The contents of this Specification shall be adopted by the CONTRACTOR and further developed during detailed engineering phases of the project. Ceilings shall be fire rated and/or shall utilise full height cavity barriers within roof voids to ensure fire separation of rooms where required by local regulation or to EMPLOYER requirements. 3.4 Surface Finishes Where finishes are specified, except to the extent specified herein, these shall be to the approval of EMPLOYER, for example, in the selection of paint or tile colours and floor surfacing materials. B PAGE 11 OF 13 3.5 Stairs, Ramps and Balustrading All external concrete stairs, ramps, platforms and balustrading shall be designed and built in accordance with the requirements specified in relevant codes and standards. Concrete stairs shall incorporate non-slip, hard wearing stair nosings installed at all stair treads. Ramps for disabled use will not be required. Handrails and balustrades shall be galvanised steel tubular sections, painted in accordance with required standards. Balustrading shall incorporate demountable sections in locations where equipment access is required.
