3.ONU and H196A Mesh Networking Provisioning Guide
3.ONU and H196A Mesh Networking Provisioning Guide
1) The ONU before delivered is powered on normally and connected with the optical fiber;
2) Use a PC or mobile phone to access Internet, and observe whether the services are normal. If
yes, it indicates that the ONU services are commissioned normally.
2) For such scenarios as cross-layer, large household and complex structures, it is recommended
3) Mesh solution recommends 5G WiFi at most one wall to the nearest router, and the strength
Provisioning Precautions:
1) For such scenarios, suggest provisioning one H196A first, after successfully networked with
3) Connect the second H196A and the first one via wireline. It is OK if the wireline can be
4) After provisioning is completed, be sure to use InSSIDer or WiFi analysis tool to check RSSI
from ONU 5G signal to the first H196A. The signal strength is suggested to be greater than -
the wall between floors is 30~50cm. For such users, we strongly require cross-floor H196A to use
wired networking, while H196A on the same floor can use 5G WiFi networking.
Provisioning Precautions:
1) Do not place ONU and H196A at a place higher or lower than the ground. Try to ensure that
the user and the device are at a same level, slightly higher or slightly lower;
2) The external antenna of the ONU is vertical upwards, and the angle between the antenna and
3) The H196As on other floors must use wired networking instead of wireless networking.
Scenario 3: Coffee shops, restaurants, shops, and other densely populated places
These types are densely populated, and have a large number of STA terminals, which is close to
Provisioning Precautions:
1) The devices are distributed evenly in an indoor environment, covering the whole scenario as
much as possible;
2) ONU and H196A are connected via wired network, but not connected via wireless networking.
1) Do not place the device in an unblocked position. Do not place the device at a corner or
behind an obstacle. Keep away from objects that affect wireless signals, such as strong reflectivity
2) Keep away from interference sources (other wireless routers/AP, microwave ovens, cordless
phones, Bluetooth devices, data centers and so on that will generate a great amount of high-
frequency noise);
3) Do not stack things on the device. Try to pass through the wall as little as possible to reduce
4) If the distance between the ONU and the H196A is too long, or there are too many cross-floors
5) The vertical positions of ONU and H196A provisioning should not be too high or too low. They
