channel,
and visualized in the same plot using a secundary current axis. Maximum scanrate or minimum interval times are same as for the primary channel.
● 2 configurations ♦ “standard” : WE2 at a fixed potential w.r.t. RE

● Maximum current ±30 mA ● Compliance voltage ±2 V w.r.t. primary WE

● Minimum current resolution 0.15 fA
● Data acquisition simultanously with primary WE1, 100 kHz max.
sampling rate
● Programmable response filter 1 MHz, 100 kHz, 10 kHz, 1 kHz, 10 Hz

such as voltage monitors, reference or pH meters. The module is stackable up to 8 units (64 channels).
● Each unit can record 8 channels. ● Input impedance: > 10^12 ohm
● Differential measurement range: ± 2V ● Maximum common mode voltage: ±15V
