BEING IN LONDON
Rose: So, Jennie and Lisa, we have a whole day. What you want to do?
Jennie: Well, you’re the expert in London life, what do you suggest?
Rose: um, we can cycle around the park and you can see a little bit of London
Jennie & Lisa: okay, let’ go
(Stop along the road)
Rose: Are you enjoying London?
Lisa: Asolutely, it’s fantastic, thanks for showing us round, Rose
Rose: No problem. Glad you’re enjoying it!
Jennie: oh, what a view. It’s a great bridge too!
Rose: It’s Millennium Bridge, it’s not for cars, only for people
It was the first new bridge of the Thames in 100 years
Lisa: You sound like a tour guide
Rose: Sorry, I interview the architect last year, so what would you like to visit?
Jennie: What is there to see? As I know there are many famous places around
Thames River
Rose: Well, we could see the Tate Modern first as we’re here and then we
could go to the Global Theatre, do you like Shakespeare?
Lisa: Not really, we studied too much Shakespeare in the college, ah but we
know the Tate Modern. Tape Modern is a gallery, right? Is it free to visit?
Jennie: haha, it’s the true, hey let’s go inside the Tate Modern now, im really
exciting to explore it.
Rose: Yes, of course, it’s on the South Bank
Jennie: I heard that there’s a great restaurant on the top floor, the view is
fantastic, too.
Lisa: Yes, my friends told that The Tape Modern was a power station until
1981, did you know that Rose?
Rose: I didn’t haha, although I am England. Im not really good about history,
Do you know anything else about Tate Modern?
Lisa: I heard that it now displays paintings from artists around the world,
including Picasso.
Jennie: Lisa, you know pretty much, I know nothing haha
Rose: The weather in here now is beautiful and little sunshine. Or do you want
to visit London Eye after we come over the Tape Modern? It’s over there
Lisa: Yes, instead of Global Theatre and Shakespeare haha, it’s a good place to
go. London Eye sounds interesting.
Jennie: Is it the tallest observation wheel in the world, as I know?
Rose: Uhm, yes, the London Eye is popular for its view. You can see nice view
of London. In here, there are many ancient buildings. It has from the last
centuries.
Lisa: It’s structure was fantastic, I can see a lot from movies and the Internet
Jennie: yeahh, it sounds good, where should we go in the afternoon?
Rose: Well, how about walking around the Hyde Park? I guess it’s handy for
joggers
Lisa: Yes, it’s impressive. I want to do some exercise along with going around
too
Jennie: Is this large royal park best known for its famous Speakers' Corner,
where people speak their minds, Rose?
Rose: Yes, exactly, it also has a famous horse-riding area and a lake
Lisa: I love horse-riding, I used to ride a horse when I was ten years old with
my brother. But it’s in Vietnam, if I can see the view in London on a horse, it
will be a wonderful experience.
Jennie: I love seeing animals in the lake haha. I love animals like swans,
they’re very cute.
Rose :(smile) you seems to be interesting, so it’s actually a good place to go
Lisa: And it’s also a long plan for a day too (haha). I think we should have two
weeks for this holiday haha
Rose: Asolutely! But it’s worthy, do you think so?
Lisa: Yes, London is fantastic, there many things and places we want to go.
People here also friendly and the atmosphere are clear.
Jennie: I agree. Best city to visit ever (smile). My family will visit London in
the next summer holiday, I will take them these places
Lisa: If I have an opportunity to come back London, do you willing to meet
and go out with me again?
Rose: Yes, of course, Im glad to introduce you my city. Ah, are you hungry?
Should we go somewhere for lunch?
Lisa: Let’s look for an English traditional restaurant, it would be wonderful to
try London’s food
Jennie: Mee too. It’s boring if come back to Vietnam without eating traditional
food of London
Rose: Ok, let’s go. I know a famous restaurant, it’s very close here
Three: yeah, let’s go
