A ll quantities for piling works are indicative only and


are not the true reflection of the actual extent of the
work. The pay length is measured from tip of the piles
to the cut-off level.

**The Contractor shall propose and seek S.O.'s


approval on the appropriate piling plants/ machine (i.e.
Press-in or other equivalent hydraulic press-in piling
technique) to be mobilized for the works and ensure
strict compliance with the noise limit imposed by
NEA .
Micropiles
Supply and install Grade C40/50 micropiles in sizes as
described to achieve the specified working load
capacities, including to supply, install and maintain all
machinery required to bore holes, check bored holes
alignment, keep bored holes free from ground water,
temporary works to support sides of bored holes
including but not limited to reinforcement and grout
placing, cut off head of piles to required levels, make
good pile head to receive the permanent structure/
pilecap (as the case maybe), all necessary back-filling
and removal of surplus excavated materials off site.

Bored Piles
Supply and install Grade C32/40 bored piles in sizes as
described to achieve the specified working load
capacities, including to supply, install and maintain all
machinery required to bore holes, check bored holes
alignment, keep bored holes free from ground water,
temporary works to support sides of bored holes
including but not limited to reinforcement, temporary
steel casing and grout placing, cut off head of piles to
required levels, make good pile head to receive the
permanent structure/ pilecap (as the case maybe), all
necessary back-filling and removal of surplus
excavated materials off site.

Working Load Test


Supply of labour, plant and materials for carrying out
working load tests on selected working piles to two
times working load capacity using kentledge reaction
system. The rate shall include design, mobilisation,
assembly, load cell, jack and other equipment required
for the tests, removal on completion, and all ancillary
works for the completion of the tests. The rates shall
also include analyses and interpretation of test results
and submission of reports endorsed by the Professional
Engineer engaged by the Contractor as specified in the
Contract Specifications and drawings all necessary for
the due performance thereof as specified.

Pile Dynamic Analysis Test (PDA)


Set up plant and equipment for performing PDA test as
specified including filling with concrete to top of pile
from cut-off level to ground level for PDA test
including all necessary reinforcement, cutting excess
length at required level, adapting pile head and
subsequent hacking of pile to required cut-off level on
completion of test. ( Piles to be randomly selected by
the S.O.).

Ultimate Load Test


Supply of labour, plant and materials for carrying out
ultimate load tests as per specification or as directed by
the S.O. before the installation of the working piles

required for the deflection gauges and calibration in an
approved laboratory of all jacks and gauges before and
after each test when required by the S.O.
