Symptom
This SAP Note provides guidelines for the installation of the electronic document solution for Mexico.
The electronic document solution has two variants: Full solution and Basic Enablement. The Full solution covers the
end-to-end processing of electronic documents, including XML mapping and communication with external systems. The
Basic Enablement extracts source document data from other SAP applications and makes it available in the database as an
eDocument instance for further processing. You must implement your own solution for XML mapping and communication.

Reason and Prerequisites

Reason
In Mexico, electronic documents must be issued according to Articles 29, 29-A and 29-B of the Federation Fiscal Code
(CFF: Código Fiscal de la Federación) as of December 1, 2017. Electronic documents are defined in the “Annex 20” of the
law.

The Full solution requires the following:
Implementation of SAP Document Compliance, on-premise edition

This option has a limited runtime usage right for SAP Application Interface Framework, which handles XML mapping.
You need a separate license for the option. For more information, refer to SAP Note 2378414 or contact your SAP
Account Executive.

Subscription to SAP Integration Suite (if you were onboarded after July 2020) or SAP Cloud Integration (if you
were onboarded before July 2020)
