What we are learning


In Reading- The story this week is Did You See Chip. It is a play. The children enjoy reading the different characters parts. Our phonics study is the ar sound in words. We will review the literary element of setting. In Writing-We are still working on writing several ideas on a topic using spaces between words and a period at the end of a sentence. In Math-We a still making 10s. A fun game will come home on Monday with homework. In Social Studies-We are gearing up for the Holidays with stories and projects having to do with how we celebrate.

Help Needed! *Our class is providing Christmas gifts a local family. It is a family of four with two children, a nine year old girl and a four year old boy. A flyer has come home with some suggestions. Please contribute if you are able. *We need to borrow a fake Christmas tree, fairly small. *Please send in a clean, plastic gallon milk or water jug for a project. *For the party on Dec. 15, please send in 21 small items for each childs Christmas Stocking. Suggestions: A pair of dice, tiny play doh, a candy cane, silly bands, a pencil, a tiny box of raisins or gummies, use your imagination. Please do not spend more than $5 or so. A good place to shop for packs of things is the Dollar Tree.

HEALTHY SNACKS FOR 21 CHILDREN AND 2 ADULTS. PLEASE SEND IN CUPS IF YOU SEND JUICE.

Our Calendar There are many activities this month, so stay tuned. *Tues., Dec.6-Field trip to the Hippodrome to see the Christmas Carol. *Wed., Dec. 7-Santas Workshop-Children may buy gifts for their family members. They will also get to visit with Santa. *Thurs., Dec.8-Cookie Dough delivery *Sat., Dec.10-Light up Micanopy in front of Coffee and Cream. *Tues., Dec. 13-Field Trip to the Christmas House. We will walk in groups of 5 or 6. In the case of inclement weather, we will need a driver. *Thurs., Dec. 15-Our class holiday party. We are planning a luncheon and craft party. A sign-up sheet is posted on the door. *Mon., Dec-Mon., Jan. 2-No School! Winter Holidays. *Tues., Jan. 3-Classes resume
