Executive Summary:
I choose the Gujranwala chamber of commerce for an internship, all the business and re-associated companies with that
organization. The chamber of commerce of Gujranwala issues membership as well as an export origin certificate and
commercial document attestation. The chamber of commerce of Gujranwala also issues a letter of recommendation for
visa, passport and other benefits.
There was a lot learning in this company, I worked in the accounts department for the first 6 weeks of my internship, in
two weeks prepare EOBI report.
Everybody working with me in every department helps me in gathering data for this study. Whenever I get confused
about working there, I asked them to welcome me and thoroughly define myself entirely their working process.
Our teamwork allows for the comfortable atmosphere in which I can work on my research. I met department heads face
to face and studied the working environment there. I have noticed many differences, such as non-duty segregation, does
excessive workers and faced many others challenges in the industrial sector as a result of energy crisis, political and
other challenges that become the greater hurdle in promoting industries smoothly.
From my internship, I concluded that GCCI works as a strong company and had reliable record over its lifespan and
provide its workers with many e. To address the differences, I recommended segregation the responsibilities, recruiting
the necessary personnel and adding new division for the GCCI management. In this report I am try to explain different
department of GCCI and their functions.

After completing the 8th semester of B.com (Hons) this report made for my professional experience.
This study deals with Gujranwala chamber of commerce and industry which is engaged in promoting
trade and industry in the Gujranwala district. My experience at GCCI, I explained in this article. F I am
giving members the GCCI profile and its services in the first portion of the study. I also

risk. Based on the SWOT review, I am able to suggest some solutions for GCCI’s secure and
successful operations and to resolve all the vulnerabilities and threats.
Infrastructure of GCCI
The GCCI’s infrastructure is very appealing, establishing a positive picture in tourist or outsider’s
minds. Over the years; GCCI’s infrastructure has changed a lot and yet all the president will invest
more funds per year to further develop it.
I this part of the country, Gujranwala chamber of commerce and industry (GCCI) is a large,
independent networking and business support organization. The Gujranwala chamber of commerce
represents the interests the thousands of sole Proprietorships as well as business (associate class and
corporate class), connecting lots of business people every year and offering a wide range of practical
and professional services of our members. The Gujranwala chamber of commerce and industry is a
joint stock company registered as, limited liability company under the Companies ordinance 1984. The
GCCI is engaged in the promotion of the commerce and in THR district of Gujranwala.
The Gujranwala chamber of commerce has provided his services to its members from a long period of
time since 1970s, in Gujranwala. It strives hard to contribute in the economic development of Pakistan
in general or of Gujranwala in particular. But now a day, due to energy crisis, high inflation, higher
interest rate and high unemployment rate are major challenge which badly affect the trade (export or
import) and economic development of Pakistan.
History
The chamber of commerce and industry (GCCI) Gujranwala was created in 1978. It is an apex trading body representing
the business community. GULZAR AHMAD was the at that time the first person to serve as GCCI president. Before the
chamber was initialized, as associate named Gujranwala trade and industry association operated in Gujranwala,
observing the company interest’s city’s traders and industrialists.
Gujranwala chamber of commerce and industry (GCCI) in this part of the country is a large, independent networking
and business support organization. Presenting the interests of thousands of companies, each year connect lots of business
people and offer a wide range of practical and professional services to our members.

shortages or surpluses.

In GCCI, the management uses demotion technique that certain workers or trainees did not

The management of the GCCI is also working on that approach. Once management is faced with
some of a trainee's threats, management is permanently suspended.
Deadline
Completion is the termination of an employee's work. There's been one mistake. A voluntary
termination refers to the retirement or pension. Employment can also be involuntary-if an
employee ends up with the employer.
Retirement
The official act of having one's office or position abandoned or abandoned is resignation.
Resignation should be based on firm reason.
Pension
Retirement is a retirement from your career or employment or from life. There are some policies
and criteria for retirements. Employee shall retire at age 60. Employees can also get retirement in
other cases, like sickness, permanent injury.
Company has a beneficial personnel relationship. They attentively follow the laws and
regulations, and behave as family members. With top leadership, staff can talk about their issues
readily and without hesitation.
Critical Assessment:
GCCI is one of the most significant organizations offering developmental services to the sector. I
have gained a substantial amount of knowledge about customer service and I have realized that
great communication skill which is the fundamental requirement of serving customers with great
services.
I earned money from the posting of data into GCCI software. In the GCCI software I also
learned about change of address, endorsement, new account opening process etc. I take a critical
look at their function. Details of this analysis are provided below.
In the planning and forecasting of human resources at GCCI, not conducting it properly. No
suitable method of evaluating demand, supply, is implemented. The organization adopts a
reactive approach to hiring human resources. Separate cells of human capital needed to operate
properly in efficient ways.
GCCI recruit and select their staff through limited resources, such as personal references and
peer contacts. Through these personal contacts GCCI may not hire higher-skilled employees for
their organization they should be on a fair merit basis.
Training and growth are very critical to any organization's success. No proper training and
development technique is used, due to limited resources and budget. Trainer gets more of
successful self-training than professional teaching. GCCI has no training department.no training
and growth planning completed.
• Level Management:
GCCI does not assign tasks to performance reports of employees they judge performance on a
day-to-day basis, not on a proper standard of work. But often the quality of excellence is
traditional or often unattainable due to insufficient training of workers and lack of equipment.
GCCI does not use performance reports for compensation and benefits, some employees are
super smart, showing themselves to be the most efficient and productive employee in the
department, rather than the trainees doing their work. The outcome of the most hard-working
employee is not coming up for the award.
GCCI needs to boost the efficiency of its employees because of poor management in delivering
services. In the membership department I analyze most of the people's form delay and waste
their time. New applicants often face trouble getting a membership card.
In GCCI the relationship between employees is not good. There is a distance I found between
the staff and the executive. They also organize a conference to settle disputes or conflicts. GCCI
I also play the role of arbitrator for conflicting business. But sometimes management is busy
solving problems at the time and business issues are ignored and delayed, which creates
discomfort among GCCI members.
SWOT analysis
Strength
Overall, analysis shows that the Gujranwala chamber of commerce’s financial position is good
due to last high sales growth, an improvement in the company long term assets and equity
development and successful expo 2019 in Lahore.
The financial analysis indicates that Client Company has received more jobs from
Gujranwala chamber of commerce to provide its services and other facilities.
No business debt
Because GCCI’s profit rate has been maximizing from the last 3 years no loans from any
financial institution are taken. Therefore, financial costs like interest in this service provider
company over nil.
Management efficiency
Management is committed and makes efficient and effective use of the firm’s resources. As
Assets turnover ratio says assets are uses at their maximum potential.
Connecting business men and tycoon through seminars and exhibitions is the strength of the
organization as GCCI provides facilities services to its customers company through seminars and

Weakness
Govt. intervention
Ministry of commerce and chamber federation’s intervention compels the GCCI’s members, to
fellows all their legal requirements. Therefore, due to his direct interference, several programs
and postponed.
Opportunities
The export opportunities in the Gujranwala area will be enhanced through the construction of
the dry port. Then the facilities such as the processing of commercial documents and need for
license world be jumped. In that case the GCCI will prosper.

The business opportunities in Gujranwala city will be improved through the growth of small
industrial estate. Then the facilitation facilitates such as the processing of commercial

Threats
Unstable economic conditions such as inflation rate, business load shedding effects deficit
financing, and tax burden are Gujranwala’s biggest threat to industry. If industry trade gets a
dive nose, and GCCI gets lower jobs for services rendered thereby, it will be directly affected by
such economic hurdles
Political instability
Due to the unpredicted political situation in Pakistan, GCCI Is affected, the trade and business
activities in Gujranwala are badly affected by political crises.
Marketing department
Marketing refers to practices which a firm undertakes to facilities the purchase or sale of a
product or services. Marketing involves advertisement, marketing, and providing customer or
other company goods and services. Any promotion is performed on behalf of a client by the
affiliates.
There is no department for marketing inside GCCI. Yet the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
of Gujranwala advertises its services through its website. And they have been delivering new
technologies/ new services to their customers for the last 2 years. Their member companies are
advertised on the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry show wall or display screen.
They also announce the service on the GCCI website. The annual fee for this advert is 30000.
Finance department
Financial analysis means an analysis of the financial statements. Analysis of the financial
statements is basically the process of examining relationships between elements of the financial
statements and comparing them with relevant information. It is a valuable tool that Financial
Statements users like investors and creditors, financial analysts, and others use in their stock,
bond, and other financial instruments decision-making processes. The aim of the financial
statements analysis is to evaluate past performance & current financial position and to make
predictions about a company's future performance
Different users like, investors who buy stock are primarily interested in the profitability of a
company and its prospects of earning a return on their investment by receiving dividends and/or
increasing their stock market value. Creditors and investors who buy debt securities, such as
bonds, are more interested in liquidity and solvency: the ability of the company to pay its debts
in the short and long run. Financial analysts, who often specialize in following certain industries,
routinely evaluate companies' profitability, liquidity, and solvency to make recommendations on
the purchase or sale of securities, such as stocks and bonds.
Analysts can obtain useful information by comparing the most recent financial statements of a
company with previous years' results and with the results of other companies in the same sector.

In the last semester of my B.com hons. In Human Resources Management I made this report for
my professional experience. This article is about the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (GCCC) working for business promotion in the Gujranwala district. I explain my
experience in the chamber of commerce & industry in Gujranwala in this report. I'm describing
the GCCI profile & its major membership services. I also clarified GCCI’s policy on price. The
management does not provide me with a vision statement but provides me with the mission

First aid Miss Zunaira invites the companies to book the stalls and distribute the number of
stalls according to the payment for the stall.
I have called in various organizations to make sure that the expo pays their stall dues.
Also, send a letter of invitation to various GCCI chambers and executive leaders to check
whether they are coming or not.
Award ceremony at Islamabad After a fruitful exhibition event at Lahore, an award ceremony
was held in honor of GCCI Workers and numerous successful companies participated in the
exhibition. I report on this event and on the performance of GCCI members.
Workshop
There was a Miss Kanwal honor seminar and all participants are entering this seminar. I
research management functions like a single executive member isn't missing. Report of the
seminar and the preparation of proposals.
I will explain briefly the knowledge gained and learned as a result of my training experience and
I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about customer service and I have realized the
great communication ability which is the fundamental prerequisite to serve customer with great
service.
I learnt about GCCI software posting info. In the GCCI program I also learned about change
of address, endorsement, new account opening process etc.

Liquidity
Overall, GCCI have a strong ability to pay its short term debts or current liabilities.
In 2018, the current ratio of the GCCI is 5 times whereas it diminished into 3 in 2019 but again it rose into 7 times
in 2020. The reason is that current liabilities has been diminished dramatically in 2020 so it shows increasing trend
.overall, it means that company have enough current assets to pay its short term liabilities.
There is 16 percent decrease in working capital of GCCI in 2019 with respect to 2018 whereas 3 percent decline
has been appeared in 2020. So, it is highlighted that the short term debts paying ability of the company is gradually
decreasing.
The Cash ratio of GCCI has been stabled into 2 consecutive years 2018 and 2019 whereas it has been jumped into
3 times in 2020 meaning that company has enough cash to meet its short term operating needs. It is highlighted
that the ratio remained stable in following years and jumped in the recent year due to earning of huge profit in
recent year.

Company did not receive long term debts from any financial institution. Assets are financed with equity as whole.
The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) did not receive loan from any bank or financial
institution for its own business operation, because of GCCI is a service provider organization not manufacturing or
production organization. (See annexure)
Management Efficiency
Receivable belong to Service rendered does exist in a company however other receivable exists; GCCI is a
services organization so it provides services to its clients on cash basis.
Furthermore, the concept of inventory does not exist in GCCI, because GCCI is a services provider not
manufacturing organization.
But, assets turnover ratio says assets are utilized at their full capacity i.e.1.27, 1.35, 1.57 respectively in 3
consecutive years

There is a constant growth in profit margin in 2018 and 2019 but profit has been quadrupled in 2020 from 4% to
13%

Assets (both current and long term) as well as income are increased in 2020 so return on assets has been jumped
from 4% to 20 %

There is minor decrease in return on equity from 5% to 4 % in 2019 but it increased dramatically up to 24 % due to
high growth in income in recent year.

Vertical Analysis
The Vertical Analysis of 2021 is compared to the previous year 2020. As the total non-current assets are
significantly increase by 75.78% as compared 63.18% these are reduce in 2019 but now significantly increase
show a good sign for GCCI. Cash and bank balances of the GCCI are significantly decreased by 9.30% in 2020 as
compared to 25.09% of the 2019 and the current assets are decreased by 24.22% as compared to positive 36.82%
which is increase from previous year but great fall again. The overall total assets of the GCCI are also decreased in
2020 as compared to previous year.
The Capital fund which is funds used for all the purposes of GCCI is also reduced by 78.37% as compared
to the previous year which is 83.48% positive. The Liabilities of GCCI is also significantly decreased by 3.48% as
compared to 12.86% the previous year, so show that the performance of this year (2021) is very good as compare
to the last year (2020).
Recommendations
Since performing GCCI’s SWOT, I am able to recommend the factors that are certain if GCCI
management should apply these factors correctly, the vulnerability and risk are transformed into
strength and opportunities.
As few members of staff operate the R and D cell, their contract and compliance jobs are
delayed for some time. Therefore, to improve the staff members to achieve the optimal point
for income maximization is a desperate need.
Segregation of duties
I recommend segregation duties to GCCI management an only one person can do one job and
he is a superior or supervisor to inspect his work. In GCCI the accountant is not appropriate for
both accountant and cashier. To prevent fraud, there should be separate individual for every
massage.
I suggest that the appropriate R and D cell personnel be managed by GCCI. If GCCI wants to
promote research work in the industry they need to hire the required personnel. It is not
possible that in Gujranwala only a single person, R and D, direct-general will be able to handle
or conduct the research work of various industries. This work or work involved a handsome
number of employees who collected data from different industries, defined the problems and
tried to solve the problems of the various industries through analysis.
GCCI introduce new departments
I propose that the management of GGCI make good use of its resources by adding or
incorporating new departments to promote trade and industry from GCCI’s capital funds. They
have enough space; if GCCI can introduce new departments that are present in other districts or
cities of Pakistan it should be very beneficial for GCCI members.
In this section, in light of my professional experience, organizational and SWOT analysis, I define
the company according to the evaluation and assessment.
GCCI will rely on the worldwide advertising. His emphasis was on Pakistan in Gujranwala Area
alone. GCCI can handle a lot of foreign contracts through international ads, and attracts foreign
investment in Pakistan. GCCI will advertise overseas for that reason. Initially advertising abroad
would be expensive, but the long-term gains would suffer more than the costs.
I conclude that the chamber of commerce and industry of Gujranwala is a successful organization
overall engaged in the promotion of trade and industry. Through my internship at GCCI, o found
that the organization offers membership facilities for the around 9000 companies either as a sole
proprietor, partnership, or corporate organization or entity. It provides various benefits to its
members. But now, political and other challenges, it has faced several challenges in the industrial
sector that become the greater obstacle in the way of smoothly promoting the industries.
I did the research work in R and D cell. I have spent some time at other GCCI departments
gaining practical knowledge from those departments.
Through the internship, I have gained a lot of practical experience. I have recommended certain
factors in this report after GCCI’s SWOT analysis; if GCCI can incorporate those factors,
GCCI’s vulnerability or risk are converted into strength or opportunities.
