There are 7 internal difficulties. To select the hardest one, click on the death skull left
bottom. Please pay attention that at difficulties 1-4 the map will not offer any
challenge, don’t come and complain battles are boring.

FACTION SPECIALTIES:

MASTER OF SPEED:
All your heroes will have Logistic specialty and will start with expert logistic. They
will be able to visit the Royal Stables dwelling and improve their movement range up
to 20 additional tiles.
The price for each upgrade will double. The movement bonus is calculated before other
bonuses, as from artifacts or from Commodus chest guard. The cost of speed upgrades
in halved for Masters of Speed, and all inferno creatures start with a +1 speed bonus.
They are so fast that enemies do not have the time to run away, therefore the spoils of
war get a 1/3 bonus.
Master of speed will receive +1 mithril from each CB that hero defeats same day,
bonus being cumulative. Invaders will drop angelic alliance components when playing
Master of speed.
All lighthouses on map are given to human player on first turn if playing Master of
Speed.

MASTER OF DEVILS:
All your heroes will have the ability to upgrade devils and arch devils to Hell Barons.
The Hell Barons are only available when choosing this specialty.
Hell barons new stats:

HP=400
Attack=48
Defense=56
Damage=60-70
Speed=18

It is possible to upgrade their stats by visiting the appropriate dwelling, every two
weeks. Master of devils can also select the special level bonus from a list.

MASTER OF WEALTH:
All your heroes will have Estates specialty and will start with Estates. If they have
expert estates, they will produce each day resources and mithril, following the next
algorithm:

Hero level x 500 gold daily


Hero level x 1 of each resource daily
Hero level divided by two for daily mithril generating.

Invaders will drop the grail when playing master of wealth. Training price is also
halved. The towns conversion cost remains same after 5th conversion.

MASTER OF ELEMENTS:
All your heroes will have Sorcery specialty and will start with Sorcery. Therefore, all
damage spells will inflict double damage in combat. They are also allowed to modify
SLOW spell up to -4 (cumulated with regular effect). They also can place/remove
teleportation shrines. You will get one additional shrine every month, starting with
only one available. Master of elements can cast twice in a battle turn and this from the
beginning of the game. Once 250 spells upgraded, they will be able to get blind scrolls
from devil's camp. Each cast of blind removes one scroll. Every 50 spell upgrades
grants your faction with 500 mithril bars.
All masters of elements heroes start with god of mana.

MAGIC SCHOOLS UPGRADES:


Opens the spells menu. If you have the required resources, you can upgrade the power
and effect of the spells proposed. Some of them are limited, due to the need of
preserving balance. Once you achieved a specific number of upgrades in each magic
school, you will unlock the access to this magic school special bonus:

AIR:
-all your creatures will receive +100% health in combat
WATER:
-your heroes can move on water at no movement cost
EARTH:
-as attacker, you will receive spoils of war from defeating enemies and neutral armies.
FIRE:
-your heroes will be able to cast twice every battle turn. Bonus is different for Master of Elements, he
can get scrolls of Blind from Devil’s camp.

ARMY MANAGEMENT:

Here you can train your creatures. Every creature has still some caps (except in HELL
mode), to preserve balance. Clicking on the "crown" icon will open special abilities
menu. To purchase them, click on ability, then on the little "ok" icon near. Those
abilities cannot be deleted, once purchased, so choose well. But you can switch them
between your creatures later.

Click on the crown to open Abilities MENU.

The price of each ability is 200 mithril. Hell mode replaces immunity blind with Attack
ALL Around, but its cost is more expensive. To purchase one ability, select it then
confirm purchase by clicking on the golden frame (see screen).

SEARCH FOR LOCATIONS:

SEER HUTS:

Due to exceptional map size, the locations of the seer huts are stored in this dialog.
Click on the desired one to move the view on its location and find it fast.

QUEST GUARDS:

Same feature as for seer huts. Find in a click any quest guard location.

OTHER LOCATIONS:

Use this feature to find other locations, as magic nodes and border gates.

HERO SCREEN:

A new button was placed, army experience. In this map you cannot gain experience
from battles, therefore you will have to train them manually from this button. It is
located near the Hero name.

When purchasing the new week recruits, train them separately before joining to your
existing army (or they will lower the overall experience).

MINIMAP BUTTONS:

All minimap buttons will provide helpful hints and actions, as searching not visited
objectives, switch abilities, find how many demons your pit lords can summon etc.
When switching abilities, make sure the target creature has one slot free, or the ability
will be lost.

BATTLE CALCULATOR:

Right-click on cast spell button to open battle calculator. It is very helpful for
calculating how many creatures you will kill with spells.

AI BONUSES

All AI creatures will receive at game start a random hatred (+200% damage) ability
against one of your creatures. This ability will be reinitialized each first day of the
week. AI creatures stats will grow depending on the difficulty you choose.
AI will not have access to upgraded spells, means that its spells will have regular power
and effects, except for some unique heroes, which will master one or another of combat
spells.

RESOURCES GATHERING:

Besides the mines and estates bonus, all the creature banks will respawn every 14 days
(if visited). The guards quantity will increase, as well as the reward.
CORNUCOPIA new effect : 100 of each resource daily, depends of faction and will
upgrade after certain battles.

TREASURE HUNTERS:

When leaving one Arch Devil or Hell Baron in a mine (as guard), that mine will
produce 1000 gold/turn. Quantity doubles for Hell difficulty.

SPELLS:

Following your upgrade strategy, the spells will have increased power and effects.
Beside the spells which keep their specificity and only do increased damage, a few of
them were changed in order to give better balance and satisfaction. All spells modified
effects will take place only if your hero is expert in that magic school. This does not
include direct damage spells.

PRECISION:
-every upgrade adds +10% of the overall damage.

COUNTERSTRIKE:
-adds one retaliation for each upgrade

WEAKNESS:
-the spell is single target and becomes level 5. The target will lose 1-5% attack and
defense every turn until spell is gone or dispelled.

BLESS:
-the spell is single target. The friendly target will gain 1-5% damage every turn until
spell is gone or dispelled.

PRAYER:
-the targets will gain +1-5% attack and defense every turn until spell is gone or
dispelled.

FORGETFULNESS:
-the target will lose a percentage of its ammo.

SLOW:
-available only if Master of Elements selected. The target will lose 1 additional speed
with each upgrade.

EARTHQUAKE:
-can be upgraded 5 times, at last upgrade the spell will destroy all walls except one
turret, which can be put down by ballista, if the hero has the skill.

FIRE SHIELD:
-can be upgraded to mass spell. AI will still use it single target.

CURSE:
-the spell is single target and becomes level 5. The target will lose 1-5% maximum and
minimum damage every turn until spell is gone or dispelled.

FRENZY:
-the target will lose 10-50% health, once per battle and one stack only.

The creatures cannot get experience from battles, therefore you will have to use the
new button in the Hero screen in order to be able to train your creatures up to ACE
level.

F1 key will allow switching between "attack and stay" and "attack and return". You
can also bring the same dialog when right-clicking on the {"Defend"} icon.

Invaders such as Solmyr, Mutare and all others which will attack you regularly have
much less army than you see on adventure map. I had to give them more creatures to
encourage them to attack. Once in battle, they will have normal army (for that game
moment).

MAGIC NODES

There are 4 magic nodes, one for each school. They can be visited once every month.
Each magic node will give a free upgrade for every damage spell in that school.
The Cosmos Nodes will upgrade the direct damage spells for all schools at once. Be sure
to use the scroll button, when visiting the Cosmos nodes, to be able to browse ALL
magic schools.

CONVERT TOWNS

When capturing or visiting a non inferno city, you will be offered to convert it to your
faction for a price. You can also right-click on the town entrance to bring same dialog.
The price will double with each city you converted.

SPECIAL LEVELS

Every 50 battles one hero won, he will gain a special level, +5 tiles permanent
movement and a random bonus. The random bonus is randomly set every day 1 of the
week and can consist in:

Devils
Mithril
All skills
+10 all stats
+10 tiles permanently
Orb of Fire

If he already has the Orb of Fire equipped or in backpack or if he already has all skills
and one of those two bonuses is activated, they will automatically convert into
something else.

Master of Devils can choose the bonus.

The first bonus is always mithril. IN HELL MODE you can select the bonus.

CAVES OF GODS

Fight each of them for resources or creatures. It will give resources until you unlock
FIRE bonus, then either imps or devils. The reward depends on HERO LEVEL.

DEVIL’S CAMP

At this structure each faction will be offered different services.

BUGS and HOW to Avoid

If you (and you will) have a stack of more than 30000 creatures, NEVER move them
between heroes, or garrison->hero, or simply between Hero slots by mouse only, they
will vanish (regular Heroes bug). Use instead SHIFT + split bar in the box opened. You
can also set their number manually. If they lose experience in the process, right click
(in hero army screen only) on the stack moved to fix it.

Money/resources overflow: please pay attention at your treasury. Heroes mechanics


do not allow money over 99 millions, resources over 9 millions. If you are close to those
values, use the mithril market to lower them, or markets in towns. If values very high,
keep an eye on them, if you see going down to zero, reload save and exchange. If played
carefully, this bug is easy to avoid.

Starting with Synca battle, Commodus will receive too much experience from battle,
thus there is a high risk that his experience overflows and you go to on endless leveling.
To avoid this, starting with Synca and until the end (a few battles), Commodus will be
downgraded to level 63, but his stats will remain unchanged.

PRIMARY STATS/EXPERIENCE LEVELS:

The maximum level you can achieve in Heroes by visiting trees and pandora boxes is
74. After this level, you can go up to 108, but only from fights experience. If you visit a
tree or a pandora box when having 74, your levels will drop to zero. I added a check
when the player visits pandora boxes (which give up to 10 levels). If you hero is already
>64 level, the Pandora will not open, to prevent losing your levels. Please, pay
attention with leveling. Last 6 battles, don't worry if Commodus goes down to 63th
level, I added this fix to prevent him going crazy in levels and lose all stats. He will
keep stats unchanged when this fix occurs. I advice to not visit any tress or Pandora
boxes with Commodus during your game, he does not need them.

Do not use level 100 or more heroes in Alchemist, erm does not recognize correctly
those ghost level

The maximum value allowed in primary skills is 127. Era patch will display up to 125.
Pay very much attention to your skills, if they go over 125, they will drop to 99 or even
zero.
Use the arcane tower, if necessary, to balance your stats and avoid this problem. Or
visit the magic shop and make your pick.
For example if you have attack=124, and have an emissary which gives attack every
week, don't let the 7th day pass without lowering your attack, it will go down. With
123 is ok.

Sometimes the internal memory is corrupted and one mine or creature banks will show
error every day. This will not affect game play, and to disable this annoying pop-up,
right-click on END TURN then select “disable error messages”:

SPOILERS:

I insist on the importance of farming. Late game, you will have many towns, every of
them producing 50-60 imps weekly. This means 500-600 demons every week. If they
are well trained, nobody will resist to 100 000 frenzied demons. They will be your
main force. To get a ratio 1:1 of imps->demon upgrade your imps HP to 16.

For last battle you will need at least 36 speed on each of your stacks, depending of
difficulty. Not including spells applied.

Don't do all neutral battles with Commodus, he must advance fast. Use secondary
heroes.

Forgetting secondary skills:

You can forget any skill when visiting market of time. You have noticed that the
market will only look and propose to forget in your visible skills. To bring a hidden
skills in visible skills (hero screen), hold CTRL and right-click on experience icon. It will
propose you to swap a hidden skill with the first visible. Then you can forget it and
replace with a better one.

Secondary skills scrolling mod is DISABLED for this map.
